Hulk Hogan's Brother
Stop asking me what I'm gonna do!!!
Well, I don't know what other title I can give to this thread.
It is a no-brainer that wrestling fans love seeing something that they have never seen before. When a wrestler does something cool, he takes his first step towards superstardom. It is not an easy thing to do, especially in this day and age. It has got to be something that makes even the most jaded smark go "WOW!!That was awesome". Now instead of rambling like a madman, let me give you some examples.
Example 1: Austin counting the pinfall with Mr. McMahon's hand at Over The Edge 1998.
This one needs no explanation. It was the classic scenario where the deck was stacked against the babyface and somehow Austin got the better of Vince once again. This propelled an already rising Austin to stratospheric heights. It was a really cool spot that had never been seen before and it worked like a charm.
Example 2: Eddie Guerrero lying, cheating and stealing his way into our hearts.
It was a great gimmick and again something that we had never seen before. Eddie cheated the hell out of everybody and did it in such an entertaining manner that he became a huge babyface. Who can forget him stealing the win from Angle at WrestleMania 20?
In recent times too, there have been spots that everyone remembers. Shelton Benjamin may not have had a storied career but everyone remembers him getting superkicked by HBK while he was airborne. The same could be said about Evan Bourne. So cool spots can never be a bad thing.
So what type of spots would you like to see? Here are my suggestions.
Suggestion 1: We all know how the MITB winner cashes in on his briefcase. He rushes in after the champion has had a long, grueling match, hits his big move and VOILA! we have a new champion.
What I would like to see is the champion disqualifying himself in this situation. MITB winning heel rushes in, face champion rolls out, heel follows and the champion gets a chair and beats him up for the DQ. There goes the MITB shot down the drain. Just imagine Rollins and Ambrose in this spot. Can you imagine the type of reaction Ambrose would get after this?
Suggestion 2: This is also about the MITB briefcase. Let us say that the guy holding the MITB case gets injured( real or worked) and for some reason has to cash the MITB on the last day the contract is valid. He does so in a long match but the champion weasels out somehow by saying that the challenger made the pinfall after the year was over. Basically the time limit for the cash in has expired and the MITB case winner can no longer stake his claim. This type of a situation could lead to a great double turn.
So both my suggestions have something to do with the MITB. That isn't a surprise, I guess, because it is always something cool that leads to something cooler.
So what spots would you like to see? Let us help the bookers out a bit.
