Sting reveals he needs neck surgery.

http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/650...emming-from-his-wwe-night-of-champions-injury

This is coming from the main site. Apparently, that match with Seth Rollins really did some serious damage to the Stinger's neck. That's sad. So, if Sting does have that surgery, I guess there goes his Wrestlemania 32 match. A HOF induction could still happen though..

Also, notice how Sting takes all the blame upon himself. What a pro and what a human being.

That completely sucks for a number of reasons. Chief among them is Sting's health. After that, though, it sucks because if Sting can't come back or doesn't come back then WWE has completely ruined Sting's legacy by making him lose all of his matches. I was really hoping that he'd make a come back so that he would actually get a legit win in the WWE. This really sucks ass!

Ah that's too bad for Sting. The guy has a ton of fans and has a big heart for the business. Should've never taken those turnbuckle power bombs at his age. I started out not liking Sting back in his surfer Sting days because I thought his character too -good- . I warmed up to his character when he finally returned as Crow Sting in one of the coolest -returns- in WCW History. The guy always got a tremendous pop from his fans in WCW. ( the biggest aside from his Crow Sting return was his title win over Diamond Dallas Page on Nitro , an excellent match , a humongous pop from the crowd ).

Stings glory days of fighting the Four Horsemen and his feud with Big Van Vader ( a fav of mine ) stand out as Stings best moments in his career. ( he also had a great feud with Ravishing Rick Rude soon after Vader ).

The funniest memory of Sting is when he fought Sid Vicious at Halloween Havoc , he fought the Four Horsemen to the back stage off camera in the closing moments of the match. He then comes back out, Sid powerbombs him in the ring and he wins the title. But then a wobbly Sting comes out and shows everyone that he must've been tied up with the scotch tape around one wrist. The match restarts , Sting wins , J.R says this on commentary about the fake Sting, who was SHORTER than real Sting by the way....

" That wasn't Sting, wasn't Sting it must've been Barry Windham or someone ! ".

Lol, a foot taller than Sting , definitely wasn't Barry Windham.

2 WWE loses does not ruin a man who has been competing for 30 years, that's insane to say. Win or lose he had his WM moment - it's not like we were watching him at his best roughly 15 years ago.

Yes it does suck. It would have been nice to see him go out in his final match on a win. But I have to disagree with something you said. Wrestling is a tough business, and it is probably 100% that the WWE didn't want something like this to happen. So to say they ruined his legacy is bollocks.

He had a couple of matches, yes he lost, but they couldn't have foreseen that he would get injured and quite possibly unable to wrestle again. If that was the case, then every match involving a legend would almost guarantee the legend wins.

Sting legacy is by no means ruined. Since when wins and losses matter when somebody has reached such a legendary status? He lost two matches, yes. But guess that, he's 56 years old. You want wrestling to be a little bit more realistic. Then you can't have 56 year old guys beating top performers in their 30s.

The onlt match Sting should've won, was against Triple H. However, as Sting revealed, he thought that this would have been his final match. And as a true wrestling gentleman, Sting chose to go out with his back on the mat.

If you have to blame someone, then blame both the WWE and Sting. The WWE for not having a plan for Sting, like they did with The Rock and Sting for not caring more about his future with the company.

That aside. Sting will be 100% inducted in the Hall of Fame this year, since he might not be wrestling. I'm pretty sure of that. And in the future, I'm sure that Sting will be back for more. I just think that the guy ain't done yet. He wants to go out in a better way.

Look at the brightside. Rollins can brag about being the man who retired Sting. Also, Sting is too old. I don't want to watch him attempt to wrestle anymore. It is beyond sad. Let him fade away and lets forget about him. Time to move on.

A huge loss to us and WWE but much greater loss to Sting.... It really sucks..... And he will probably not be competing at Wrestlemania 32 and that sucks too..... But thats another thing though... Main thing is he is gonna undergo surgery which is too bad at 56 as he is my favorite pro veteran.... Injuries always suck and this one sucks even more...
And Yes! he should have won against Triple H!

Should've never taken those turnbuckle power bombs at his age.

Or perhaps an even wider implication: the idea of a man in his mid-50's engaging in a wrestling match.

Who's to say? Sting could have worked a 'safe' match as he did with Triple H, one in which both men appear to be roughing up the other while actually performing like two masters of the ring who aren't really exposing themselves to anything that would really hurt them. Instead, we got a war.

As much as I like Seth Rollins, I've always been leery of that turnbuckle thing, even against younger opponents, and while I admire Sting for not wanting to give the fans any less than his best, this particular move could have been left out of the match......again, appreciating that hindsight is always 100%.

Still, the match was months ago. Couldn't his need for surgery have been determined long before this? What have they been waiting for? Has it been that 'hoping it heals on it's own' nonsense?

Didnt Sting wint a match against Rollins & Big Show or something on Raw last year?

A loss to Taker at WM32 and a HOF induction could have been perfect. Maybe a Summerslam win retirement match or something...

Sting's legacy is being ruined just like every other WCW main event guy that came to WWE. Sting came to WWE to wrestle Taker, so how did he end up being ****ed out by jobbing to guys like HHH and Seth Rollins of all people? This is all politics and BS. In the world of WWE, Sting has never won a match in the "big time." Basically WWE is trying to bury both WCW and TNA by saying "as great as Sting was in other places, he wasn't great in the big time because he couldn't even win one match when he came over!"

Nobody counts those garbage matches. Let's be serious. Stop trying to make excuses or find a way out. Sting has lost his two major WWE matches and is now on the injury reserves thanks to a wreckless opponent. If this is his WWE legacy, then he got it the worst out of all the WCW guys that made the jump :banghead:

When has age ever mattered in prowrestling? First of all, in prowrestling, age isn't even acknowledged in the first place. The closest prowrestling refers to age is when they call guys veterans, icons, or legends. With that said, isn't Undertaker over 50 years old going over guys like Bray Wyatt and Brock Lesnar? Yet in the same breathe, you want to come up with an excuse as if Sting shouldn't win a match because of age or vet status. Prowrestling is not about realism, it's about entertainment. If it was about realism, Big Show would probably be champion most of the time and guys like rey mysterio, miz, and y2j would never sneeze at a chance near a world title. Sting should've either won his first ever WWE match or should have at least won the WWE title from Seth Rollins at NOC and then have Sheamus cash in on him. That would have been a good moment in WWE history

Sting's legacy was made in WCW, what he does in WWE has ZERO effect on his WCW legacy. He'll be getting in the WWE HOF based off his WCW accomplishments.

I would have liked to see a programme with the Wyatt family with it resulting in a win against Strowman at Wrestlemania, building up to Bray Vs Sting at Summerslam which Bray would win leaving Sting to retire.

It's a shame he is having to go through surgery at this part of the year, they should've picked up on this a long time ago.

I agree with what your saying with the exception of the "reckless opponent" part.

I'm sure Sting said it was his own fault and Rollins was one of the best guys he's worked with in the ring, which is saying a LOT.

I'm of the belief he should be undefeated and used as a special attraction when WWE is in trouble. Leading up to a match with Taker or Bray for his retirement match in which he loses.
