Seriously, for a C-League MMA promotion, this is a really good card that they've put together, and it's sure to be a fairly interesting watch.

I really want Keith Jardine to win. He's one of my favorite fighters for how hilariously awkward he is, and his knockout of Forrest Griffin is one of my favorites ever. I've only grown to appreciate it even more since he was a dick at the UFC Fan Expo. Is Jardine a good fighter? No. But he's very decent. Something eventful is always bound to happen when he fights, and really, he should be right there in the UFC still.

Sure, Jardine was on a 4 fight losing streak, but look at the names he lost to. Rampage, in a very close decision, Thiago Silva, Ryan Bader, and Matt Hamill. Those four guys are top light heavyweights, and Jardine put on two Fight of the Night performances during that run. I think he should have been given a chance against someone like Tim Boetsch or Jason Brilz, to get one last shot before getting cut, but that's in the past now.

I really don't know much about Trevor Prangley, other than the fact that the looks like a jacked Gordon Ramsay. I really hope Jardine wins, and I hope that he does so in impressive fashion, so he can make an immediate jump back to the UFC.

Sokoudjou vs. Houston Alexander has potential to be a fun and exciting slugfest. It's a very interesting matchup between two guys who were at one point, considered to have a big future in MMA because of their explosive knockout prowess. Sokoudjou has found some limited success since leaving the UFC, whereas Houston Alexander has two wins since 2007, which were against cans in every sense of the word. Despite both fighters being failed prospects and below average as a whole, it doesn't mean this won't be a fun fight to watch. Sloppy slugfests are exciting, and that is exactly what this is going to be. I also think that Shark Fights has to be planning a Jardine/Alexander rematch for their next show, just because, come on, who wouldn't want to see them go at it again?

Paul Daley will continue his quest to get rehired by the UFC (which probably won't happen, but hey, Karo Parisyan got a second chance) when he faces Jorge Masvidal. This fight also has potential to be a sloppy slugfest, and it should be a lot of fun to watch. I think Paul Daley is still absolutely a top 10 overall welterweight, and I think he'll take it here before he makes the jump to Strikeforce. And once he gets to Strikeforce, he better be squaring off with guys like Nick Diaz and KJ Noons.

With other UFC/WEC veterans on the card, this is really an impressive card that this C-League promotion is putting on. Here's hoping for a big win by Jardine, and two exciting fights between Sokoudjou/Alexander and Daley/Masvidal.

Yeah I agree this should be a very decent card. If anything we should see some knockouts in a couple of the fights.

Jardine vs. Prangley could end up being a decent fight. Jardine needs the win bad. A loss here I don't know what that does for his career. He really should have no problem beating Prangley though, If he lost some close fights against top Light Heavyweights in UFC then he should be able to beat Prangley. Not that I think Prangley is a bum, but I think Jardine will be to strong for him. I lol'd at the Prangley looking like a jacked Chef Ramsey comment Guy made, he really does!!

Alexander vs. Sokoudjou, I think if Alexander goes the Kimbo route and just circle around Sokoudjou for three rounds this fight will be boring. Or Alexander will brawl it out with him and make it entertaining. Alexander hasn't been to good of late so who knows what Houston will show up. Where as Sokoudjou has been on a two fight winning streak, he beat a Heavyweight prospect in Dave Herman and beat the only guy to win against JDS, Joaquim Ferreira.

Daley vs. Masvidal could be another slugfest. I don't know much of Masvidal, but looking at his record he seems to be a guy with some knockout power. We all seen Daley's capabilities with his hands, so this should be a fast paced war. After this fight I also think Daley will be heading to Strikeforce, I'm pretty sure they were in talks a little while ago.

I'm also interested in seeing the Villasenor vs. Villefort fight. Originally it Drew McFedries was supposed to fight Villasenor, but became injured so was replaced by Villefort who also fought in the UFC/WEC, I refuse to call him a UFC or WEC veteran because he only fought once in each promotion, it seems like thats all you have to do is have at least one fight in the UFC and your called a veteran. I strongly disagree, I would consider a fighter to have at least 6 fights under them before saying calling them a veteran. But back onto the fight at hand, I think it will be good. Last time we saw Villasenor he was in a battle with Jacare, as soon as he started to get going the fight was over.

