Tell Me Lies, Tell Me Sweet ANGLE Lies?

It's...Baylariat!

Clever huh?

Anyway, I don't know if this goes in the TNA thread, but this was about Angle's parting with the WWE. Move it if you like.

On the Main WZ Site, there's a report from the Miami Herald that says Angle lied about Vince McMahon telling him to go to rehab while on the road. According to a WWE spokesperson, The WWE brass wanted Angle to go to rehab on numerous occasions for addiction to painkillers and Angle refused. It also states that Angle was mutually RELEASED from the WWE, and didn't quit on his own recognizance.

According to Angle, the story is the WWE didn't want him to go to rehab and that if he did go, he needed to do it while still making dates for wrestling events. He was barnstorming the radio waves saying this on Howard Stern and Opie and Anthony as well.

So who do you believe? Angle or WWE?

Also, does this possibly mean that Angle may not be on good terms with the WWE for a return in the near future?

It's very hard to tell who is speaking the truth here...

On one hand it would definately look bad on WWE's part if it came out that they DIDN'T want someone in rehab while offering all the talent both past and present the chance to go to rehab. HOWEVER in the WWE's defense I would like to think that they recognize serious medical/addiction problems and want their talent to get help so they can be at top form.

On that same token I can see Angle being a classic bullshit artist. Let's face it, it certainly sounds a hell of a lot better to say "oh yeah we came to an agreement on my release" as opposed to "i was addicted to painkillers and refused treatment". Kurt I honestly think had problems and lied about the "parting ways".

HOWEVER i don't feel that hurts his chances at a WWE return. WWE wants ratings and lets face it they brought in Hulk Hogan..why? RATINGS. Vince and Hulk had that huge falling out and its well known how difficult Hogan is. Hell he won't work for anyone unless he has TOTAL creative control (hence the reason the Hulk/HBK match took so long to plan out) so with that thought in mind I could see Angle coming back just to boost the ratings. As people would see that quite a few WWE talent had jumped ship to TNA then suddenly they come back after their contracts expire (case and point Christian Cage, Ron Killings, possibly Kurt Angle and others)

Either way it seems when it comes to the subject of drugs in wrestling, people are quick to try and cover their tracks. For instance, Mr. Kennedy...

There's no way to know who said what at the time of his release, but I believe that WWE must have been sincere in caring about Angle's health. If they weren't, why would they be willing to lose a huge star like him...... and be willing to forego the usual 90-day non-compete clause? I'm sure they knew that releasing him would result in Angle going straight to TNA, which he did.

I think the company believed that Kurt was going to die if he continued on the way he was and took steps to ensure it wouldn't happen on their watch.

i think angle did lie

i mean 1 min he saying how good wwe was (when he left) then he bad mouthing them at every chance he can get

he says in interviews tna get better buy rates for ppv's and better attendence when they are way below wwe in ppv sales and tna let in people for free in most shows when they cant sell tickets and make the crowd cheer and stuff through bribes

so they are other things angle lied about

onto the rehab thing, how many superstars when they have had addictions are sent away to rehab. u read reports of so and so getting sent to rehab and kept off the road, my feeling is angle refused to go to rehab so wwe took it upon themselfs to terminate his contract because he didnt wanna go and get better

wwe get a bad rap when wrestlers die of drug over doses and most of these superstars havent been on wwe tv in years, so its not wwe's falut at all with all these deaths and so on,they have offered past stars who have drug addictions for free rehab

if wwe didnt really care about thier stars they wouldnt offer people who havent been contracted to wwe for years the chance to help them

it isnt the wwe's falut seriously people should blame the people on drugs, they have a choice and they choose the wrong one,it isnt wwe's falut

there is a difference between wrestling today and wrestling back then and that is small people can be stars if they get into the fans hearts by either getting big pop's or big heat,at the end of the day wwe isnt gonna put the world title or give a push to someone who isnt getting no reaction from fans and thats the way business is,, for example in a normal business if u havent got a product that sells or customers are not interested in you dont put it out.
same as wrestling if a superstar isnt getting no reaction u dont give the push

Problem with these stories. We can hear people talk all day but only the people backstage can tell you what happened. I wouldn't be shocked to find out that both are lying to some degree. The Montreal Screwjob (between 2 guys I huge fans of) taught me there are two sides to every story and we never know who is lying or if both are.

the wwe is the winner here, everyone knows angle was a steroid freak when he first started wrestling, and a coke head towards the end of his wwe run.

worst thing about it is the wwe wont supply angle with the treatment he still needs. if you turn down rehab with the wwe, youre screwed. forever.

he also wont ever return. ever. dont think different.
