Since people want him in this position, let's start the campaign!

First of all, it was Uncle Ben that said that.

You are wise beyond your join date. That last part is the key to everything. Far too many people see being a mod as the be all and end all of this place. Trust me, it is far from the glamour job that it's made out to be. We deal with more idiots than you can possibly fathom and have to take the criticism that everyone has for us. It's a thankless job for the most part and it's not as easy and far from as fun as it is made up to be.
I know what it means to be mod, I've been one before. Nothing on the scale of WZ but I still got the hate PMs and I've banned a few people in my day.

im not sure if it says it in the rules anymore, but it used to state the fastest way to not be considered for a spot is to ask about it....

Are you referring to this:

How do you become a mod or admin?

There's no application process. Just post regularly and well, and you'll possibly be noticed when the need is there. Being a mod is a big responsibility, and we need to have someone who can handle it. Just saying you can do it isn't enough. Just keep posting and you may just get the nod. But remember, patience is a virtue. Requesting a mod spot is an easy way to lose nomination for the spot.

Damn. You know sometimes I wish i was a bigger nerd :lmao:

I probably wont ever be a mod here mainly because there is plenty of people who would do a better job than me all over these forums. However, it would not be the first time I have been modded on an internet forum. I am a mod on a few blogspots and was a mod on other things and believe me it is hard work. That's why I can understand that you can get frustrated with people saying you are doing a bad job.

yeup, that be it

The guys who put forward campaigns are normally not the ones who the campaign is for, if that makes any sense at all. I think the bottom line is that people will always try this on and it's not really fair to people like Latriat and jmt who were probably just going about thier business until it happened. Just as long as there chances are not hurt because of it then it's OK.

I wanted to make it clear that I didn't do this campaign thing because I was trying to hurt Lariat's chances to become mod, because I would never do that to someone. I did because I was asked since the person that asked me to do it thought that if they did it the thread would get locked.

No offense to Lariat, but there's a couple of people who I think should be promoted first.

I was not assuming that you did. You are a good guy. What I am saying is that it would be unfair to punish people like the Latriat because of a thread that was made for him. It was probably just to give Latriat the credit he deserves but ended up being a campaign basically.

I made mine because it doesn't really bother me if I become mod or not

If i do awesome. if I don't meh, I'll still be here

You probably will be at some point if you stick around long enough. I dunno what the criteria is but you prolly tick most of the boxes.

A) Wrong

B) I only read the first post so I thought this was for Lariat.

C) I was refuting the existence of this thread.

I completely agree with you. Especially if the guy you have picked to fill the role is not one of the guys that have been linked ot the role in campaign threads. This could be Latriat or jmt. The thing is, now that people have voiced thier opinion on who should fill the role, when it is actually announced, people might see it as a lapse of judgement on the part of the admins. Perhaps there should be some rule against or something I dunno.

That 'Latriat' guy is scrap.

Lariat's where it's at. But the thing is, this has gotten way out of hand. First of all, I NEVER once requested to be considered for a mob spot. I just said if I was considered, I'd do a great job. Like I do at anything else. As far as I'm concerned. I've never cared about what anybody thinks about me. I post in here because I like wrestling and like the people in here. I know I've not been here long enough to be considered. I'll post and rant the same as I ever would. It sucks that things were taken the wrong way. No one thinks anyone's incompetent. It was just a few people having fun and seeing where it would go. I like how everyone can get touchy over things that don't matter. I didn't start anything, so as far as I'm concerned, I'm exonerated from any wrong doing. And if I'm not. I don't care. I'll be in the wrestling section and Bar Room..keeping on...keepin' on.

There's a common misconception around here that all that it takes to be a mod is being a good poster. While that's a big part of it, it's nowhere near all it takes. Yes, Lariat and JMT are good posters. Would they make good mods? Likely so and they'll likely be up for debate, but I could probably give you a list of 15 names that would also be in contention for the next spot. There's a few big names taht would be given the spot first and it's nothing at all against Lariat, jmt or anyoen else.

Thank God there's someone who is completely unbiased. KB. You were the reason I joined the forum in the first place.

Which is why I like the mods and admins here. From what I have seen since I joined these forums they have been as fair as fair can possibly be.
