I am a huge Baltimore Orioles fan.....One of the biggest and I always have been. It tears me up inside, like it does to Cubs fans and the post season, watching my team suck it up year after year. However the point of my ramblings is not to show my destain for losing but my optimism for next season. I was looking through the Orioles lineup for next year projectedly and might I say its fuckin stacked. We have a great young team in the works. Probably the best young outfield in all of baseball with Nick Markakis and Adam Jones. We also have Luke Scott who hits the ball hard and hits the ball far. Brian Roberts and Michael Aubrey both are solid players and they have one of the best young catchers in the league in Matt Wieters. WHat I am trying to get at here is that our hitting and defense looks very good for next season as long as no big market teams come in and sign the players away. The most important thing for the Orioles this coming offseason has to be getting some solid pitching because that is their achilles heel. Pitching has been the biggest problem for the last 7 or so years with are best pitcher being BJ Ryan and hes not even a starter. So I think is they can make a few changes to the pitching lineup and maybe bring in one or two new hitters they have a goods shot at righting this terrible slump they have been in and finally getting into playoff contention.
FYI im not saying they are going to win the world series just that they wont be the second worse team in the league. I dont see them beating the Redsox or Yankees for playoff spots anytime soon.
