Pre-Show Stalwart
So i was watchin thursdays IMPACT! last night, yes better late than never, but i noticed during the Kip Vs Kong match it Teney or West sed somthing along the lines of "Spike Tv Doesnt Usually Allow Men On Women violence" or something, which got me wondering 2 things :

1 - Is this actually true ? im asuming its just TNA making it up for there show ?

2 - Is it a good idea to have this ?

Personally i think that TNA should remove this, a man should never hit a women yes, but think how much heat was gained back in the days when Brother Ray was powerbombing divas such as Trish through tables off the top rope.

I think TNA should make it so Spike TV changes there rules, as it would be alot better for heels to gain maximum heat. Im not saying have men attack women every week but do it for a new up and coming heel so they would really make fan livid.

Yes it is true. This is why you didn't see Kip James get any offense in on Kong at all really. As stupid as it is for Spike to have that rule, it's even more stupid for TNA to book a man vs. a woman in a match. In the end the product suffers.

Don't get me wrong, I really like TNA. And while Kip James vs. Kong made sense for the storyline, it just didn't work on TV where James isn't allowed to actually wrestle her.

They should allow men to hit women on TV. People would get behind it. Think I'm wrong? Remeber how people cheered VKM when they were degrading Christy Hemme? B.G. James punching her in the face would have been the next logical step. The crowd would have gone nuts for it.

its true you know. They could really tap into the feminist fan demographic, something wrestling probably never has done. You see, in TNA women are treated no differently than men. they can get punched RIGHT in the fucking face.

TNA. leaders in gender equality, and proud of it.

Well Norcal, men and women are equal. This is what feminists would have you believe. Nobody bats an eyelid if a female slaps a male, but they do if a male hits a woman. Hell, this is a thread about a man not hitting a woman.

If men had matches with women this would legitimise the Knockouts division no end.

If anything, if they are gonna do this (and they should) the men should not only punch them, but kick the shit out of them really. should be all high impact squashes, like Kozlov does. I mean, lets be logical here. Dont wanna ruin kayfabe, suspension of beleif and such.

I can't believe I just read that.... When I see a man hitting a woman Ifeel sick to the stomach.... It makes me very uncomfortable to see that....

First of all Men are naturally stronger and faster and tougher.... its like a little kid vs a grown man.... Why have that match..... it should end in no contest!

But there are exceptions to the rule....
If the woman is equal in strength size and fight ability.... Then its ok...
I woman that starves herself to look fit shouldn't wrestle a man the works out almost every day!

Obviously that applies to kong.... But in wrestling a punch is not a legal move..... after 5 on a man you get dq'ed..... so after one on a woman you get dq'ed...I was raised not to hit women..... so I beat the fuck out of my step father insted..... its still wrong..... but its the lesser evil!

So in short I think its a good idea.... woman vs woman, man vs man.....
also I was always told that a woman beater is a goof!
So thanks Spike tv for making my wrestling experience a feel good moment! :D

Your political correctness is not welcome in this thread.

Go at it, beat a bitch.

It is entertainment after all, its not like it is actually a man hitting a woman, or vice versa. Its not like its actually women hitting a woman or men hitting a man. It is just entertainment.

Obviously a woman getting hit by a man would draw a lot of heat. Last few times WWE has done it, there was a lot of heat. Jericho punched Rebecca Michaels (Is that her screen name?) and Stephanie McMahon getting decimated by Randy Orton worked well.

So go for it TNA, it is justified. If Spike TV allows it, use it. Don't use it ever week or something, that would kill the moment and start having you to up the carnage, maybe blading women, or something like that. Keep it light, and you can used it ever so often to draw heat.

Jericho hitting Shawn's slag was the best thing I've seen on TV in ages. TNA should definately do this. Not that I watch it, it'd just be fun. I see no reason for them not to, really. If they both agree to it, she can hardly complain if he beats the shit out of her. It'd be funny if it happened the other way around too. I'd laugh.

Kong wrestling men is a terrible idea. The only good thing about Awesome Kong is watching her destroy the knockouts. Put her with a guy and she's a flat slow wrestler who doesn't really have great offence to use on most of the male roster. If Kong wrestles men, which is dumb enough that TNA might actually try it, here is what should happen. Some man should dominate her in a feud only for TNA to realize that his contract is up the day before their big match and JJ have to pay a ridiculous sum of money in order to get him to job.

Hmmm...so men are naturally stronger and faster and tougher...except for those occasions when they're not. O...k....I think I see where you're going with this...
Obviously that applies to kong.... But in wrestling a punch is not a legal move..... after 5 on a man you get dq'ed..... so after one on a woman you get dq'ed...
Ok, I guess I didn't see where you were going after all. You were trying to make a point...and then suddenly...I don't know, I guess you came down with a sudden case of stupid? First of all, a punch hasn't been illegal in wrestling in at least a year. Even when it was, people seldom got dq'd because of the 5 punch rule (ever see a 10 punch in the corner?)
I was raised not to hit women..... so I beat the fuck out of my step father insted..... its still wrong..... but its the lesser evil!

