Stuart Scott </3

A valiant battle for sure. It seemed like the man had been battling his cancer for a very long time. Saddened to see him pass away. Definitely one of the better Sportscenter guys, he will surely be missed, especially when you consider the state of ESPN at the moment.

He always seemed so positive through this whole thing and his speech at the espys hit home for me as my dad passed away from cancer. Incredibly entertaining. Shame. RIP.

This hit me hard, and it's a rarity this happens when a celebrity passes away. Stu was and always will be the man. RIP, Mr. Scott. He's what made me an ESPN fan. A true trailblazer indeed.

I got choked up watching Rich Eisen talk about his friend. Like most of us, I'm a sports fan of that generation that came of age with those guys, and hearing Stu Scott call basketball highlights was like NBA Jam come to life. He was a trail blazer, and even those who didn't like his style have to acknowledge his impact on sports broadcasting. He hung in there long enough for his girls to grow up knowing their dad, and to fight for as long as he did while still working/parenting/living as much as he did is downright inspirational.

I don't usually get bothered when celebrities pass away. This one was like a punch to the stomach.

I'm fond of comedians and people that make me happy. I cried when Robin Williams died, when Chris Farley died, and a few others, but I'm in total shock Stuart Scott's no longer going to be on SportsCenter. I've probably watched SportsCenter since I was allowed to watch TV and had ESPN and him and Rich Eisen were just as good as a team as Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann. Probably better, IMO.

I bet if God asks him what he's doing here, he'll say... "Well, you told me to RISE UP! And here I am."

No more cancer where you're at, Stu.

He was as cool as the other side of the pillow.

“And the Lord said you’ve got to rise up!”

That and "see.. what had happened was..." are my faves.
