The Clone Wars

it looks like shit even though itll bring in shitloads of money.....and to be honest its Star Wars how much hype does it need? either that or they realize its shit now and are trying to make people forget about it

It looks pretty awful, but it will still make a good amount of money because of the die hards. I don't think it will make a whole ton of money, but it will do very decently, and probably have the #1 spot the weekend it comes out.

Beccas kinda right...its not an epic blow your mind series IMO but I find most of the movies to be very entertaining

The only one I've seen all the way through is Phantom Menace. And apparently, that's the shit one. I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan.

You have to remember the original trilogy was first made in the late 70's, early 80's for movies coming out at that time they are an epic blow your mind series, they only people saying they are overrated are people who didn't grow up at that time, and are jaded by what they see on the screen today, Star Wars was and is not overrated, it is one of the most successful movie franchises in history and is a pop culture phenomenon, I swear kids these days think everything that was huge before they were born is overrated:disappointed:

Psycho was also classed as a great film when it first came out as well. these films may have been good for their time. But watching them now, they're not.

That's cause, as I said in my previous post, you've been jaded by all the crap you see now, Psycho was and is still a good movie, just because it was made before your time, doesn't have a budget of $800 million and a shit load of special effects doesn't mean it doesn't deserve the praise it gets

I actually love the story behind psycho. But I hate the way the film is done.

And generally, people do get used to seeing better versions of things. I mean, when you see films with animals such as Jurassic Park, you're not going to love another film about dinosaurs but with awful effects.

The movies today may look better but Psycho had a good plot and without having to use special effects and shit they were able to tell a good story by focusing on the suspense, Twilight Zone is the same way, probably one of the best shows ever on TV, simply because they don't have to rely on big budget special effects, they master the art of suspense to keep you interested in the show, movies and TV shows used to just rely on a good story, and that's all the people cared about, now days kids just want shit that looks cool, they want big money special effects and movies with blood and gore, the good story writing and suspense has been replaced by these things, they don't care about the story that is being told anymore

*Laughs and shakes his head*

A movie like Clone Wars is NOT going to beat out a movie like The Dark Knight. 17 days in, and it's already at 400 million. Mummy 3, the only movie that could've possibly taken TDK out, lost by a few million. If M3 can't do it, Clone Wars has no chance.

I have a feeling that TDK won't be defeated for a week or two more, when everybody's seen it. But it will still make tons of cash, and, hopefully, beat out Titanic as the highest grossing film of all time.

On topic, Clone Wars looks ok, but the cartoon was all the continuity that I needed. Why rewrite what's already there?

Most new movies suck ass like Justin said. Depend way too much on visual effects then actual substance in the story. The original Star Wars Trilogy owns most every summer movie that comes out. Chances are every movie you watch you owe to Star Wars in some way or another.

Oddly enough, I went to see it twice in the cinema and bought it for £15. The only recent films that got anything like that sort of treatment from me were Batman Begins, Casino Royale and King Kong.

However, I only went to see it a second time because my friend probably would have left me in an alley somewhere if I didn't. I bought it on DVD as a joke.
