RIP Sgt. Michael Paranzino / RIP CM
They're annoying. Like the people who upload DVDs to something like Rapidshare or MegaUpload, and end up uploading the file as something like "MovieName.avi.2"... .2? That's not a fucking file extension, .002 is, but not .2. Thanks, I was really looking forward to downloading that film, but now instead I've got a few useless files at 700 MBs a piece. Good work.

Discuss people's stupidity, and how it's slowly killing your spirit and making your father's shotgun look more and more appealing every day.

The wing-span on that shotgun really makes it seem all too intimidating. Daddy needs a handgun.

Wait...

You're telling the world you're downloading films (probably illegally), and that you don't look at the file extension before you download 700 MBs worth of files, many of which could very well be viruses? And then you call them stupid?

:disappointed:

Public domain.

I did, but I decided to give it a shot anyways, thought maybe there was the possibility the files just needed to be joined using something like HJSplit.

Definitely not viruses, the forum I got the links from is about as reliable as they come. Except, of course, the intelligence of whoever it is that uploaded those files.

Sorry Grandpa Edgar.

Happened to me the other day:

I'm at a bar, drinking with my ex and the chick I'm currently working on getting with. So, I start playing music on the Touch Tunes. Me and the girls love Flogging Molly, Dropkick, Kittie, and the Pogues. After I chose those songs I deemed appropriate, I decided to play Jonny Lang and Tal Bachman. Some douche bag walks over to me, getting pissed when he said Bachman was Duncan Sheik, and I corrected him. So, for the rest of the night, the guy kept trying to challenge my music knowledge (which in my circles is a no-no). For his troubles, he got kicked out by the bartender. The basis, never cock-block the Dewey. So, y'know, I got my bit of revenge.

X, what movie was it? It's gotta be a silent, or early talkie to be in public domain.

Actually a whole lot of talking films are in the public domain, a lot of films from the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s. Night of the Living Dead is one of the most famous public domain movies.

The film I was downloading was Roger Corman's The Terror. Bit hard to find, atleast in a somewhat decent quality.

I just buy 'em from a local Flea market for 2 dollars. The quality is low as hell but helps a lot in making the decision of buying the DVD once its released. As for stupid people, well... It annoys me deeply to go to "El Meson"(sorta like Quiznos). Every time I order, I always mention I want a medium sized Coke yet the stupid broads in the counter flawlessly ask: "Would you like a soda with that order?". :wtf: I just said I want a medium Coke. The worst part is that it happens every time I order in those restaurants. What? Did they hire the Stepford wives or something?

See, I was basing it off of some (obviously) archaic copyright laws I learned in my Broadcasting Arts class. Unless all those directors entered them into public domain of their own accordance, which is very possible.

Don't think I've ever heard of The Terror, though. What's it about/who stars?

It stars Boris Karloff and Jack Nicholson (one of his first films). I'm not really sure what it's about outside of what IMDB and Wikipedia says, but it's one of the few Corman flicks left that I haven't seen yet. Francis Ford Coppola also assisted on the directing, as he was a protege of Roger Corman (along with Martin Scorsese and James Cameron among others).