Hmmm...ok...I guess what I really want to say here is, um, who cares. I'm glad you were raised not to hit women. I could care less if you beat up your stepdad. Unless it happened in a wrestling ring in front of an audience, I really don't see the relevance.
So in short I think its a good idea.... woman vs woman, man vs man.....
also I was always told that a woman beater is a goof!

And thank you, chrisjeffers, for making my WZ Forums experience a WTF moment. First off, ignoring the fact that this thread was started in (I believe) a tongue in cheek manner, you do realize that what happens on the magic box in the living room isn't real, right? Abyss isn't really a psychotic monster, Sting doesn't really live in the rafters, Cute Kip isn't really gay...damn, almost made it. But the point is, when a man hits a woman on a tv show, he isn't abusing her, he's following the script, as is she when she acts like it hurts. It's not like when a man hits a woman in the privacy of their own home. That's just teaching her how to listen.

Disclaimer: That last line was a joke. I have never and would never hit a woman. They carry guns now...

W...T...F. This made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

While I agree that Kong wrestling someone like Kurt Angle or Sting would be ridiculous, putting her in a match with Cute Kip made perfect sense in the storyline we currently have going.

I'm going to assume that by
and she's a flat slow wrestler
you actually meant a fat slow wrestler. Ok. So then you mean she's Samoa Joe without the makeup.

Some man should dominate her in a feud only for TNA to realize that his contract is up the day before their big match and JJ have to pay a ridiculous sum of money in order to get him to job.

All I can say is...huh? Do you mean as far as storyline-wise, or behind the scenes? Wait, nevermind, it's just as stupid either way.

AK is a beast of a woman. I sure as hell wouldn't want to fight her. I'm sure she would dominate you, as well. Sure, she might not be AJ Styles or Kurt Angle in the ring, but I bet that if it was booked right, she could make a better showing fighting the men than any diva or knockout since Chyna.

Let me explain. Awesome Kong's wrestling seems largely based upon her ability to overpower the other knockouts. Her matches tend to be squash matches or matches where she loses by a fluke. However with a guy she won't be able to squash him as credibly making her size and power not nearly as impressive. She would essentially be a slow big wrestler at a time where most of the big wrestlers are rather agile. That would make her generally useless.

As for;

I meant backstage as most people believe that is what happened during double J's feud with Chyna.

Ok, I can dig that explanation. Wow, you are quite possibly the first person I've called out on here that came back with an intelligent sounding response. Course, I haven't tested the waters with any of the mega-posters yet.

I actually see the irony in your suggestion as a sort of comeuppance for JJ, I wasn't aware of this particular rumor as I almost exclusively watched WCW during this specific period of wrestling history. That's why I very rarely debate the attitude era: I missed most of it.

I withdraw my remarks about your idea/opinion being stupid. This explanation satisfies me ;)

Ok this irritates me! How is it that none of you see that there is a major strength mismatch! A woman can wrestle as well as a man (Lita) But thats kinda were it ends! Chyna wasn't as strong as the men she faced.... People just didn't want to hit her..... cause its a her! All the power to woman! Cruiserweights would work well with women! seeing how there is minimal weight differance! But if I started smacking around my gf would you find that entertaining?

Call me sexist all you want..... I think your fathers should have taken you out to the wood shed!

It really annoys me that we have the same first name for some reason.

First off, if we were discussing Lita, then yes, you would be correct in saying that this would be a total mismatch. We're not discussing Lita, we're discussing Awesome Kong. AK could use Lita as a toothpick.

IMHO, I believe Chyna was probably quite a bit stronger than both JJ and Eddie Guerrero.

I would not find it amusing if you were to start smacking around your girlfriend. You might cause her to spring a leak. I would, however, find it extremely amusing to watch your girlfriend smacking you around.

And finally, no one is calling you a sexist. I'm calling you an idiot. Big difference. :smashfreakB:

Ok read the threads name.... It says Spike Tv: Men On Women Violence ?
Just because you all want to talk about a fat slow boring chick doesn't mean that its limited to it! Spike say no to man on woman violance!

Chyna fought against more then just Eddie and JJ....

And I wasn't talking about you calling me sexist.... I got red rep'd for thinking that a woman should be loved by a man and not beaten! Obviously I must be a more sensible generation..... Good old day where we had morals! Yep they are long gone....

I doubt Spike would allow it, that was one of the conditions in order for TNA to actually get the spot on Spike TV was that they would not portray man on Woman Violence, but the fact is I think they should allow it in most cases, think of how awesome the Kong VS kIP match would have been if they had allowed him to overpower her and slap on a few holds, the match could of went hardcore instead of having Kong use him as a chew toy.

