Oh, Sly, Sly, Sly. Dissecting my post immaculately. But still...
You are giving Hogan far too much credit. He was a draw, but put some some pretty poor matches. Flair would have carried the match if there had been any chance Hogan would have let him. And no, I am not saying that The Rockers are better than Sting and Hogan, just that their history as a tag team gave their feud a natural build up.
And I love the slow build. I say WWE needs to bring it back. In fact, the slow build is a reason I like TNA so much right now! But when that "slow build" has the protagonist character a) so blatantly rip off a movie from the 90's and b) spend more than a year out of wrestling action? I am not saying I was not intregued- I was, but looking back Sting should have gotten back in the ring sooner and started taking out more NWO Thugs.
Hogan and Sting were never friends nor teammates. Michaels and Jannetty were since the early 80's. Talk about a slow build! A decade as a popular tag team and the split out of no where! And like I pointed out, the matches DELIVERED!
On a separate note, thank you to whichever MOD added Hogan/NWO vs Sting to the poll above. It deserves to be ON the list. And shayx, good call on Austin vs McMahon. Rather than worry about why it "didn't make the list" though, tell me why you would vote for it.
You are right about the decade mistake, though. Point taken. I didn't realize Edge himself didn't even debut until 1998. It seems like so long ago! Edge isn't even a 10-year vet in WWE!
