No joke... I was about to ask this girl... and then, all of a sudden, I find she's been asked by some senior. How dumb is that? A senior asking a junior to the JUNIOR... lemme say that again... the JUNIOR Prom. So dumb.
Now I'm dateless, and probably will not go, which sucks cuz I was planning on going to a really sweet afterparty... and I'm def not going dateless, so, looks like next Friday night I'll just be home along posting on WZ...

Its not that big of a deal at all. I didn't go to either prom, not because I couldn't find a date (at least that what I tell myself ), but because it was expensive as hell, plus a tux. Not worth it at all. I actually went to a concert about 3 hours from where I live instead of prom, and still got to chill with my friends afterward. Prom isn't as big a deal as people make it out to be.

It's not really tha big of a deal its a junior prom,there will be another prom next year for seniors.If she is still in the school just ask her out then,and make sure to actually ask her a month in advance so what happened this year doesnt happen again.

Prom is a time-honored tradition of spending exorbitant amounts of money on a 15 minute car ride and a meal that isn't even that great that could be made at home for 70 dollars less. Also, you get the privilege of renting a tux for the amount of money that it would cost to buy a really nice suit that you could just keep.
You HAVE to go to prom.

Proms get alot of "heat" on here. There fun, and meaningless. You get to dress up and be important 
I say just ask one of your friends(that is if you have female friends). I went with my friend and it was awesome. I don't like pictures, but the attention you get is awesome.

I haven't read through this thread, but I got the jist of someone taking someone else's attempted Prom Date. Sorry.
On the flip side.. Prom's are a funny subject. Especially the whole "Prom Date" situation. I mean, it's truthfully like the lottery. You have numerous tickets (females/males, depending on what you like) and only a select few will give you a jack-pot. (ie. great night)
Sure, you could take the easy route and play a "ticket" that you truth and know won't cause you to lose. But at the same time, you won't likely win anything worth remembering, either. (these would be "friend prom dates")
I think a giant poster board needs to be set-up in a School's main gathering area.. with all the female and male names on it. Just cross out the one's already taken/going with others.. that way you don't get confused.
