Smackdown Commentary

Everyone wants to rip Cole and say how he sucks. I notice he is a lot different on Smackdown than on Raw. One he always puts over Sheamus, which is odd since he is supposed to be the Heel announcer. and he also hates D-Bryan and he is becoming a heel. and I also am a huge fan of Booker, and sometimes Booker and Cole agree which king never does. Do you think there is a reason for this? and i dont think it is Cole cutting back on his comments like people think he was told to do. He always has liked Sheamus and always hated Bryan. and what about Booker, he had a huge feud with Cody yet he still puts him over as a huge talent. why cant they do that on Raw too? And one final comment Booker is awesome, I like having former wrestlers do commentary so they can bring a little insight to the business something King should do more of and not forget he used to be a competitor and he also use to cheat a lot at least Booker admits it.

I enjoy the team. I think cole is one of the best announcers, especially with how he is begining to turn down the heel persona without turning face. Booker is great in the fact that he seams to be balanced, doesnt alway hate on heels, gives them little congrats and stuff. I think josh matthews should be on raw, and have matt stricker a spot on smackdown

I think the one thing viewers and commenters online are missing about Cole is that some significant amount of what he spews is fed to him. These are not his real opinions, they are what Vince thinks will draw viewers into the show. Just as long as everyone remembers that (maybe everyone is already making that distinction when they say "COLE SUCKS" actually is shorthand for "KAYFABE COLE SUCKS". From what I can see, Cole is versatile enough to play a detestable heel from week to week, an easier (way to get a reaction from the crowd), but less avoidable job.

Cole Does not suck!!! In fact hes the best announcer there is right now hes unbiased and if he doesnt like you he doesnt like you!! He gives credit to sheamus whos a face and constantly rips on bryan whos a heel! For a heel announcer hes pretty straight down the middle!! Booker T is funny! I like Booka T alot and sometimes he mumbles but he gives credit where its due. Josh Matthews is a diamond in the rough i say put him on Raw and trade lawler to smackdown. Let Josh learn from Michael on the live show. One day Josh could eventually take over coles spot when he retires IMO!! With King on smackdown he could just kinda lay back and let cole and booka call the action while he chimes in every now and again. I think that be the perfect scenario and smackdown does have the better announcing team

I think cole the character and the others ripping him apart make some sense but too much of it is not so entertaining but despite all of it i think smackdown commentary is very entertaining on par with Raw commentary, And i am very happy with the way wwe is using cole

I think there are two Coles for both shows. For RAW, you have a pure heel announcer and for Smackdown you have a little bit of the heel, but he is more straight down the middle with both faces and heels. Sometimes praising heels, sometimes faces ALA Sheamus.

I think Vince wants him this way so his character doesn't get totally stale. I watched Smackdown last night for the first time in months and I liked him. He wasn't like his RAW character at all. You need that, especially since he is announcing fully for both shows.

I also liked the way he started changing his views towards DB. I thought too "How the hell are they going to have a heel announcer hate a heel wrestler?" They showed that last night.

Yes they have good chemistry together. I wish Matthews was a little better at calling the action. But for the most part I find them entertaining.
Cole can sometimes get annoying when he starts shouting and goes on a long rant, but if he stops doing that I have no issues with him.

I find Smackdown's commentary to be far more interesting Raw's and that is solely due to Micheal Cole.

On Raw he comes across as an absolute heel which has done for quite some time now. He's heel run has thrived on Raw ever since he became one, so naturally he is far more aggressive on Raw. It kind of gives the feeling that you know what to expect from the commentary all the time: Cole rants, king tells him to shut up, rinse, wash, repeat. Of course since Raw is the flagship show he has firmly established his heel character much more there than on Smackdown (just look at his feud with Jerry).

On Smackdown it's mixed up much more. When a face turns heel most of the time the heel commentator "agrees" with them and supports them. That is almost always the case on Raw and vica versa of a heel turns face (ex: R-truth). However that hasn't been the case for Daniel Bryan and Cole's status on him. Whenever Bryan is on TV I am genuinely interested in what the commentary has to say specifically Cole and Booker T. 90% of the things Cole says referring to Daniel Bryan are neutral as well as Booker T. Fortunately it is apparent that Cole still dislikes Bryan which is interesting to see in a heel commentator. Along with Booker T and Josh Matthews it makes for quite a commentary team. Not to mention that none of the commentators are absolute face or heel in contrast to Raw.

Smackdown's commentary team is straight down the middle, the biased feel of the commentators in regards to face of heel is still present but very much toned down.
