Summer Slam:The Return of War Games?

First of all I would like to say please do not merge this with the Team Cena vs Nexus discussion. This thread involves talking about the type of match rather than random outbursts about Bret Hart or the Great Khali being apart of Team Cena.
So on with the actual discussion...

Tonight on raw John Cena created a team to take on the Nexus. However no information was given on what type of match it would be. Now there are plenty of options as to the type of match.

-Maybe a Battle Royal or a Royal Rumble where either everyone starts out at once or are introduced by countdown.
-Maybe an elimination type match were another oppenent joins after one is pinned or submitted.
-Maybe a 14 man tag match(i really hope not) or maybe a 14 man hell in the cell(holy shit that would be crazy)

But none of these come close to the epicness of one match that hasn't seen a ring in over a decade. Yes...many have talked about it and there has been talk of bringing this epic match back to the wrestling world. This match is no other than the Famed NWA/WCW War Games match.

An epic 2 ringed steel encased arena built to settle the difference between two teams. 2 man start and the match cant end until every one is in and the only way to win is make your opponent/s give up.

This match is perfect for this feud between these two rivalries. The new group Nexus have been causing chaos...a group of veterans stand together to stop them(heels and faces). Wargames would be the perfect place to settle it. Theres lots of space for lots of action but theres no escaping the confines of the cage. Someone has to win and someone has to lose.

So Questions

Do you think that the War Games match makes sense for such an event?

If not, which match do you think is best suited for this huge 14 man event?

solely, because Bret hart's in the match, I'm going to with unlikely but possible, since Bret can't take many bumps it would depend on whether there would be weapons in the cage or not.

But I'm thinking it will more likely be a standard 14-man tag or a survivor series style match. the former more likely since the elimination match would really eat up some time. this way they can just have Bret make short periodic tag-ins, picture what they did with Jimmy Snuka at WM25.

FYI, before anybody thinks anything, I am a HUGE Bret hart fan but we haven't really seen him take anything more than a punch in the 2 matches he's had since he's been back.

gamefreakshow is right, if it was someone other than Bret Hart, someone like the Miz or Evan Bourne, then I can definitely see that happen. With Hart in the mix, I see a 14 Man Tag Team match, tagging in, not Elimination but would be cool to see. I can't wait to see Jericho and Edge working together, that's a new one I haven't seen since they were WWE Unified Tag Team Champions.

If there was ever a storyline to get War Games back into the public perception, this is the one in my personal opinion. The Nexus vs. Team Cena would be an interesting concept to utilize within the War Games parameters. Even Bret Hart, as limited as he is, could be the last man to enter the cage as J.J. Dillon was when the original War Games were taking place. This would mean he would take the least amount of shots in the match, considering that he actually competes against Nexus and isn't revealed as their backer. Hart could just work on someone on the corner or have someone else work him in the corner until the appropriate spot comes up to do something else.

I don't know, however, if Vince will bring back the concept or ask Bret to even step into that type of a commitment in a match even for a few minutes. I think it is probably more likely we will get a regular 14-man tag team match to avoid putting Bret in any long-term physical commitment.

War Games will be for Survivor Series. We'll get the standard tag match at Summer Slam, one of the members of team Raw will be a traitor and cost them the match, leading to War Games later on. Probably be Bret that turns out to be the traitor. Then he can lead this new crew and get revenge on Vince or something.

I'm guessing you're not the Shockmaster I remember from back in the day... even though you kinda type like him and seem to have the same affinity for old school wrestling... hmmm...

In any case, it's a great idea and it would make total sense if they could find a way to take bret out of the match. I was thinking about how they would pull this off and a 14 man tag match or battle royal or any variation just didn't seem like it would work, and elimination matches are coming with Bragging Rights and Survivor Series in a few months. War Games would be freaking perfect!

Love to see war games return but for survivor series team nexus (Barrett,Otunga,sheffeild,gaberal and cena will be the trator) vs. team WWE (edge,R-truth,morrison,jericho and HHH returns for war games.
