Survivor Series - Goldberg VS Brock Lesnar

WWE.com announced a few minutes ago that the WrestleMania XX rematch between Lesnar and Goldberg will headline Survivor Series on November 20.

As to who ultimately goes over, I'd say Lesnar will get the win if, for nothing else, just to even things up so that Lesnar can erase the "stain" on his record. If this simply turns out to be Goldberg showing up for this single match, winning and riding off into the sunset with Vince's money, then Vince deserves to be ridiculed as it'd be one big pecker slap to the face of the entire collective male roster. Goldberg popping up after 12+ years, facing Goldberg and beating Goldberg when WWE standard bearers like Triple H, Cena, & Taker and young guys like Ambrose, Rollins, & Wyatt have failed to slay "the beast", in my opinion, just sends a very negative message to the roster.

No matter who wins, a lot of us aren't expecting a whole helluva lot from this match as it's really designed for fans who're more average and casual, or for those jonesing for some nostalgia. Goldberg was never exactly great inside the ring and Lesnar is no longer the impossibly athletic powerhouse he was 12 years back. It's always possible that these two could surprise us, hardly any of us were expecting anything worthwhile from Lesnar vs. Reigns, but I'm not holding my breath. So, personally, I'm glad this match is happening at Survivor Series rather than WrestleMania; I'd rather this be the end of it rather than a WrestleMania rubber match, though I won't be at all surprised if Vince goes that route if he thinks the match comes off well.

I'm expecting this to deliver. Unless they want to humiliate Goldberg then they should have a fully planned out match where nothing is left to chance.

Both these guys can go fuck themselves. Their match at Wrestlemania XX is the most God awful piece of garbage I've ever seen. And it was so bad because neither guy cared about delivering. Brock has said on several occasions he doesn't care about the fans. I have no desire to see this match. "Well things are different now" They might be. But both guys showed their true colors at mania and I lost all respect for both guys

Goldberg is much older and Lesnar's move-set has been reduced down to suplexes. I don't expect this match to be any better than there match at Wm 20.
This will probably be Lesnar's most competitive match up since Reigns, but it won't have any different outcome than what we've seen from Lesnar the last 3 years.

Well I know Goldberg has and still trains MMA. I'm sure we will see a spear and jackhammer but I'm expecting this match to be physical with aspects of MMA thrown together. I'm not expecting a masterpiece but I do believe this match will top their WM 20 match.

I loved Goldberg in WCW as the badass face he was. His WWE run was forgettable but still the return is quite big as it is going to happen after 12.5+ years.

I have problem with result going either way. That's why I didn't want this match again. If Goldberg wins and leaves, the rub off Brock is wasted. If Brock wins just like against Ambrose or The Undertaker, then it would make me sad.

Because both of these guys don't need a victory in this match.

And since I have left watching Brock's matches, this would be the last match I watch and that too if it's competitive enough.

It should be a physical match. If rumors are true about the Taker vs. Goldberg match at WM 33, Goldberg has to go over.

I'd say Brock gets the win. You don't have him run through your established talent (Orton, Ambrose) just to lose to a part timer.

But the issue remains...both Brock and Bill are both part timers so in lies the question of who should go over?

If Goldberg goes over then what does that do to Lesnar's credibility? I mean Lesnar he hasn't taken a clean loss in over 3 years...his last clean loss where he was pinned in the middle of the ring cleanly especially one on one was WrestleMania 29 when he lost to Triple H and ever since then Lesnar has been on a virtual tear

I mean his losses against Rollins at WrestleMania 31 and Battleground were not even clean losses it was because of interference more or less especially his match at Battleground because of The Undertaker

And then his SummerSlam 2015 loss against Taker he didn't even technically lose because he didn't tap out to Hell's Gate he passed out in the hold but at the same time he had Taker beat in that match...Taker's shoulders were on the mat but somehow he got the win

So I say Lesnar goes over Goldberg here at Survivor Series...Goldberg going to Suplex City

Pretty interesting case here. First off I don't believe it's going to be bad as people are fearing. I actually think we are in for something special. I'm optimistic but they two are pretty well documented friends and Goldberg is doing this for his son so I am expecting them to give it all especially to erase people's memories of the WrestleMania XX match. I have faith it will be good, but if not then oh well.

As for the match itself, every instinct I have and all logical signs point to Lesnar winning. Issue with that is, does Goldberg really come back after 12 years just to lose in what is supposedly his final match? I know he is doing it for his son to see him wrestle, but you would think he would want his son to see him WIN. If he does though, it's a huge waste of what they have been trying to accomplish with Lesnar by eventually having someone take him down.

Basically I have two thought processes for this. One, I don't believe Goldberg, someone known as being quite an asshat when it comes to business with pro wrestling, would come out of a 12 year retirement for his son to see him wrestle just to lose. Two I find it hard to believe WWE would waste the win over Brock on a part timer they were never particularly fond of to begin with. I might just be overthinking and bringing Goldberg in is a way to fight Lesnar is a way to promote the video game and Brock has another huge name to add on his already impressive list of destruction.

I don't think Goldberg's just here for one match, I think he's gonna be around at least till mania, and he is one person taker's never met during the streak,

If the streak had been intact they could have had a streak vs streak booking,

Yeah, after Rusev showed up on Monday I'm starting to think this won't be Goldberg's only match. I'm feeling Rusev costs him this one, then we get a match between the two at Roadblock before Goldberg possiblyou has a final match at Mania.

