Mustang Sally
Sells seashells by the seashore
Can anyone figure why the company brought this guy in to be a Godzilla-type monster......but hasn't yet set him loose on Tokyo?
When a seemingly overpowering figure enters a wrestling organization, he's going to be an indestructible force, at least until the forces of good can break him down. For some, it's as short as one night.....think of Tiny ('Zeus') Lister against Hulk Hogan. You can even think of The Great Khali in his earliest days. He'd take an open-handed swipe at an opponent and the guy would collapse in a heap. It was a while before he started jobbing, remember.
Wouldn't you reason the same thing was going to happen with Braun? When we saw a helpless Roman Reigns held aloft by the big guy, didn't it seem we were in for something really special? Sure, we knew people would get to him eventually, but why so soon?
As I see it, the early dismantling of the immovable object came because of the mini-program with the Undertaker. Yeah, they had to give 'Taker his brother to put Braun over the announcer's table, but there's no way a legend like Undertaker was going to be outright bested by a newcomer; at least not in such a short program, which is the only kind 'Taker works today.
So, now what? Undertaker is gone and WWE Creative has to decide whether Braun Strowman goes back to being an invulnerable monster......or whether his cover is blown and he's about to start losing one-on-one to midcard performers.
What do you think? Has opportunity passed Braun by?
