Tag Team Ideas (Teams & Matches)

Since the tag team division seems to be getting back into shape, I thought it would be a good idea for people to share their dream teams. Also, I thought it would be a good idea if we shared any ideas we may have of a possible matches for the tag team division like a Money In The Bank tag team match.

My teams

Ryback and Big Show

Allied Powers
Jack Swagger, Rusev and either Barrett or Neville

Wade Barrett, Sheamus and Magnus

Matches
Tornado Tag Team Lumberjack Turmoil
This match involves six tag teams, two in the ring and one on each side of the ring acting as lumberjacks. The first two teams (the champions and the number one contenders) fight a regular tornado style match inside the ring, once one of the teams is eliminated, the other four teams come in in order of contendership. If the champions are eliminated, they get one more shot after all the other tag teams have been in the ring to reclaim their titles.

There are a few interesting tag team ideas.

I got this idea from someone on this site actually but I thought it was worth mentioning. Call up Tyker Breeze from NXT and pair him with Fandango. They could be called "Grace and Beauty". And they could heel it up by checking each other's reflections during matches and mocking their opponents looks. I think Tyler Breeze is good enough to go a lot farther than the tag team division, but while Vince is in power I'd say a tag team is his best bet to stay relevant.

Another idea is they could return Sandow to his intellectual saviour gimmick and pair him with Adam Rose (with the Rosebuds). They could do the classic team hell-no shtick as the odd couple. Rose always trying to get Sandow to join in the party etc.

Bring up Bull Dempsey from NXT, get rid of this ridiculous new out of shape gimmick and team him with Ryno. The Bull and the Ryno is just a ready-made tag team name. You could have them run through the competition and play up the whole veteran teaching a young talent angle. Kinda like Harcore Holly and Cody Rhodes. Plus Bull is very competent on the Mic so they could actually cut decent promos together.

And that's about it off the top of my head. Not so sure about any matches I'd book. Good thread btw

A stable that I would like to see is an Evolution style team (although I would call it something else) is one consisting of the Rock, Roman Reigns and the Usos and possibly Naomi and Taminal

Oh wait.. what Magnus? your fascination is going way beyond the limit. I can see you're trying to bring the Kingdom into the WWE. So as per your idea shall we bring in Drew Galloway back into WWE to join them? And maybe William Regal to manage and Paige as their valet?

But I like the idea for the tag team match but before that WWE should bring more relevancy into the tag division and some legitimate feuds. We've the tag title match at MITB but the #1 contenders were seem to be nowhere at the SmackDown. Let's bring the relevancy back then we can go searching for new match types.

They are called 'Dream Teams' for a reason.

Anyways, it wouldn't be too unrealistic, if Magnus was to finish his run with TNA, of f TNA got canceled, he could go to NXT and get a fast track contract similar to Samoa Joe's.

But, then again, as it is meant to be a 'Dream Team', there really is no limit on who uou can put into your team.

I would like to see Cody Rhodes pair up with Cesaro, in kidds absence. The two would remind me of a brainbusters type of team. I think they'd make a great pair and have the potential and talent to be a heel or face team.

I'd also like to see Curtis Axel become a Real American with Jack Swagger. Zeb Coulter can come back and be the mouthpiece. I see them either being a heel team beating down Los Matadores and Lucha Dragons.

When and if Kidd is ready to return, he could come back and pair up with Sammy Zayn. Easy feud with cesarhodes. Cesaro you turned your back on me type of stuff. And since they are both foreign and have ties to Canada they could slide right in to a feud with axel and swagger.

Not necessarily a "dream team" but I definitely feel as though Sandow should be paired back up with The Miz. I remember Miz's promo when he predicted that Sandow would fade back into obscurity if he ever turned his back on him, and that's exactly what has happened. I always feel as though heels get over much better when there is an element of truth in what they are saying and the Macho Mandow gimmick has given Sandow a lot of ammunition for a potential heel turn. It'd be important to differentiate it from stunt double gimmick to avoid them getting a babyface reaction. I feel as though both guys have enough in the promo department to make it work. They'd also be good foils for the more comedic teams like the Prime Time Players.

The tag division has improved big time but is still at least two or three teams away from being pretty good. I don't have a lot to contribute as far as ideas but the ones I liked from above are:
Barrett and Swagger Allied Powers team. This could work and neither of them are really doing much right now.
Brees/Fandango. Let brees come up through the tag division before he goes singles.

Keep Kidd/Cesaro together. They're my favorite team right now. New Day has really grown on me and PTP are viable tag contenders.

Zack Ryder and Alex Riley ... I could see these two making a good tag team , imma fan of Alex's work down in Nxt ... Rhyno and Bull is a good one , bring up Mojo Rawley from Nxt and pair him with Jack Swagger as the New Real Americans , or something along those lines ... Mojo could be the Hype one who always gets Jack Swagger even more hype lol

A friend and I recently started a Be the Booker Challenge. We ran a draft spliting the roster. He opted for the majority of the major names while I went with potential and opportunity in building new character. I am currently unveiling a new team/stable. Riley has recently emerged on screen to expose the hypocrisy within the company. He has gone as far to verbal assult the entire McMahon family. Eventually, not entirely sure who the first physical target will be, Riley will be joined by Ryder and Fandango. Fandango will be repacked using his Johhny Curtis name. Together the trio will be known as the Rogue. A group hell bent on taking what they believed was robbed from them.

I'd like to see them bring the dudleys in as everyone would. They could put some of these teams over and do wonders for building the whole division. Also the earlier post about breeze and fandango is a great call. They could heel it up like crazy. And part of me as ridiculous as it sounds would like seeing Bo Dallas with the new day. They are all so positive and annoying.

Although they are already a team, and not really one of my dream teams, I think a good name for Harper and Rowan could be the Reapers.

Im enjoying the tag teams in wwe but more are always a welcome bonus.
A couple teams I would enjoy seeing come together are
Big E and Mark Henry in a Student/teacher sorta tag team
Alex Riley and Jack Swagger
And
Daniel Bryan and Itami

I wouldn't mind if they took away his silly gimmick and put fandango with cesaro if they don't eventually put him with Tyler breeze. Could you image the swing ending with his top rope leg drop, that would be nice.

If WWE decides to Free up some space in the division by dropping Los Matadores and sending the Ascension back to NXT, then there are a couple of teams I would like to see.

BIG SHOW & MARK HENRY
While there best days are obviously now behind them, they could still help elevate the tag team division and add some much needed experience. I would have them join the authority to begin with taking over from j and j security before having Triple H decide that he wants them as the face of the Tag Team Division.

BRAY WYATT & BO DALLAS
I think having the two brothers tag together could be amazing, obviously Bo would drop the whole Bo lieve thing and become one of Brays Followers just like Harper and Rowan were.

Then the Division would look a little like this

Two more ideas

Heath Slater and Zack Ryder as a face two man band, or they can bring back Curt Hawkins for a three-man band, and have them as faces

Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose as tweeners with an "I Don't Care" type attitude.

Just drop the Los Matadores act and allow the pair to revert to Primo and Epico. Possibly have the Reapers annihilate the bullfighters. Then really set it off by hitting Torito with a 3D on the ring steps. Primo and Epico return a bit more serious seeking revenge.

If they decided to drop Bull Dempsey's overeating gimmick, I'd like to see how he'd do in a tag team with Kevin Owens.
