Cesaro's theme is awful, it's annoying, and it makes ears bleed. So far no one on this thread has stepped up to defend it, and that's because I think it may be a piece of a master plan with Cesaro. I'm not 100% on this because I'm not sure WWE creative is that clever.
Often times when a superstar is too over to turn heel, a new theme is required in order to prevent the crowd popping. That superstar often always edits the moves they perform that gained a pop. Austin started coming out to that godawful techno-metal theme in 2001. The Rock toned down the "if you smell" musical cue in his 2003 heel run. Eddie slowed down the music in 2005, Jericho dropped the countdown in his 2008 run.
Cesaro was getting incredibly over in 2014 with his in ring performance and the super over swing, a move he is most likely told not to use while performing as heel. I think the music is a piece of a conscious effort to keep Cesaro from getting a face pop when he hits the ring. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember reports that WWE was attempting to manufacture Daniel Bryan like support for Cesaro by having him spend another year as a heel. Now Cesaro is a tag champ, one year later, as was Byran. Annoying heel theme could be a component of that plan.
Seeing as Cesaro is a bit of a throwback, why not give him a piece of classic music to enter to? It can be electrified like Daniel Bryan's Ride of the Valkyries. Flair entered to Also Sprach Zarathustra, and Macho Man and entered to Pomp and Circumstance. Fanfare by Copland would sound too much like Flair, although I think it would get over. Any suggestions out there?
I don't think actually think WWE is that clever, but you never know. The theme sucks ass, and that may just be a fact that they don't want this guy cheered just yet. Don't look for a new theme until a face turn occurs.
On the subject of themes, I don't mind Ambrose's, reminds me a throw back to the 90s theme. Rollins' theme is ok, I think I'm just used to it by this point. Reminds me too much of CM Punk's old Killswitch Engage theme, which I don't care for. Metal themes remind me of the worst of the late nineties early noughties nu metal scene. I like good metal, not generic or nu.
