Should TV Shows Have Gimmicks?

WWEvsJosh

Pre-Show Stalwart
What if tthe tv shows had gimmck matches? It would be a new type of match that would only take place on raw and a match that only took place on smackdown. The match would not take place every week but it would happen once a month and it will be advertised a week before. The would be something like the King of the mountain match that takes place in TNA. What do you think of the idea and what kind of match would you think would be best for each show?

Yeah, no. That idea just sounds awful. Gimmick matches are treats for the viewer and should be treated as such. Pay-per-views nowadays a centered on a certain gimmick match, why throw in a free one every month as well? There's no need. Pay-per-view matches should always end a feud. Live broadcasts of Raw and Smackdown (with occasional exceptions) should not.

I understand what you are saying but they would not end any fueds. They would really be for mid carders so they can get noticed but I understand what you are saying.

Gimmick matches are always a treat for the viewers but what you suggest is totally impractiable. What attracts the viewers in a gimmick match is the freshness value atached with it, you start throwing random gimmick matches every month, it will lead to over exposure and thus will kill the freshness and uniqueness.
Keep the gimmick matches for ppv, and start brainstorming to find new ideas.
You know the saddest part, WWE hired a guy with so many great ideas for wwe, someone who actually loves this business a lot, I am talking about kevin eck, he was supposed to join the creative team in wwe but instead he was made to write a blog for wwe.com- eck's factor. I really think if VKM gives him the chance he might actually bring some good changes in wwe.
For those who might doubt my words regarding KEVIN ECK can go check out the online blog he used to do for the baltimore sun prior to joining the wwe.You will understand why I speak so highly of this guy.
WAKE UP VINCE.Give kev Eck the chance he deserves.

hmm Raw Mystery General Manager, theres a ongoing Raw gimmick that didnt even give us a result. No, television should be used to sell the in ring wrestling product and further storyolines so people bother to pay for the ppvs. Weak tv equals shitty ppv buy rates. Excellent compelling tv with bold storylines and interesting characters fans can get behind equals excelletn ppv buy rates