It would of made her look legit if she went toe to toe with a guy instead of having her squash him the way she did, It made him look like a douche and ultimately will spell his demise (careerwise) because being beat by a women is fine, but being squashed by one sucks ass, ask santino!

I don't understand the whole idea of Spike not allowing this, to be honest. Spike shows reruns of The Shield (Awesome show) which contains plenty of violence towards women, and much more graphic than would be found in a wrestling match.

Look, let me be clear. I am not advocating men beating up women. That's just ridiculous. If any man ever laid a hand on my mom, or my sister, or my female friends, I would probably catch a murder charge. (Although my sister, being ex-army, could probably kick my ass, to be honest).

I give up.... fine! let little children grow up watching this..... Tv Evolves every now and then! Back then Elvis couldn't be shown waist down cause he shock his hips in a sexual manner! Now look at were TV has gone..... The next evolution of TV will be the beat your wife hour... I am well aware that wrestling is an act and not a fight... But its a pretend fight where sometime we like to let ourselves go and pretend that the other guy did get hurt......

I don't want to pretend that the woman is getting beaten in front of me! If I seen that on the street I wouldn't boo I'd jump in.... yes there is a differance.... but is the differances enough to justify "kicking the shit" out of a woman.... Fake or not this is what I'm seeing!

A little off topic but I'm going somewhere with this!
Will Smith doesn't swear in his music.... His grand mother told him to find something better to say or don't say it....
I am offended by seeing orton beat up steph.... accually I stopped watch orton! I don't want to feel the way he made me feel when her "pretended" to hurt Steph...

Does no one on this entire Forum Agree? Are you all into watch a woman get beat?

It really relates to all forms of entertainment. If Sarah Connor gets shot in the chest isn't too extreme, because it portrays women getting abused, then
why would Awesome Kong getting hit in the face with a chair be? We live in a society where violence against women is not a social taboo, so for professional wrestling to show these images is not out of the question.

There is a show on television right now, quite popular I understand, called Law & Order:Special Victims Unit. Every single episode is about a sex crime, quite often committed against women. The focus of the show is the NYC detectives who go after the people that did this. The number one demographic that views this show is women. As a matter of fact, in it's second season, the series was #1 among all off-net weekend dramas in Women 18-49.

Do you think those women watch SVU because they like to see other women get assaulted and raped? No, they watch it to see the bad guys get caught. Without the violent element, however, the show would just be a bunch of cops sitting around drinking coffee all day.

You were sickened by Orton attacking Stephanie, and can't watch Orton anymore because of it. Ok, fine. For people that did like the segment, the majority of them liked it because it created interest in what Triple H would do to get his revenge. It's called drama. Does wrestling take it too far sometimes? Of course they do. I offer for your consideration the Katie Vick segment. That was bad taste, bad humor, and bad television.

I give up.... fine! let little children grow up watching this.....

Ah, there we go. Now I really have something to sink my teeth into. Are you seriously about to suggest that violence on TV leads to violence in real life? Because I have heard this argument before, and it pisses me off. If your children are raised and taught how to act by what they see on television, then you suck as a parent and don't deserve to have children. WWE currently has a PG rating. Do you know what PG stands for? Parental Guidance. That means if you want your children to get the right message out of a show you should watch it with your child, and discuss it with them afterward. Yes, Little Junior might watch Randy Orton attack Steph and say "Cool, I can beat up chicks too!" It is the parent's responsibility to sit down with Little Junior and say, "See what that guy just did to that girl? That is not acceptable behavior. You should never do something like that to anyone." If we as parents are too lazy or too stupid to take responsibility for raising our own children, then who is really to blame when they go out into the world and do stupid things?

I'm not sure what your issue is, chrisjeffers. To a small extent I can almost understand your point-of-view. In a broad sense, yes, violence against women is wrong. For that matter, so is violence against men. But to suggest that an intergender wrestling match, or for that matter anything that happens on a wrestling show, is going to lead to
The next evolution of TV will be the beat your wife hour...
is just simple-minded at best, and to be quite frank, it's getting a little bit boring now as well.

try raising a child!
I'm saying find something better! back in the day a man would kiss a woman and get heat.... Does he now have to kick the shit out of her before he gets heat?

I am sure there are millions of parental groups that would agree!
There has to be a less damaging way....
And yes your right a parent should be around their child 24/7! That way the parent would make sure nothing harmful enters the childs mind.... But 24/7 Is not possible... Some people might see this as not a big issue.... and your child goes over to their place to socialize with their child. well now your child.....

Screw it....Its not like I'm voicing my opinion in the right place anyway! The FCC is probably the people I should present my Arguement to.....
