Do I have everybody's attention now
Let's pretend that Vince didn't get a hard-on for kids (Sounds dirty don't it?
). The Attitude Era is gone b/c the Rock has left, SC has left and now it's just...era. An empty show without a face or something to define itself. Now if you're running this joint what era, if any, would you want? Want to go PG? Want to keep Attitude? Want to go to a different direction? If you want a new era who's the face of it from the current roster (Try not to be too biased saying "I LOVE HIM! Please give logical choices.)
Personally, I'd go from being TOO edgy to being a little less edgy. Not PG for sure, but being too edgy was SC and The Rock's time and that has come and gone. My reasons are that it leaves me with a lot more to make and characterize one. I can different factions for different age group and demographics. Like, for instance I can make the "Sexiest Man Alive" contest sorta like the King of the Ring so I can get a bit more female viewers that can gawk over the guys that have not so good mic skills but a great body. Case in point: Rhodes, Ted, Morrison. I can have a male counterpart for that as well. For the championships I'd have about the same except I'd make all of them worth a shit. Like the IC would go the the one's that're talented but on a working level so that they can experiment w/ different gimmicks or moves while they're in that faction. While the US would be used for one's that're getting the feuds: One's who've mastered their gimmicks and have learned to improvise in the ring based on the move set and are getting the push but not the BEST mic skills. And finally, the MEs who have it all but very few of them and the upper midcarders will dominate the US scene. I can have a comedy jobber, of sorts like Santino as well. And finally when it comes to my face it's the one and only:
John Cena. Why? Because believe it or not, he can have a great gimmick. He can have an anti-hero gimmick. If he can do superman, he can do anti-hero as well. Which is proven as his transitional from a rapper to a hero was coming along and he literally didn't take any shit. Case in point, when Edge had his rated R championship Cena threw it in the fucking river and on the PPV dropped his ass through overlapping tables. He can play it, PG won't let him, so I'd say Cena would be my face but with a whole different attitude and a whole different gimmick along with a slightly more edgy move set.
Champions:
WWE: Cena. I know many people right now think I'm a Cena Mark. I am, but I'm not biased. It's simply that he's a face and not a legend and thereby he needs to have a title reign that's worth a shit and needs to prove his status as a future HOFer. Then he can drop it to his successor.
WHC: Randy Orton. Why? Simply because he is one of the best right now. I, personally hate him as a person but as a wrestler I adore Randy simply because of his new tweener role. Also because I'd like to establish that Randy is NOT worse or better than Cena and both of them; though bitter enemies are on equal grounds b/c both of them are in their prime.
Contention: Pretty much the remaining ME's starting from one's with the biggest pop to the lowest. Why the rest? Because whenever there's a contention only some of them are mentioned. It adds to the mystery as to who'll take it. It also gives flexibility to creating feuds when there's a feud w/ the champion going on. Though one of them surely has to be Christian.
US Title: Sheamus. Lets be honest, no matter what, I haven't seen this match botch a single move. Though I think he's got an unfair advantage as being HHH's workout buddy, I still think that a US title should be given to him because it adds to the fact that he's dominant and when they drop the title from him means that he's moved on and his sucessor can brag about beating Sheamus getting them pretty over.
Contention
Morrison: Now the only reason I put him here is because I finished the list and forgot Kofi and the Miz I think him and Kofi, and Miz are very much equal but he has a balance on Mic and wrestling style while the other two are superior of the three in only one. So it's a Rock Paper Scissor situation
The Miz: Great Mic work, okay wrestler but a good worker nevertheless he should be the top guy
Kofi Kingston: Contrasting the Miz, great wrestler, okay Mic skills he should be the third on the list
Swagger: Though he's WHC right now, I think he needs to work on his mic skills, despite his lisp which I seem to think is a handicapped but if used properly it can be ignored.
Big Show: You always need the guy who dominated in the US title run because getting through him is a tough job, and if done correctly it is great as a David vs. Goliath feud.
Kane: Well, he's the jobber of this faction because every up and comer gotta use him to be the guy to beat. He's a pretty decent wrestler and believable on the mic and popular. No doubt he should be the first obstacle for ICs to get in.
IC: Drew. He's a good guy to push. Good wrestler. CRAP on mic though. Very bad. He needs to be taken seriously despite his accent because even though I'm not concerned with the way they talk, I don't see him as a threat talking like Roddy Piper.
Contention
Rey: I don't really care for him, but he's been with WWE for a while, so it's best to give him something and it's a great way of getting over as it will provide an entertaining match no matter who you are a brawler or a high flyer.
Evan Bourne: Great Flyer, good entertainer.
Khali: You need a giant with crap wrestling skills to beat for a youngling to first get over. Why not him? If you think the guy is good to push. Put him up against him, if not give Khali a squash.
Ziggles: I can't take him seriously. He needs to prove he's got something to offer me. But still, he's done a good work improving so lets see how far he gets.
Matt Hardy: Nuff said.
Tag Titles: Hary Dynasty: They deserve it for sure.
Contention: None, sadly Crime Tyme broke up and Legacy are no more. But if the Fortunate Sons have a good tag team then yes, there should be a tag title run for them.
Each champion should have a good reign until the contenders either get more over than him or the champion starts getting stale. When they're not the champions any more, they should move on up the chain. If the WWE/ WHC are too over, give them long running, classic and legendary feuds to cement their spot in the company.
What's your opinion? Or what do you want to see? Fire away!
