Special Live Tuesday Night Smackdown

If you watched the USA network and RAW you know that next week SD will be live on tuesday on USA Network. First ever live SD show and its about time. SD has been on for 11 yrs now and it should be live on a daily basis and on USA instead of Sci-Fi. It will be a true test if SD can bed live and on a major network as USA. And if its better then RAW or just as good as RAW.

Its not the first live SD for one. Smackdown was just live for the October 1st premiere of Smackdown on SyFy. So technically, this will be the second live Smackdown. I agree that this should be something that should happen more often, but there's a catch as to why this one is happening live on Tuesday.

Friday night, is December 24th, or Christmas Eve. Ratings haven't tended to smile favorably on shows when they've been held on the holidays, as evidenced by the terrible rating Impact received this past Thanksgiving. Thanks to their deal with USA, they have a "moevability" clause, or the ability to run certain "specials" throughout the year, like they do with their overrun. So the reason for the live Tuesday special is quite simple in that it will likely do a much better job with the ratings then it would on Christmas Eve.

@ LSN80, ur ryt its nt the first, but this won't be the second either!!! there have been many before.. last year in October Decade of Smackdown special was Live..

But similar threads have been made.. yes we know Smackdown is a good show and provides a lot more wrestling than Raw.. but Raw is number 1 and always will be.. It doesn't really change what we think about Smackdown does it?? well it shouldn't and there is a reason why Smackdown is going like next week and its because they don't want to put it on Xmas eve..
