Sin Cara's Lighting

ECW Sandman

Getting Noticed By Management
Okay is it just me or is any one else getting sick of watching a Sin Cara match and they keep his blue and gold lighting on when he is wrestling, it is so hard to watch his matches with it on the first time it happen I thought maybe they for got to switch it back but the second time it happen it was so annoying trying to watch it with the blue and gold light in and around the ring I bet the fans in the arena feel the same way but I know this is not a big deal to some but it's just so damn hard to follow his matches with it.

Your Thoughts .

the lighting doesn't affect the match at all. i can clearly see everything that is happening inside and out of the ring.

I can see the match fine, but I think it's annoying as hell. I don't think in ring action should ever be altered for a performer. That is what having an entrance is for. I think it was done to help cover his frequent botches and make him feel special, but I think it's more than run it's course at this point, and they need to do away with it.

I find it different as I also find it to make the match a little more exciting. I think it is a very cool idea as I also have no problems watching the match. I see every move although at times if they do a far camera view it does seem to be a little harder to watch the match. I can say I noticed that before. As for the fans in the arena, I'm sure if they were not to like the lighting the WWE would have ditched it a while ago. Overall I like the lighting effects as it adds flavor to the match.

I like it ok except for the fact that there is no explanation as to why. It was better when Glacier did it in WCW back in the late 90s. The house lights were completely dark. Ring glowed deep blue color and the snow machine stayed on so little snow flakes drifted down for the whole match. Kane got the same deal but for extremely rare instances (red glow).

Eventually they take it away and everyone gets the same lighting.

I will tell you what I miss is the lighting that everyone got from late 80s to early 90s when they would keep the house pitch dark and just illuminate the ring and the crowd was just a black mass with random camera flashes. Made the crowd seem much larger, like it stretched out forever.

If theyre using the lighting to cover his botches, they're idiots. And its not really Sin Cara thats botching all those moves. Its all the other wrestlers he faces because they either never learned real wrestling or were forced to forget in favor of adopting WWE's "style". Watch Sin Cara's pre-WWE matches when he was wrestling against guys who havent been tainted by the WWE. Sin Cara/Mistico is one of the greatest high flyers of all time.

Back on topic, the lighting needs to go. Special lighting isnt going to get his character over. Thats what meaningful feuds are for.

I don't have a problem with the lighting. It makes his matches stand out and gives his character a little more mystique.

They don't use the lighting to cover his botches. It isn't pitch dark in the arena, you can still see everything that's happening. How would the lighting cover his botches?

By WWE style I hope you mean American style. It's obvious the two styles are completely different and being completely different will cause problems. The WWE style is no different from every other style in America.

Tainted? Sin Cara needs to be sent down to developemental so he can learn the style. Most of the guys he faces are great wrestlers: Chavo, Daniel Bryan, Tyson Kidd - explain to me why Sin Cara can't have a match with these guys without bitching?

Maybe he needs to learn some english so a feud can be started.

I really enjoy the lighting in Sin Cara's matches because it is very unique, no one else gets anything like that. It helps him stand out more. I don't see how anyone could really dislike it, it has a cool feel to it. His matches feel more special due to the lighting. They should do more stuff like this, but obviously within reason. Giving EVERYONE lighting would get complicated fast, but guys like Sin Cara need it because it helps them to stand out and even their matches themselves stand out when they get special lighting.

The lighting in Sin Cara matches pisses me off.
It doesnt effect the match at all but it just makes me think....well...WHY ?
Its pointless and if anything makes it look like Sin Cara's match and takes alot of the focus away from the other wrestler.

I love the Sin Cara lighting. He's the only wrestler that gets his own unique lighting effect for the match, and that separates him a little bit. He is different than everyone else on the roster, and they're playing on that fact. It's like saying "you're going to witness something different than we usually offer" whenever he is in the ring. Personally, I like it. I think it should stay. I don't believe it effects the way the perform or the way we see the match at all. It's not that dark, and considering how the crowd is lit red and blue most of the time (see now you're going to look, because you probably never noticed that before) I think people are used to it.
