Hi.

I don't know if most of you know it but Alex Shelley and Austin Aries appear in the new video for the UK Band: Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, the stage name comes from a ZX Spectrum magazine. One of the sections of the solution to the Batman computer game contained the header "Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly".

The videoclip is pretty good and Shelley and Aries are the main feature in it, so they are the main focus of it. I liked the song, I never head about this band, I'm not from UK, but I guess it's not a very well known band, from what I can see.

Anyway, this can only mean good publicity for the band and for TNA Impact Wrestling of course. It's a good deal, and yet again TNA uses the UK market as a target, what I can see as a pretty good move on their part.

What are your toughts? And what about you UK fans, do you know this band? Will you think this is a good idea for Shelley/Aries/TNA?

i am form the uk and yes i have heard of the band barely but yes i think tna shelley and aries could benefit from this its publicity in the uk where tna recently had a successfull tour so they will get an even bigger boost over here in the uk

A bigger boost? hardly. barely anyone over here knows who TNA are. And gcwcf are not well known either. Not amongst the general public. So if its "Publicity" its very very small publicity

Believe me, Get Cape etc (solo artist by the way but I'm being a pedant) will benefit far more from the exposure on Impact than TNA will from exposure via the video. No matter how few people watch Impact, I'd bet the house that it's many, many times more than those who give a shit about Get Cape's music. His debut album in 2006 gained a small amount of mainstream exposure but fuck all since. Anyone who views this (not via IW) will almost certainly not recognise the faces involved, not give a toss about it, not link it with TNA - or even know what TNA is - and will not decide that they suddenly love wrestling and will start watching it off the back of an arty farty music clip.

Still, if you don't look at it in cold, hard marketing terms, it's quite cool. I like the song, and it's a very fun and original video.
