the big show

Pre-Show Stalwart
maybe i am just losing my mind, but it seems to me that the big show is looking very similar to the way he did when he left for a while. when he came back he said he had lost 108lbs or so. before he left he was being announced at 500+. so he came back at around 400lbs. than out of nowhere he's said to be 430lbs. than at a weigh in he's 441lbs. and now they are saying he weighs in at 485lbs. my point is, why is it so difficult so stay in somewhat decent shape as soon as you come back? guys like orton, morrison, hell even the undertaker don't seem to have too much of a problem. how does the big show expect a serious push if he doesn't take care of himself? just one of many little things about wrestling that's bothering me. not a serious issue by any means, just curious to what you all think about it.

Well if you factor in his increasing age, the amount of pressure and stress out upon his body since being pushed to the main event of smackdown, one can understand how a man of big shows stature could have a hard time keeping reasonable weight.

About guys like Morrison: he's young and athletic and a physical specimen of a nature which we haven't seen in a while. Comparing him to the big show is like comparing a apple to a 7 foot 500 pound man. Just don't make sense.

And taker was never really heavy and prides himself on his health and fitness so he's never had an issue.

Actually I think he looks pretty much the same as he did a few years ago. I thought the WWE just BS'd that whole weight loss thing, but idk. As for Big Show gaining weight, I guess the WWE is hoping that the fans won't notice. To me it is pretty hard to notice because I just think he looks the same. But, I didn't even realize he was gaining weight until it was said on this thread.

Well road food and home food are 2 diff things, plus the drinking I'm a 5'11" gal I go between 175-and 205 when on the road, its either, saving some $$ going 2 BK or go eat good. Its all about what you want. DJJ was an one dude for another school back in gowning up, then dealing with him in midsouth, OI my ex b-friend almost got into a fight with j.hart at shooteres in MEM.

I do agree to a point. He was in much better shape when he first returned. However, people are right. Being on the road, eating, drinking with the boys, and he is aging all cause him to gain weight. As far as a push for him, I don't think he cares and why should he? Every now and then they throw him into a main event situation and build him up as if we have not been watching him for 10-15 years. Before WM they talked him up as if Cena has not killed him multiple times before. Before that his feud with the Undertaker was laugh out loud funny. UT defeated him in like 3 separte feuds since he has joined the WWE. This guy NEVER wins a feud. If you thought there was even a 1% chance he was leaving WM as champ your an idiot! If they wanted to get him over, let him destroy or squash guys for 6 months or so. Give him a title reign of 4-5 months. Legitimize this guy again. Then when someone beat him the fans might actually care. He might be the only guy who has suffered from coming over from WCW. Say what you will but WCW got that guy over big time.

I was afraid that the one thing that would hold Big Show back in his return to WWE would be a weight gain...and it's happened. He's not near as big as he was when he left (there were rumors he was pushing 530), but he's huge nonetheless. He looked awesome in his return and you'd have to go back to his WCW days to see him look better. I agree with many of the postings in here that says the rigors of the road and eating and drinking with the boys and not going to the gym enough will bring the weight back on quick but there's another factor here. I read on Wikipedia that the Big Show has Acromegaly, the same growth condition that killed Andre the Giant. He got some of it corrected with surgery but it's a constant battle and I'm afraid one day that it will get the best of him. Whatever Show did to lose the weight before better be looked into again so he can live a lot longer than the average wrestler lately.

The Big Show, to me, looks about the same as he did during WM 24. He isn't anywhere near as heavy as he was when he left the WWE a few years ago. During WM 25, when they showed some video footage as part of a build up with the triple threat match for the WHC, they showed some old footage of Cena with Show on his shoulders to deliever the FU. The announce teams keep saying he's about 485 lbs, I don't really know why, because it's just not true. I remember the show when he was that heavy and he just doesn't have that much poundage on him. He might not be quite as firm and tight as he was, but I don't really think he's any heavier. A lot of people are a bit too hard on the Big Show, in my opinion, because of his weight. For one thing, Vince wants him to be much heavier than the average WWE wrestler but, at the same time, Show's not going to have a bodybuilder-ish type of physique. I've seen a couple of old photos of the Great Khali back in his bodybuilding days and he looked downright freakish. He was much more cut now than he is today and that's because his entire life revovled around eating and exercise. In order for the Big Show to really do anything similar, he'd have to be eating and working out almost constantly in order to turn his fat into muscle and to maintain the size that Vince would want him to. It's just not possible to do with the road schedule of a full time wrestler.

As far as a push goes, I don't think the Big Show really cares either. While he was gone, every interview done with him after he left the WWE suggested that he was as happy as a bird in a tree. He'd saved his money, was careful, made some sound investments, etc. Vince must've offered him a pretty good deal to get him to come back.

Its hard for anyone to keep thier fitness level in check especially a pro wrestler, as for the likes of morrison remember what he got suspended for, the guy was talomg fairmones so comparing him to show is a big no no, the fact that being on the road and the stress levels of main eventing i dont blame show either, he is talented but does need to get his weight in check, the best way for him to do that is to start runing if he doesnt eat healthy at least he could train, the guy is huge but i disagree that he was as huge as when he left, he was in pretty bad shape before his semi retirement
