The Best Feud That Never Happened

Re: Hogan vs DDP, they did wrestle vs Each other but not one on one. Hogan is part of The Fatal Four Way Match where DDP won the title in 99. Late that year they met in multiple tag team matches, including one where Hogan & Flair team up vs DDP & Sting. Hogan was selling a leg injury and spends 95% of the match on the sideline, only really participating in the finish.

If they would have fueded the promos might have been good but the matches would have sucked. DDP was known for an inability to improvise and typically only did well when matched with really good performers who could carry him. Hogan was limited at best at what he did but could adjust to better performers like Savage & Flair. I doubt Hogan could have made up for DDP's limitations, they likely would have had an 80s style Hogan match, 5 minutes of offense followed by Punch, boot, leg drop pin.

Bret vs Hogan in 93 should've happened but I heard Hogan didn't want to work with Bret and possibly job to him.

Edge vs Christian although they had a couple of matches it wasn't the big match it would've been today. The buildup would've been huge today whereas there was very little momentum in that very quick feud that almost goes unoticed today.

Going to go with Hart Hogan in WWE. Would have been era vs era and would have skyrocketed Bret more than he already was. Even as a kid I really wanted to see this match.. Sadly we didn't get it.

Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. Raven

Two geniuses on the mic, two masters of the DDT, and two of the best ring psychologists. If Roberts somehow found his way to ECW in the mid-90's, this would have been one hell of a feud. Just think of the promos leading up to this match. Talk about mind games!

Good call. I read somewhere that Jake DID show up in ECW sometime in the mid-90s, but just briefly. What if he had stayed longer? Those could've been lost classics. Both guys were excellent at ring psychology

The Kliq or DX vs. The Hart Foundation - If Nash & Hall had stuck around or The New Age Outlaws had joined DX earlier, I'd like to think we could we've seen this with the feud ending in 8 or 10 man Survivor Series match at Survivors.

Undertaker vs. Goldberg - Somewhere in between WM X9 & WM XX, it could've happened. Maybe Summerslam, Taker was put in a match with A-Train and Goldberg was in Elimination Chamber which they could've just saved for Unforgiven and had Goldberg win the title.

Shawn Michaels vs. Booker T - Could've been done pretty much anytime between 2002 to whatever year Booker left the WWE but I think the easiest time to put the two together was at WM 23. The two were originally supposed to face off there with Booker representing Vince & Shawn representing Trump in the Battle Of The Billionaires. I know HHH was supposed to face Cena at WM 23 then he got injured but he could've just easily been replaced by Edge & Orton facing Cena in a Triple Threat which I also heard was an option for Mania 23 at one time. This should've happened, two of the greatest singles star to come out of tag teams clashing together.

Shawn Michaels vs. Scott Steiner - Same reason as Booker-Shawn, two successful singles stars to come out of tag teams facing off.

Shawn Michaels vs. Brock Lesnar - Shawn has a history of going against big men, all of which were good feuds imo, this could've been another.

Those are the main ones I would've liked to have seen but some other random ones that come to mind are...

Chris Jericho vs. Mr. Perfect
Chris Benoit vs. Mr. Perfect
Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Perfect
Kurt Angle vs. Goldberg
Shawn Michaels vs. Goldberg
Shawn Michaels vs. Jeff Hardy
Shawn Michaels vs. Rob Van Dam
Brock Lesnar vs. Scott Steiner

Shawn Michaels vs Eddie Guerrero: I honestly think this could have been the best match ever.

Kurt Angle vs Bret Hart: Not much of an explanation needed here. USA vs Canada and the in ring work would be unreal. This could have happened if Angle did ECW in 96 and was brought into the WWF before Bret left. Unlikely but possible.

Shawn Michaels vs CM Punk: My all time favorite against my current favorite. I dont know why this didnt happen.

CM Punk vs Eddie Guerrero: There styles would mesh great together. I know they had a match somewhere in the indys (ROH?).

Jake Roberts vs Raven: Stole this from above. Good call RoyalSkull

Roddy Piper vs Stone Cold Steve Austin: Best two ever on the mic.

Stone Cold vs CM Punk: Wrestlemania this year?? Yes please

Randy Savage vs Shawn Michaels and/or Bret Hart: I love how Vince went with the New Generation but he should have kept Savage around in the mid-late 90s. He could still go and would have had classic feuds with these two and eventually with Austin.

"HBK" Shawn Michaels vs The Rock
This match would have been one of the greatest matches in history and would've been an instant classic.

well Rock got over pretty much when HBK left with his back injury, and Rock was gone from wrestling by the time HBK returned, hell Rocks final match at Summerslam 2002 was hbkS First match in 4 and a half years so this could not have happened as the guys were pretty much not around at the same time.

Hulk Hogan vs Jake Roberts could have been an epic good guy vs bad guy feud in 1991 or 1986.

