The 10%

Dizzy said:
Internet fans simply love to hate anything TNA does because it's not like ROH or WWE.
Dizzy, we get that you don't watch ROH, even in passing. We get that you can't make an argument without implying that some vocal minority is trying to destroy TNA/IW against the wishes of a silent majority, and that you view your role here as some valiant crusader for proper entertainment, rather than the Don Quixote of the wrestling world. We get that you don't understand that ROH is a niche promotion which caters directly and intentionally to a specific portion of the wrestling market, rather than the large companies which try to please as many people as possible. We get that there is never a specific person your diatribes are aimed at, but rather an endless array of ridiculous strawman arguments which never discuss what people are actually talking about in a thread. We get that you don't understand that 10%er is a term that has no objective definition, but is only used to insult someone when you disagree with their viewpoints and can't find any better way to express it. (By the way, I'll explain the difference between "objective" and "subjective" when you come back with "Eric Bischoff said that it means....)

But for the love of GOD, could you make ONE argument on these boards that doesn't go back to "white people go like this, but black people go like this?"

The internet fans might be the minority in the entire fanbase, but I would say that the 10% estimate is incorrect. Perhaps those of us posting on forums like this one could be estimated at 10% of the fanbase, but the online fans make up more than just us forum regulars. There's also all of the people who read sites like Wrestlezone, Rajah, or TheJohnReport but do not post. I'd estimate the number being more in the 15-20% range rather than just 10.

Now, let's take a look at those numbers. If 20% were to be the correct number, that means 1 in every 5 wrestling fans is an internet fan. That leaves the other 4 as casual fans. Casual fans know less about how the business works and will watch whatever product is given to them. They might also be friends with the internet fan(s) in their circle of peers. Anytime that this happens, odds are good that the internet fan(s) ideas will be agreed upon with the casual fans for improving the show due to the IWC knowing far more about wrestling than casual fans do. If TNA (and WWE too honestly) listened more to the ideas of the online fans and at the very least considered them, the product might improve some. After all, they are working for us when you think about it. THEY put on the shows for US. We should have a small say in how things go.
