Should I Watch Orange Is the New Black?

Blue Chipper

Shapeshifting Humanoid
I'm not the biggest fan of television shows. I've followed a handful, but not many.

I've heard a lot about this show in particular, and the new season is coming up. We've a strong TV community here and I'd like to get your opinions. If I recall correctly, JGlass had it featured in his signature for a while. If it's truly good, I'd be willing to watch all of the episodes.

What do you guys think? Good show or not?

I enjoyed watching it. I didn't think it was "blow you away" great, but I didn't regret the time I spent watching it.

Its on my list. But everything's on my list.

Netflix haven't really done much else not worth watching though. What's the worst that could happen!

I enjoyed it a lot and personally can't wait to binge watch when the second season comes onto Netflix.

Not the greatest television series in the world but it is definitely something to invest some time into and it isn't particularly long with 13 episodes. Season 2 is coming up soon so by the time you've got through the first season, you won't have to wait too long for the story to continue.

I tried watching it, & couldn't get through the first season, that's not to say it's a bad show, just not my cup of tea.

Reporting back. I decided to watch it and just finished the last episode.

I agree with the comments here; for the most part, it was an enjoyable, entertaining, and funny show.

One complaint (or maybe observation) I have is that the tone of the show fluctuated between real emotional intensity and seriousness to lighthearted humor on a moment's notice. I didn't really mind this too much but at some points I didn't know what the intended purpose was and didn't know how to react. I felt it could have played up more on the drama at times.

But, yeah, like you guys have said, not the best show in the world but a pretty good one. Characters were solid and developed, story was fine, whatever. I was immersed at times and not as excited at other times. (The chicken episode comes to mind - didn't care for that one.)

A lot of people are talking about the ending. What did you guys think of it? Anyway, season 2 should be fun.

It makes for a great Plan B show. As in, it fills the void while you're waiting for your favourite show to come back.
