The only thing that has ever been said is a total of 800 pixels, with a max of 500 wide. I added the 500 in height, even though it's not in the rules.

You've been here, and a mod longer than I have, but I have NEVER seen any limits on the height, and since we allow 500 wide, I figured we'd allow 500 tall.

I always interpreted it as 400x400 or 500x300, I figured it didn't mention height because the limit was already set as 400.