This could of been part 2 to one of the greatest feuds of all time. Buzz Sawyer and Tommy Rich had a brutal feud in the early 80s that culminated with The Last Battle of Atlanta. Around 1990 they were both in WCW. I think they should of got this feud going again. They feuded before the Pay Per View era, so this would of been a great way to show a more national audience what they were really capable of.

I've got a big list, sorry lol...

Hogan Vs Bret, 1993-94. Everyone keeps bringing this up and I definitely agree it would have been awesome. Ideally it would have lasted throughout 93, and then a huge WM10 Main Event between the 2 instead of the Luger, Yoko, Bret mess that I didn't really care for.

Hogan Vs Stone Cold, 2003. This should have been the Main Event at WM19 instead of having Hogan fight McMahon.

Luger vs Savage, 1993. Face Macho Man and Heel Luger would have been awesome for this time period. I'm trying to think of an instance when they faced off in the WWF and I can't recall one.

Undertaker & Kane Vs Hogan & Macho Man - This one is totally fantasy as the years don't work at all, but could you imagine how epic this would have been?

Backlund Vs Hogan -1984-1985. I think this would have been a huge feud back in the day. Backlund's ego was the problem with it though, as he refused to lose the belt to Hogan. Would have been cool to see a heel Backlund come back and challenge Hogan after he won the belt from The Sheik. Then even have it go into the first WM with Backlund putting himself in Piper & Orndorff's corner with Cowboy Bob!

CM Punk Vs Hogan - Present day- I think this would be pretty epic in our current day. Get Hogan to come back to the WWE, get him to do something to take away the spotlight from Punk for an episode of Raw, and then have Punk lay into him saying he's the one who started all this plague of talented wrestlers being overlooked in favor of the musclebound egomaniacs. Let the promos ensue from there.

Macho Man Vs Steamboat II, 1988. It would have been incredible if Steamboat had gotten to challenge Macho Man at some point for the World Title during 1988.

Chris Jericho Vs Sting - I could be wrong but I don't recall any interaction between the 2 in WCW. Would have loved an arrogant Jericho mocking and tormenting Sting tho. If this ever did happen, please direct me to some youtube videos.

Jake Roberts Vs Roddy Piper - See above statement on Jericho and Sting. With all the years that Piper & Jake were in the WWF together, you would think they were bound to meet up at some point, but i really can't recall such a time, other than I think a brief back and forth between them in a Royal Rumble match. Am I wrong?

Ted Dibiase Vs Sting - Another fantasy one cause there wouldn't have been a good time for it to happen, but it would have been awesome.

Im sure I could come up with a bunch more, but definitely entering the area of total fantasy booker now, so I'll end lol.

I would of like to seen a Bret Hart and Randy Savage feud. That would of been an exciting feud in '93 or '94 before Macho left for WCW. It should of been, that Randy was getting tired of being a commentator and getting sick of the "new generation." He would attack Bret. They would of worked out great matches together. Randy would put over Bret and make Bret a great champion and would give credibility.

They did feud two times in 96 & 98 in WCW.

They feuded in mid-98 in WCW.

Another feud I just thought of is Mick Foley vs. Hulk Hogan. You'd have two top legends here, Foley the top legend of Hardcore wrestling and Hogan the top legend of normal wrestling and I'd have a heel Hogan call out Foley, telling him that he's a fraud and hardcore wrestling is a crock of shit, that he doesn't deserve to be in the business since hardcore is all he's good for and this business isn't about garbage wrestling. Dunno why these two never hooked it up, could've been good.

I don't recall Hogan and DDP having a one-on-one match. I remember the tag matches w/ Malone & Rodman and Leno/Bischoff, but never one-on-one. Those two would've been a HUGE main event back in the day. It's pretty lousy that we didn't get that big feud between the two.

There was two times they faced off one on one on Nitro, one was in 97 and the other in 98.

And for everybody saying Hart vs. Hogan, they've also faced off on Nitro in 98 but it was a short match and ended in a No Contest.

The first thing that came to my mind was HBK vs Rock.
HBK/Rock- that would of been epic. Their two personalities I think would still any show and wouldn’t need a title. That would of been a great feud and the matches would of been great.
Dustin/Cody- would of been a great brother vs brother respect your elders storyline plus it could have been leading to wrestle mania. You could of also put Dusty in their as a ref or something
Hart/Sting- Another one that we were waiting on. That had so much potential but Goldberg screwed everything up.
Edge/Jeff Hardy/Christian/Matt Hardy-they could of had something more special here. Especially when Matt turned on his brother they blew it. I think they should of made Matt and Edge vs Jeff and Christian and went from there.
DX/WCW(&NWO)- what if WCW left the doors open and DX drove into the arena. It would have been epic. I mean don’t get me wrong I don’t think there would of been a brawl like you would think because DX and lead members of NWO have real life friendships. But it defiantly would of been epic
