It's Damn Real!

The undisputed, undefeated TNA &
So is the fact that Suicide (Frankie Kazarian) recently asked for his release from the company finally proof enough that this oven-mit wearing, self-depreciating masked avenger gimmick sucks? I'm not even that concerned with the fact that TNA tried build a character who actually refers to himself as the action of someone taking their own life here, either... I'm concerned with what this has done for Kaz, which is presumably nothing but wasted his time.

Newsflash, Dixie: The video game failed. No one bought it, so why would they even know who the hell he is? Could Suicide be any more irrelevant? You don't think any other X-Division star could have helped put over D'Angelo Dinero? Suicide is not over, he was never really over, and he's never really going to get over, so why not try to move on from it as painlessly as possible?

Hell, you could even push the unmasking thing again like you did a few months ago with guys like Shelley, Sabin, Creed and Lethal. Let Dinero unmask him.

Give Kaz another run with his "The Future" gimmick. Everything about his character screamed it, from his in-ring style right down to him drawing that box symbol in the air with both his index figures to cap off his entrance. Hell, all his finishers are derived from the Back to the Future films, anyway. Why not just come full circle with it?

It couldn't possibly hurt him any more than he's already being hurt as Suicide.

Lose the Metallica nonsense he wore prior to the Suicide days, get a new set of tights with some future-y graphics, slick your hair straight back and do your thing, Kaz!

Thoughts?

Note: I put this in the wrong section. Could someone please move this to the TNA section for me? My mistake.

This again huh?

I really hope they don't get rid of the Suicide gimmick. I for one like it a lot more than Kaz as himself.

The suicide gimmick allows TNA to hide the vanilla character than Kaz is in real life.

If anything, I think they just need to do more with Suicide. Have him talk more or do more with his character. I'd much rather see more development with Suicide than Kaz.

Bingo. Jackpot. Yahtzee.

Kaz is boring and bland as himself. So was Daniels, so it's not like I'm saying the guy is awful. But, what did they do with Daniels when he became too dull? They strapped him with Curry Man, and he got louder pops than he ever did before. It gave him solid promo time, he got a match a week, and showed off an entirely new side of himself. Now he's back, and any semblance of a character is long gone.

If Kaz drops the gimmick, and comes back as himself, it'll be a big fat fail. He can only carry a "reveal" angle for so long, and then what? He's got almost no promo skills, and his offense gets repetitive. The Suicide gimmick isthe best thing to happen to him...

I'm not really advocating Kaz as Kaz though, Brad. I'm saying Kaz as a new "The Future" gimmick, like you see them doing with Alissa Flash. "The Future Legend" Frankie Kazarian has a good ring... it's a shame Alissa beat him to it.

Kaz as that odd Metallica-wearing confused X-Division star wasn't much, but if they honed his character down a bit I think he'd be much more useful than Suicide.

Actually, this is a good idea...And, since he was also named a "Future Legend" by the Cauliflower Alley Club, it could work to pair them together as a "stable". Having a name like that, with a badass attitude (if he can pull it off) would be more than enough character. There'd be no need for him to work promos.

Also, Alissa Flash can help put anyone over.

He personality is no more boring than AJ Styles, and look at where AJ is in the company. He started in the same place Kaz did (in essence) and he's the face of the company. If you ask me, Kaz could very well become the face, or a face of the X-Division considering how weak it is right now. I'd certainly rather see Kaz there than Suicide.

Other than "hiding the vanilla", what is Suicide doing, exactly?

Well, Suicide was brought in to tie in with the TNA video game, and we all know how huge that thing was. Since then, a long time ago, his character has been overstaying its welcome. At first, it was cool...but now, there's really nothing left for him to do. The only time he was intriguing was when the stars of the X Division were trying to find out his true identity. I think they're trying to go that route again with Homicide.

I think the "Future" gimmick would be a good fit for Kaz. I remember back in the early days of TNA, he was "The Coolest," which I thought was cool as hell too. He is obviously talented, just give him a decent gimmick to run with. Teaming him up with Alissa Flash would be epic...perhaps a valet would be the thing to get him over. He has the potential to get over as a top guy in the X Division, maybe even the company. Look at Matt Morgan, who was pretty bland when he debuted, and is now one of the top guys in the place right now.

Kaz can get over, the suit and mask of Suicide are holding him back...

I never liked the name but like the idea, maybe not suited for a guy like Kaz. Super hero types have done extremely well in the busines, Sting, Warrior, Lod and not to mention the incredible Hulk Hogan. Hes got a lot of talent maybe get another guy in the suit.

I actually like that idea, Hank.

"The Future Legends" Frankie Kazarian and Alissa Flash. I'm not sure how TNA could get to that point from here, but I kind of like the male/female tandem thing. Both of them would still be rather fresh, especially Alissa.

What could work is the removal of the mask and a costume change. The name Suicide is pretty good. Make the character somewhere between a face and a heel... where things are not clear cut bad and good.

They hinted at whether this was the time to remove Suicide's mask tonight, which I'm glad about. To me that says there are at least tentative plans to work around him at least potentially de-masking at some point soon.

Should help to push Homicide in the process, too. Kaz is a good worker.

Wild idea. Put the Suicide mask on Austin Creed. Then, right before the unmasking, have Kazarian run in and lay out both Homicide and Creed.

Creed puts the mask back on, and Kazarian has issues with both Homicide/World Elite and Suicide/Creed.
