Stings WWE Theme Music

Dark Match Jobber
With the rumors of Sting possibly debuting with the WWE at Wrestlemania XXX or the night after, what do you think his theme music should be if he does?

I cant see "A Man Called Sting" fitting with the current look/gimmick that he has. I also dont know if any of his Crow gimmick theme songs are familiar enough to get a good reaction. A new theme would have little to no reaction.

I can see just some images shown of him or the scorpion logo on the titantron. Maybe even a glimpse of him, but eventually if he's gonna wrestle, he needs a theme. What do you think it should be?

The Crow gimmick theme is the only logical one, because that's the gimmick he's gonna have to portray if he has a match with Undertaker.

And don't worry about people not being familiar with it, because I guarantee that crowd will mark the f**k out when his theme plays (if it does), and I know I will. Can't wait! :D

It would be awesome if he used the Woodstock 1999 live version of Seek & Destroy by Metallica, but I'm not sure if WWE and Metallica have any exclusivity deals or contracts between them. I know WWE used St. Anger as the theme for Summerslam 2003, Triple H used For Whom the Bell Tolls at Wrestlemania 27; most recently they used The Memory Remains at Wrestlemania 28 whilst the cell was being lowered.

Yet they still edit out Enter Sandman on any WWE owned ECW PPV which quite frankly takes away a lot of the impact of The Sandmans entrance. I'm not sure if thats the case on the Network as we Brit's are yet to have it.

I'm sure someone else is more clued up as to the reasons to why and why not.

Slightly off topic and out of curiosity, how many other Metallica fans became fans through The Sandman?

i believe the ecw version is edited because of paul heymans deal at the time (or lack of deal for that matter) heyman had the right to use the theme but not on reproductions, such as the ecw dvds that came out for a month or so before wwe bought ecw

Do it Jericho style.

turn out the lights, ominous music with a crescendo... then the scorpion logo on the screen.. **pop**

I see it going like this, after Undertaker beats Brock Lesnar, and taker is up Sting WCW crow theme plays and they show him in the rafters pointing his bat at Undertaker as the show goes off the air.

I agree. I could see Taker beating Brock, lights going out, crow theme plays, Sting is in the rafters pointing to Taker with his bat, then points his bat at the Tron that is showing "22-0"

He'll use the original Crow theme. WWE just released an album with the song on it. Jimmy Hart composed the song and he's now working with WWE again, so there won't be any copyright issues or anything. Undertaker uses his original song and it'll only be fitting that Sting once again uses his original song. I'm sorry, but rock music just doesn't fit the Crow gimmick. Can you imagine the current Undertaker gimmick being paired with Limp Bizkit? Yeah, me neither.

The crow theme is the only real option. That is the character people want him to portray and it is the best theme and character they could use.

What cd are you talking about? I don't see one with Stings theme on it.

Surely it would be intelligent to use the theme used by Sting at the peak of his and WCW's international popularity? That being the 1996-1999 one composed by Jimmy Hart.

I wouldn't be shocked if they used his WCW crow theme, but my guess is they'll create something brand new...or at least a new version of his WCW theme.

In either case, people don't need to know what music means when it first starts playing. They'll react when they see Sting. Remember when John Cena won the WWE title against Rey Mysterio, "Cult Of Personality" played for the first time in WWE and (most) people had no idea what was happening...and then CM Punk walked out and the crowd went insane? The lack of reaction to the music, if anything, only added to the drama.

Crow theme. The Metallica theme never really fit with his darker late 90's gimmick, IMO.

In fact its possible the folks at WWE are working on an updated version of the crow theme.

If they decide to 'update' it, hopefully they just clean it up a little (think Rock's and Bret Hart's themes) versus changing it too much (think Kane's theme). I really hope they choose to just use the original, unaltered Crow theme. It sounds great just the way it is and isn't dated at all. Guess we'll possibly find out in a couple days.

This is a good point. I had no clue who was gonna walk out because I figured it was too early to brinf back Punk (I still feel that way) but I popped when he stepped out

He might as well come out to 'Don't worry be happy' as if I see him on wwe screens I won't be happy. It's about 10 years and a couple hundred matches combined too late for a Taker vs Sting match to be anything but horrible. Taker can hold his own when the person he's in the ring with is good, and can shine when that person is great, but Sting is too old and beat down to be able to put on a good match even with Taker.

It's not about the match, it's about the spectacle. Neither Sting nor Undertaker has really ever been able to put on a 5-star match. They've only ever had memorable matches because of the opponents they've been in there with... Flair, Michaels, etc.

Watch tomorrow night with Lesnar. The fans will be into the match, but the match will not be 'good' by any means. Hell, the build has been horrendous! It'll be a spectacle and that's all anyone can expect with any Undertaker match for the most part.

Also, keep in mind that Undertaker likes to plan out matches months ahead of time so everything is just right. I'm not sure if Lesnar agreed to this or not, but Sting has already said he's more than happy to do it. As long as Sting can get in decent shape (not too hard when you've got a year to prep) and goes over the match a lot with Undertaker, I think this match will really surprise a lot of people. Not only that, but it's easy to steal the show when no one expects anything from you.

Most hardcore fans have all but written this match off as "horrible," "too late," "pointless," "awkward," etc, etc. Any time you put two Legends in the ring, I fully expect them to put on an entertaining match. A couple Stinger Splashes, a Scorpion Deathdrop, Old School, a Tombstone or two, a Scorpion Deathlock and Undertaker sitting up after a nearfall and the crowd will eat it up. This is about entertainment, not an acrobatic agility display.

If we are to believe the hype in this feud, I'd love to hear Sting's crow WCW theme again. Of course Taker could revert back to his original deadman theme for nostalgia's sake. I'm sure if Sting debuts in WWE, he will get that Sting Vs. Taker match he's been waiting for so the music should reflect the time period that both were great in.