I would want Brock to win because it doesn't make sense to him losing to a non-full time wrestler but this is the WWE.

I got Goldberg getting the clean win. Goldberg probably got a title shot in his contract. Faces KO at Royal Rumble. Meanwhile, Brock can return whenever, beat up a random tag team and he'll have his heat back going into WM season.

I want to have high hopes for this, and I'm hoping the match delivers, but there's still the lingering problem with Goldberg's possible ring rust. Who knows. Maybe he'll surprise everyone, but I think back to Batista's return run a few years ago. On the outside, it looked like the guy was in great shape, but he was clearly gassed and out of breath in the Rumble and his matches with Alberto Del Rio. It's okay to pull the "shit happens" card with Goldberg's slip on Raw, but it'll be interesting to see, if he still has enough gas left in the tank to deliver a competitive match.

If it's going to be another Suplex City match, then I can't say I'm all that excited about watching Lesnar dominating the match with a barrage of German suplexes, one F5 for a kick out, and another F5 for the 1-2-3. Hopefully, the powers that be will allow these two to beat the piss out of each of other, but I have my doubts.

As far as the winner goes, I have to believe they'll end this with some kind of screwy finish to protect Brock. I think it was a few days ago, but I remember reading something on the main page about Lesnar and Rusev having a match at a live event in Mexico next month. Maybe that's a sign for Rusev costing Brock the match with a sneak attack on Goldberg for the Jackhammer on Raw, and Lesnar pummels Rusev at the Mexico show for revenge.

Since Brock Lesnar was drafted 5th by Raw, 8th overall, Goldberg should have “signed” with Smackdown as the greatest free agent acquisition that Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan could get. That would have added to the Raw vs. Smackdown theme that the seem to be going for…half @$$ed.

As far as the result goes, it doesn’t matter to me who wins, as long as I get to see these two incredible entrances at least once more. The simple fact that this match is happening in 2016 should already make up for their WrestleMania XX match. I’m really excited for this rematch.

I'm finding this really hard to call. I can't see either man losing clean. I can't see Goldberg being brought back for 1 PPV only to have him lose. I also can't see Lesnar losing to someone who hasn't wrestled in over 10 years.

Personally I can see someone costing Lesnar the match and whoever that is will be his Wrestlemania opponent. It's the only way the match can end without someone looking weak in my opinion.

My guess is that Lesnar will win this bout, whether by hook or by crook, and it'll be used to set up a rubber match for WrestleMania. It's only a guess and if it comes to pass, it's exactly what I'd hoped wouldn't happen. Even if this match blows and sucks simultaneously, Vince will all but hold the commentators at gunpoint to make them rave about how epic of an encounter it was, how much of an incredible classic. After all, it's ultimately about what Vince thinks is "best for business" and that sometimes means doing something that he is interested in regardless of fan interest.

Like most, I don't have high hopes for this match but, also like a lot of other people, I'm clinging to a small bit of optimism that the match will at least be passable enough so that I'm not embarrassed afterward to have watched it.

The fact that Goldberg keeps going on and on about just being here because he wants to wrestle in front of his kid makes me think he's going down, maybe not easily, but cleanly. I was always of the opinion that if Goldberg ever came back, he would only do so with the stipulation that he wins whatever match he's involved in, but now, after actually listening to him talk, I don't think that's the case. It does legitimately seem like he only came back so his family could see him in all his glory just once... protecting the character and winning doesn't seem as important to him anymore.

Plus, it's Lesnar. Goldberg already beat him once and by the way Bill's talking, this is definitely his last match in the WWE. So yeah, I'm almost positive that Lesnar takes this one cleanly, but of course, I could be wrong. I almost always am.

Where is the money in this match? A video game? Are a larger audience going to sign up for the WWE Network after what we've seen or heard from these two and Heyman so far? It's doesn't seem that way but I don't know. Goldberg has done a good job with his promos and the Buffalo crowd was showing him a ton of respect last night. Lesnar is back to being his pre-title reign heel character and Heyman has been fine but not his best.

I see Lesnar winning cleanly in a contest that doesn't reach the intended hype but instead runs parallel to what this feud has been, lackluster. I take Goldberg at his word that this is a one shot deal.

First off, Goldberg looks really great for a guy his age, especially since he's been out of the game for 12 years. Ring rust will be an issue I guess, especially since he was never the smoothest worker to begin with.

I actually expect a more balanced matched than a typical "Suplex City"-drivethrough, but not a really long fight. I could actually picture each guy hitting the other with one big move, and then both stay down for a while... trade a few big hits there... and ultimately, one guy wins.

My pick would be Lesnar, as it's pretty uncertain if Goldberg's going to stick around for more than one match. I'd personally like to see him enter the Rumble for a cool moment, and then have some farewell match at Wrestlemania.

For this match, I could see Goldberg perhaps getting distracted (maybe Paul Heyman walks over to his family sitting ringside and he gets mad), and Brock can surprise him with another F-5 to get the win... however after the match, Goldberg comes back and Spears/Jackhammers Lesnar for the "feelgood moment".

In any case, I guess the match will be better received than the WM20 match, which wasn't that bad as a match, but since the crowd sh*t on it, it sucked... With this one, people are now more adjusted to "part-timer performances" with appearances from Lesnar, Rock, Taker and also Triple H, so I guess they won't mind so much - even if they know that Goldberg is just back for a "one off".

As a huge Goldberg mark back in the day (hey I was like 13 years old when he made his debut, so still quite easily impressed haha), I enjoy seeing him back - even if it's just for one match.
