Streak vs. "___"??

Now I think it's pretty obvious that from now on, whoever the Undertaker is facing at wrestlemainia "the streak" will be part of the storyline.

but with the streak getting so high, like we seen this last year HBK had to put his career on the line.

My question is, will every opponent that taker faces from now on have to put something on the line? (unless of course he faces champions until he retires, which i hope doesnt happen)

I dont really see the Undertaker making people retire every year, but I dont see how the Undertaker will be putting up his streak w/ nothing really to gain from it, and everything to lose.

What do you guys think?

Well most likely he will face people near the end of their own careers (Maybe Triple H, possibly Jericho since he has sorta had a fall out with managment but has been a good worker, etc.) and it will be a career match, maybe a few streak versus hair matches (versus edge) but yes it will likely be a Streak versus _____ match from now on, most likely not another championship title until possiblely his last one (where he loses) the streak is like a title, and the most prestigious, no one has beaten The Undertaker "for it"...

What does Undertaker have to gain? He has done it all, and having someone to put their career or hair or title on the line is just pointless. We know he will always win (hopefully). Why not just have him face a wrestler with nothing but a new victim to add to his other victims? Just have a regular streak threatening match. Every once in a while I would like to see a career vs. streak match but not every year.

I agree, I dont want see a streak vs career every year, and i would like to see just a normal match most of the time. so i see ur point zigglerfan.

I don't think Undertakers future WrestleMania matches necessarily have to be billed as streak vs something matches. I mean, if he is competing on the card then the streak is going to be on the line by default. Any WM match he competes in will automatically result in the streak being on the line. I just don't think that it has to mean that his opponent has something on the line as well. Personally, I would like to see Cena vs undertaker, at WM 27, simply because it has not yet happened and time is running out.

I'd rather they use the Undertaker to build somebody up. Punk, Swagger, Miz, Morrison, Seamus, even Orton could all use ending the Undertaker's Streak to build their credibility as a headliner.

It's time. Taker isn't going to be around much longer. Having the Undertaker retire undefeated is squandering an asset. And having the Undertaker face Edge or Jericho or Kane (again) at this point--why? Who has been waiting for that matchup? Even Taker-Cena, which is a matchup we haven't seen on a big stage if we've ever seen it, isn't a matchup that people have been clamoring for. If somehow WWE could snatch Sting or Hogan from TNA, then I could see that as a dream match/rematch that would be worth doing. But Cena doesn't gain anything from beating Undertaker, and Undertaker doesn't gain anything from beating Cena. It would be a hell of a match, but WWE needs to create the future stars.

WWE has built up the Streak, and has done business by selling the streak. It's worth some number of WM PPV buys, it adds to the Undertaker as an attraction, etc. But those are declining assets. It's time to get out of the Undertaker streak business and into some new product line.

Job out the Undertaker next Wrestlemania, and not to Cena.

I don't think it has to be streak vs ??? Really until HBK, it was always just the Undertaker beating people. I think they should get him to 20 and then either end it or make him lose. The thing is for the last two wrestlemanias Undertakers match has been the best thing on the card because he was up against the showstopper. There is no one on the roster at the moment that would be plausible to beat the Undertaker. And on a personal note, unless HBK came back to fight him, I wouldnt bother watching the match, Undertaker is going to win so why bother paying to see a obvious outcome.

yeah dude, um Undertaker feuded with cena on smackdown before cena wnet to raw...

I think that Undertaker should face someone who ISNT really an established maineventer... someone like ziggler or JoMo. these people need something like that for there career... Cena doesn't need to face undertaker.

I think its a good point. Since they made such a HUGE deal about last year, facing 'Taker at 'Mania is going to be held as a privilege. And as such, its gunna be one you have to be willing to sacrifice for. I'd imagine every Undertaker match at Mania will now carry either an intensely personal storyline (Kane, 'Vegitative State) or it'll be someone looking to 'beat the streak'.

I can't say I agree, entirely, about guys like Ziggler or Jomo. While it does establish instant credibility, longtime fans wouldn't find it really...convincing. It doesn't have to be a HHH or anyone like that, but it needs to be someone who can come in as a legit threat.

Well i guess from now on the best way to bill it is just Up and coming stars trying to make a name frmo themselves and trying to take over UT's "yard" i wouldn't mind seeing another Legend vs LegendKiller's Match at WM or a Loser Leaves Smackdown

I think he was saying that they haven't had a WM match. Also Why does it have to be someone who "needs" the match. John Cena and Undertaker are 2 huge WWE superstars who haven't had a 1 on 1 match since Cena became the face of the company. That would be something that would get people to buy the PPV, not Taker vs Dolph Ziggler.

I dont think there has to be something else on the line to get people to care about his match. If the feud build up is good and the opponent is someone relevant people will watch it just as much as they would with his opponent putting something on the line. Either way The Undertaker will be adding another match to his undefeated streak.

Yes i see the piont save the undertaker streak for someone new. But think about it wht makes the undertaker different then any other hall of famer. Something that Hogan,Piper, any member of the hart family, or even other hall of famers don. None of them were undefeated. If wwe valued the career of Taker they wouldnt allow him to loose.

Besides here is a lil fact the dead man has never had to defened a championship at wrestlemania. Think about it....its like a double jinx if someone were 2 win the royal rumble and taker wins the chamber that can come up as a perfect storyline right there.

I think that it is better when it's just the Streak, it gives as more focus on the streak possibly being stopped on that night. As when you have something else on the line it takes something away from it and all the focus on the match isn't about the streak which is the reason why the guy is facing Taker.
