Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Brock Lesnar

Uncle Sam

Rear Naked Bloke
After developing a rare neurological disorder that doesn't allow me to discuss anything not related to Brock Lesnar, I must ask: this is where we're going with this, right? This is the endgame? After Shane McMahon, there are very few people left in the world who can feasibly pose a threat to Brock.

I know we all want Sami Zayn, but God died on January 10th 2016 and so we can't feel empathy anymore - such a match is pointless.

It should be. I mean, McMahon shouldnt even be allowed in the ring with Brock.

Any encounter with Shane should be brief but enough to be realised that he needs something more. Shane cannot be allowed the upper hand at any point. If it builds right then the explosion in reaction to Nak's music could be truly special.

I love me some Nakamura, but in kayfabe what threat does he pose to Brock? Is it because he can throw some stiff strikes? Would his in ring seizure like movements confuse The Beast?

I'd rather see Joe be the one to face Brock. I know the pop likely wouldn't be as big, but I feel like Joe's character is more built to suit wanting to fight Brock than what Nakamura's is.

I'd enjoy Brock vs either Joe or Nakamura.

Both matches would be hard hitting and they are the only 2 I can think of that would stand a believable chance against Brock.

I don't know. I'm hoping Lesnar cuts a promo about there being no competition left and the Glorious Domination starts playing.

Roode has the gimmick down but work wise, he's nowhere near the level of Joe or Nak, or if he is, he hasn't shown it in NXT yet.

Nakamura beat Brock for an IWGP heavyweight Championship. He beat him before he can beat him again

I still think Roman Reigns remains Vince's main choice to slay the Beast Incarnate, but I'd love to see Shinsuke Nakamura's music hit after Brock Lesnar issues an Open Challenge and Nak actually is the one to slay him. Would establish him perfectly as a force to be reckoned with on the Main Roster and save him from unnecessary midcard hell.

I would still take Samoa Jor or Aj Styles over Nakamura but you can't go wrong with any of them. I'd still back Reigns to take down the best as well though.

Reigns' match with Lesnar was so good that it was almost worth Daniel Bryan repeatedly being called a turd and winning a middling ladder match. It almost doesn't keep me up at night, wailing and pounding at the walls.

I wouldn't mind it. But first, Nakamura needs to make his main roster debut, get the fans behind him, get a solid one-year hunt for the title, before beating Big Brock at WM 34.

I strongly believe that the man that beats Brock must be the next big face of the WWE. In today's era, just charisma is not enough to get you there. You also need wrestling ability. At least that's what I understood when Bryan and Punk became so popular.

The only two guys with charisma and great in ring abilities right now are Nakamura and Owens.

Actually Brock essentially squashed Nakamura in their one title match during Brock's reign*. It was Angle who defeated Brock for the version of the IWGP title that was being recognized by Inoki Genome after New Japan had stripped the title but not managed to retrieve the physical belt from him. Nakamura in the meantime had taken New Japan's revived version of the belt from Tanahashi and then Shinsuke defeated Angle to unify the title back to a single lineage.

*To be fair though this was the early version- Not Nakamura's final form.

That's funny because you knocked the shit outta that idea when I posted Nak vs Brock at Mania on my fantasy card. You legit laughed at it.

Man, what a crazy rub that would be for someone who has done most of his wrestling outside if the WWE. Hell, if it hadn't been for AJ Styles and what he's accomplished over the last 9 months, I'd say it was totally unthinkable. But here we are in 2016 and AJ Styles is the best thing going in the WWE right now. It truly is a bold new world, with regards to the WWE and the sky is the limit for most of the guys on the roster. And that definitely includes Shinsuke Nakamura.

For me, Naka has proved himself to be a worthwhile commodity throughout his entire run in WWE. He has beaten some great talents and looks to be on the right path to becoming a mainstay on the WWE roster when he makes his proper debut. But I come back to the opinion that beating Lesnar would probably be the biggest accomplishment of his wrestling career, such has become the streak of Lesnar and the school of thought that he is totally unbeatable.

I'd be really up for seeing the WWE give the rub to someone like Naka who could use it to send his career into the stratosphere, and who would legitimately deliver a match worthy of the occasion.

Roode is way better than anything that he has gotten a chance to show in NXT yet. And as for a match against Brock I will say on Roode's behalf that he's had good matches in the last couple years with the guys who he has wrestled who most closely resemble Lesnar's style; Bobby Lashley and Kurt Angle(who coincidentally at this point in his career is mostly just a guy who uses German Suplexes, submissions, and finisher spam- kinda like you know who).
