The 7 series

Hey there everyone. Ok so every once in a while the WWE does a best out of 7 series match.Its the ultimate challenge 2 see who is the best. (the last one I remember was Benoit vs Booker T) now my question to you is out of the entire current WWE roster,who would you like to see in this kind of match? The main thing here is that it's got to be wrestlers that would keep every match fresh and exciting. And also unpredictable. Feel free to add stipulations if you want. Here are some that I think could work very well.

Rey Mysterio vs CM Punk

Given Rey's recent suspension they could do a program similar to the Jeff one.You know the straigt edge im drug free and better than you one. Since Punk always claims to be the best it would suit him well. And I think they could pull of some great matches. I would prefer if no titles were involved. Just straight up wrestling matches.

William Regal vs Christian

These guys work really well together and with Regal's lackeys they could do matches where Regal substitutes himself with Big Ziek or Kozlov.

WWE Champ vs World Champ vs ECW champ

This could get very interesting.It could happen anytime anywhere.You could have triple threat or singles and it will ultimately crown the Undisputed Champion.

So thats my picks. What are your thoughts? Or what matches would you do?

Well, let's be honest...

The World champ vs. WWE champ vs. ECW champ would never happen... especially for an undisputed champion. I like that they have an individual champion for each brand and I think the E likes it that way too. There's no way to keep the other champs from looking weak as compared to the people who win.

I hadn't yet thought of Rey Rey vs. Punk, but I think it would be a great thing strictly based on the Punk promos alone. I don't know that it would work as a best of seven series, but a feud with Punk again pointing out another competitor's wellness program violation would be great. They have shown the willingness to put it all out there with the Jeff-Punk feud, so I like the idea, just maybe not as a best of seven. Plus, Punk's got the Undertaker and likely Batista to deal with first, unless Vince and company decide to strike while Rey's violation is hot.

I think that based on the fact that ECW concentrates more on matches, the Christian-Regal deal would work best at this point IF they went with a best of seven series. It's something I would definitely enjoy watching... as long as they DIDN'T do any substitutions with Zeke or Vlad. I think that would cheapen the whole thing, and better matches would be had by Regal and Christian anyway.

If I had my pick, and I don't, I would say let's see a best of seven series between future Hall of Famers Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels. They are both wrapped up in other programs right now, but I could see this culminating in a Wrestlemania match, series tied at three to three. Perhaps even with the loser's career on the line, if Michaels is indeed thinking of retiring soon.

The mic and ring work would be classic, and something for future generations of superstars and fans to study. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Those are all good picks but why don't we do one better.. Why not have a best of 7 series with tag teams or the women division.. Yeah it would be great for the singles division but how many times have we seen that?

I say let's see mickie jame and beth or beth and gail kim or even melina and michelle cool pull this off.. Yeah the women division isn't the greatest but these are good workers and I think can pull it off perfectly.

Now on the tag side I'd like to see Cryme Tyme and Dynasty try this out and the winner gets the tag title oppritunity. It would build both teams and have a nice decent fued between both.. Maybe even see eve and natalya go at it since I think eve has improved big time as a wrestler and think a fued inside a fued would work great thanks to a 7 series..

I would have liked to have seen Angle vs Benoit in such a series as they proved that they could work so many different types of matches with each other - mat wrestling, submission, chain wrestling, ladder matches, cage matches etc.

If we are talking about a Best of 7 Series just about pure wrestling then from the current crop, I would love to see the the newly acquired Danielson and McGuinness bring their ROH-style into a WWE. I think that that could be epic

As an angle, CM Punk vs Rey would be good and could further enhance the status of Punk as the Straight-Edge competitor.

A DVD of a Best of 7 between Christian and Regal could probably be given to everyone in development as homework.

I don't watch wrestling because I find the art of wrestling entertaining (which I don't understand why so many others do? Why don't you just watch college, real wrestling? Would you watch a fake game of football where the outcomes and major plays are predetermined?) I watch wrestling more for the story lines, I watch it like a regular TV show and am always hoping to be surprised. That is why I am not a fan of any 'best of...' series because we all know that they will go the distance. (If it is best of 3, there will be 3 matches, If it is best of 7, there will be 7). Besides the first and last match, we know who is going to win, and that takes all the fun out of it for me. (That's just the kind of person I am, I don't reread books or see movies I already have seen, I like to be surprised.)

A best of 7 series would be nice for the womens or tag team division. It would beuild a program up over time and give it some nice exposure. ECW would be really great. If not Christian vs Regal, have it against Rhyder now that he's the number 1 contender. It would really build him up for the future.

So you'd rather see bad wrestling with good storylines? I agree that entertainment is a vital role in pro wrestling, but the storytelling in the ring is far more important. Best of and Iron Man matches are used to showcase wrestlers with great in ring chemistry, and how amazing a match can be. I'd love to see a best of seven match if it was between people with great in-ring chemistry. Taker vs Kane, HBK vs Jericho, (Actually, pretty much HBK vs anybody), Benoit vs Angle, could have had good best of sevens, but they have to be able to go the distance and put on a show.

I dont think I particularly care to see a best of seven between anyone, but if I did it would have to be mid-carders, probably over a mid-card title. It shouldnt be something that dominated the show.

So maybe John Morrison vs Dolph Ziggler for the IC Title, that way you can keep them occupied for a few weeks and Dolph can get some wins to his name, with Morrison coming out on top. Failing that Kofi vs Miz, for exactly the same reasons, that way you get your best of seven and if you dont care then it's not taking up that much time. Everyones happy.

I'd like to see the Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle these two can cut a pretty good promo as well as a great match. Watch their match from No way out it's vastly under rated and over looked I'd like six more of those please.
