Well, WWE actually did it and gave Sheamus the WWE Title, and a gigantic win over John Cena. Score a big win for Unpredictability in the WWE tonight.

How do you feel about your New WWE Champion?

Optimistic.

I had mentioned elsewhere that the match had three possible outcomes, and this has been narrowed to two. Either Sheamus loses it right back to Cena tomorrow, or we can actually expect to buckle in with Sheamus as a champ until at least 1/4/10, if not the Rumble. I don't think anyone was really sold that WWE would give him the belt, by what ever means, and the result was an astounding mark out moment and possibly the most important WWE Championship title change all year. This makes me optimistic in the company because it shows that change can happen, and that there is some attention paid to viewers like myself and what it takes to really surprise us.

Sheamus can go anywhere from here. I'm hoping that he's as good as WWE feels he is, because he's got to start proving it right now.

Well Sid, it has the IWC running wild but left the audience in silence at the PPV. I guess we will have to see where it goes tomorrow night. I have a feeling that Cena may be taking time off to do movies and such, so Sheamus could be a transitional champion for a few months until he comes back. Either way, it is an exciting time in WWE at least.

I don't feel Sheamus was the best pick for the job, but its something new and refreshing we can look forward to. The ultimate test would be to see how it affects ratings, and how the audience reacts to it. From what I've read, it sounds like Sheamus received a good reaction at the PPV. We will have to wait and see.

One word - Badass. I don't like Cena, but now I officially respect him for putting him cleanly over at the pay per view. I thought Cena was gonna win, obviously, but WWE finally surprised us after how many years? Sheamus is talented as hell in my opinion, and look forward to see what he has to offfer. Hopefully he doesn't pull a Kane reign and drops the title tomorrow. And hopefully, he doesn't lose ratings, cause if he does, say goodbye to the title, Sheamus.

How do I feel about Sheamus winning the WWE title? Just like I do when I have too much mexican food. Bloated and with an intense desire to sit on the toilet.....


But really, Sheamus was just about the last person I expected to win. And only this far into his WWE career? Maybe another year or so and then you'd make a believer outta me. But now? Hell no.
