What they f*ck happened in the thread section here
You know as I scoured my inbox for a walk down memory lane, I came across an old exchange with a former mod Ferbian and how we once discussed furthering my series to the dropkicks.

Oh what series you ask?

We've all grown a little older since then haven't we? YES! we still curse the smarks and still hate Madden, but for now lets just sit back and behold the magnificence that is:

What? I'd thought we could start with a little Tekno Team LOL moment first :D

So yes, The Dropkick, when done right, is a crisp move and a joy to watch. Many many have had their own variations of it but a few's have shone through and are/were oh so delightful...

^ Up there is the poll, go on click on'em and tell us all your favourite?

Here's my pick:

The first time I ever noticed that move, was when Mr Perfect did it, well, so perfectly. The elevation he gets from a standing position to execute is incredible and is still an absolute beauty to watch. Curtis gets this from his old man for sure.

I agree that Mr. Perfect had a great dropkick but I think Orton's are slightly better. Generally, they make a sweeter contact and I think his just look better. His dropkick on Kofi Kingston in an Elimination Chamber match is incredible.

Really can't go wrong with any of the names listed in the poll. Orton and Styles are probably the two best going today. Everything Mr. Perfect did was top shelf, and I'm a mark for the guy so he's getting my vote. I've got to throw in some honorable mentions, though. Jim Brunzell was a master. The Rockers double dropkick was poetry in motion. Andre the Giant and Big Show threw a mean dropkick in their younger days, of course made all the more impressive by the fact that they were mammoths.

All good, but only one was perfect- Curt Hennig all the way.

I went down the list of wrestlers in the pole and watched their drop kicks on youtube(i couldn't find Jushin's unfortunately) and I gotta say Mr. Perfect's dropkick is my favorite out of all the them because of how it was executed and how harsh it really looked.

2nd best goes to Orton in my book because he is really good at hitting dropkicks to guys while they are in the air. It's pretty cool to watch actually.

Then 3rd place goes to AJ. Looks good when it's hitting and I have an appreciation for the backflip he does with it.

John Morrison's dropkick looks almost exactly the same as AJ's. No points for him but it's something I felt like pointing out.

I had to vote for Mr.Perfect on this one...His dropkick was spot-on and always looked convincing no matter who he hit it on..He had great extension of his body when he'd jump and his timing was damn good...

One honorable mention is Jerry Lawler

The Undertaker

Fast forward to 1:25 to see Undertaker dropkick Mankind while Foley is holding the steel stairs over his head

Big Show hitting a Missile Dropkick on Viscera

Fast forward to 3:25 for the Missile Dropkick

I voted for Daniel Bryan just cause I think his has able of potential however on second thought I thought it would go to Randy Orton. Orton just gets so much air on his and when he does it it looks like a thing of beauty. Bryan is a bit more versatile with his drop kicks which is why I initially voted for him but Orton is by far more consistent and always picture perfect with his. Speaking of perfect he's in my top 3. I agree that Jerry Lawler is up there too.

Of the choices listed I believe AJ's is best. I think Styles currently has the most consistently well executed dropkick in the business today. BUT...

I chose other. Why? Because I am disapointed in you Paperghost for not even listing the man with the greatest dropkick of all time as an option.

Hint: He's from Calgary.

Alberta, Canada.

I like A.J. Styles' dropkick; it's precision from start to finish.

Although no one will be surprised to read this from me, my second favorite is Drew McIntyre's, especially in view of how hard it is for a man that big to perform it (and he's tall, too!). Drew doesn't need any steps to set it up, he gets great elevation, keeps his feet together, looks smooth in the air and connects perfectly.

Admittedly, I've only seen him use the maneuver twice, as the company is too busy keeping him as a jobber who doesn't get to display tactics as effective as dropkicks, but you'd better believe I remember the two times as if they occurred yesterday.

Dropkick, one of my favorite moves. Ask anyone that knows me and my love for wrestling and they'll tell ya I love a good dropkick. And a good superplex. I go hard for a good superplex, but that's for another time.

All the options listed, excellent choice. Cody Rhodes has a pretty one and I've been saying that from day one. Bob Holly getting some love, I dig that. Always had a nice one. And of course Mr. Perfect. Never did I think I would see him passed on my favorite dropkicks, but in the recent years that has happened. And that man is Randy Orton. Orton does it with such elegance and ease. So pretty. I can rewind and rewatch a Randy Orton dropkick until my DVR breaks. And at 6'5 he does it with such finesse, I just love it. I could go on for hours, but I think you get the point.

Austin Aries. Same as Daniel Bryan, except he does it faster.

You know the corner dropkick where they pretty much drive their legs through your face.

BTW.. Austin Aries did an insane suicide dive one time that moved the guard rail back like a foot, if he had missed he would have sailed into like the 4th row. Austin Aries does what Daniel Bryan does but even more insane.

I really wanted to find that Dive for you, but I couldn't.. so instead just bask in the greatness...

I'm going to throw a name out that will turn heads, but if you saw the dropkicks I've seen by this person, you'd understand why.

Alicia Fox.

While she makes Booker T's old finisher look blatantly terrible, she has managed to pull off some great dropkicks recently. I first noticed it during her match against Paige in the NXT Women's title tournament, and sure enough, she's been throwing them crisp and clean ever since. I would also like to say that Jay Lethal's Dropsault style dropkick is very entertaining to watch.

Gotta go with AJ because of the normal set up, which looks like it is designed to get his opponent to continually speed up - first you have the leap frog over the oncoming guy, then the dive at his feet meaning that he has to leap you keeping his motion going and throwing him that little off balance meaning that he has less chance of stopping himself despite the fact that he is about to get nearly decapitated.

Mr Perfect's was a thing of beauty but lacks the impact of AJ's and while Bryan's and Aries's might rival the impact they lack the beauty of the set up.

For set up, impact and execution; I believe that AJ Styles is the master supreme of the dropkick!

I like the height Orton gets when delivering his and it is usually on the button. Also, since it is a move sooooo many people use, being known for it, or having your own version of it is pretty rare these days. Randy Orton has used it for so long and has had it remain as one of his main moves in a time where it is somewhat watered down, that I feel he has done the move a solid. He has used it in many different ways but one thing that is similar in every Drop Kick he throws... It looks damn GOOD.

Im going with Mr Perfect because as a kid I vividly remember being in awe of the standing version. I remember telling people that nobody else could do a standing dropkick except Perfect. Then when I eventually saw other guys do the move I remember being impressed that they could match Perfect.

A couple quick points here, how did Jim Brunzell, Koko B Ware and Maven not get on this poll?

Lastly, Im a huge Bret Hart fan and, while he didn't have the best dropkick, I remember really enjoying his way of executing it. Since he wasn't a high flyer, he seemed to always do the move either out of desperation, necessity, or as a quick ace up his sleeve trick. Because of that, you could kinda see him setting it up, he'd rotate his body and turn into the kick (as opposed to jumping straight up and then kicking forward) and he'd always have his hands open and a little out like he was already bracing himself for the landing. Im not sure if I'm describing this correctly but its like Bret had an imperfect dropkick on purpose! It made sense for guys like Hennig, Brunzell, and HBK to have gorgeous dropkicks but it made just as much sense for Bret to have a less than perfect dropkick and he, ironically, did that, well, perfectly!

Anyone else ever noticed this? If not, can someone please look it up? Im pretty sure Im not crazy!
