So I did a thread for the most anticipated summer releases in 2012, and it's that time again! No Avengers, Prometheus, Spider-Man, or The Dark Knight Rises this year, but I am excited for a handful of summer releases in 2013. A short list of my picks:

Oblivion- It's a big time release, so I'll lump this one in with summer juggernauts. I watched Oblivion this past weekend, and I really enjoyed it. Not enough of Morgan Freeman for my taste, but Cruise is strong in the leading role. It's an entertaining sci-fi/action flick, and Cruise is starting to gain some momentum again, so I can forget about Knight & Day now.

Kick-Ass 2- Honestly, my excitement level kind of died after watching the red band trailer a few more times. I have Kick-Ass on DVD, but I'm really, REALLY worried about the absence of Nicolas Cage here.

The Great Gatsby- It's known DiCaprio plans to take a break from acting, so unless I'm missing something, we won't see any more movies from DiCaprio after Gatsby and The Wolf Of Wall Street for a while. Mesmerizing trailers, and a top notch cast. The Great Gatsby is my number one most anticipated film for 2013.

Pain & Gain- The trailers are horrendous, and Michael Bay is directing, but Pain & Gain could be dumb fun.

Pacific Rim- Apparently, a war of words erupted between Guillermo del Toro and Michael Bay after Bay tried to draw comparisons to Pacific Rim and Bay's Transformers films. Well, I have faith in del Toro, and he's a more talented director than Bay. So, yeah.

The Conjuring- James Wan is directing. That's all I need.

RED 2- Loved the first film, and Malkovich is back.

Also, feel free to post any other choices that are not on the poll.

The Great Gatsby - I adore the book and I hope to God that Baz Luhrmann can do it justice. The cast list looks great and I can't wait to see DiCaprio portray Gatsby. The trailers look beautiful and I'm eagerly awaiting it.

Now You See Me - The cast for this looks phenomenal. Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Mark Ruffalo and more. The concept looks very good and the trailers have me wanting to see more. A definite must see for me.

Monsters University- I don't care how it makes me look, I cannot wait for this. I adored the first and is probably my favourite Disney movie ever. I just hope the second can live up to the expectations.

Kick-Ass 2 - Although the trailers don't have me too excited, I've still got hopes for this movie. Hopefully Jim Carrey can put on a good performance and get back to his 90's humour. The story seems fun and it looks like my boy Clark Duke may get a little more screen time.

Iron Man 3 and The Wolverine have my interest as do a few others but these 4 are my most anticipated summer films.

I didn't know they were or already have made a RED 2. I've asked ask the people I know if they've watched the first movie and all they say is ‘what's that'? It's an awesome movie that's what it is. I really enjoyed the first one so now I'm definitely looking forward to the second one for sure.

The other movie I'm looking forward to watching is the newest Monster's Inc. movie to come out. I think it is something called The College Years. It's bound to be funny as I am a huge fan of the first movie. It was well played, week written along with cute and very funny. I expect this movie to be the same if not better.

Iron Man 3, just for the fact I've watched the first two and now I'm awaiting to see this one. It shall be good hopefully.

Edit: TLC had posted the title, it's called Monsters University. I agree with him, age don't matter whether a carton movie is for you or not. All that matters is that we're entertained by the movie itself.

Monsters University, Iron Man 3, Hangover 3, and The Great Gatsby are all on my list for this summer. Monsters U should be hilarious if it's anything like the first movie, which I was a huge fan of. Iron Man 3 is the type of movie you go in there just ready to see some shit blow up, I'm always ready to watch something blow up. Hangover just has the perfect chemistry between the cast and I feel like goin on a road trip with them would be legitimately funny. Great Gatsby I want to see for the simple fact that when I was in the 11th grade I was supposed to read this so called "classic" novel, but it was boring as shit so I never did. I want to see if the movie will be any good.

I'm not sure when Despicable Me 2 comes out, but I will be there as well. For some reason I love that movie. Hunger Games 2 is a must see for me as well, because again, I like watching violence.

Just thought of something a few hours ago.....May is really stacked with a lot of heavy hitters this year. The trailers for After Earth still bore me, but it's still a big time release:

Iron Man 3
The Great Gatsby
Star Trek Into Darkness
Fast & Furious 6
The Hangover Part III
After Earth
Now You See Me

I mean, we're getting Man Of Steel, World War Z, and This Is The End in June, but May is really stacked from top to bottom.