I also don't mind seeing Brock Larson fight either. Dude should automatically get the win for having a great name, sounds like a porn star's name (probably because of Eddie's other porn name Brock Landers from Boogie Nights). He had a decent run in the UFC and WEC. Since being released he has been on a 3 fight winning streak.

I am truly excited for this card. Not only do I get to see one of my all time favorite fighters fight once again, but I also get to see a man who I feel is very underrated in all of MMA fight and hopefully begin his climb back to the UFC. I am of course referring to Keith Jardine and Brock Larson. I am a huge fan of both of these men and it will be great to see them both fighting once again.

Jardine/Prangley should be a solid fight. I like both men, but I definitely prefer Jardine. I have been a huge fan of Jardine since his TUF 2 days. He is an exciting fighter, with a unique look and a fun personality. He is a warrior in the cage and gives his all in every fight, whether he gets beat quick or wins a war. Prangley is very good fighter who has traveled all over the world and picked up good wins. I could honestly see either man walking away in this fight but I feel like Jardine has more to prove and will have a fire under his ass. Therefore I will be backing Keith to win this fight with a devastating KO.

Sokodjou/Alexander has slugfest written all over it. I have never been a fan of Houston Alexander but he certainly is a good striker. The same goes for Sokodjou, who I do like. I will give Alexander the advantage on the feet but I think Sokodjou will be able to take him down and pound him out, or at the very least eek out a decision.

Daley should pick up a win. I can't really say much considering I don't know who his opponent is, but Daley should be better. I am thinking a brutal KO will be in store for this one.

Villefort/Villasenor doesn't excite me much but it should be an alright fight. I really don't know who will win this one but I will be backing Villefort, mainly because his name is a combo of Vitor Belfort, or at least I think so. That gets points in my book.

Brock Larson is a very underrated fighter who was a real force in WEC, but just could not cut it in the UFC, actually he is only 2 and 3 if my memory serves me right, not a horrible record, but he didn't deserve a spot. However, he is on another winning streak which is awesome to see and he knows how to finish a fight. I expect him to work his way to a submission and put this fight away early on.

Should be a good card, but we will have to wait and see. I can't wait to see Jardine and Larson fight once again.

Yeah, like Guy said... for a C Level show, it's impressive the names they were able to get for this card. Hopefully every fighter gets paid what they're worth, and that this is a good start to one of many MMA's up-and-coming promotions.

Anyway, I'm a fan of Keith Jardine, so I of course hope the best for him as he tries to build his way back up the MMA Light Heavyweight Rankings. He should have no problem doing so against Trevor Prangley, who is actually a pretty talented fighter, but still nowhere near Jardine's level. Jardine has the better stand-up and the better wrestling. He should win by knockout.

Sokoudjou vs. Houston Alexander is the fight I would like to see most on this card. Not that it's going to be great, but you know someone's getting KTFO. My money is on Houston getting KOed, since the guy's chin is terrible. But still... Houston has some heavy, heavy hands, so you can't completely count him out. Regardless, Sokoudjou has fought the tougher fighters throughout his career and has showed himself to be a tough, respectable Light Heavyweight opponent for anyone in the Division, let alone Houston Alexander.

Paul Daley, in my opinion, is in trouble. As we all know, Daley has a LOT of power behind his punches and if he connects... it's lights out for his opponent. However, his opponent, Jorge Masvidal, is very techinical on the feet and it's going to take a lot for Daley to win a stand-up battle against him. Not to mention Masvidal is well versed on the ground, so if the fight makes its way there, he should have the advantage over Daley. Definitely going to be interesting to see what happens, but my money is on Masvidal to pull off the upset.

And that's really all I have to say. I'll just add that I hope Pete Spratt and Brock Larson win their respective fights. I like them both a lot and would enjoy seeing them work their way back up to the UFC.

For a low-tier promotion the amount of work they've put into this event is amazing. Their card is solid, with big enough names to get in your casual viewer but not so big that they put themselves out of business. Shark Fights has done the right thing here, no freakshows, no giant names. Just a good solid card. The production values look great and they've got Bas on commentary.

Definitely interested in the Co-main events and the Daley fight have piqued my interest and I'll be watching this.

On a side note the promo they're running for this is top notch

So Paul Daley missed weight and will give up 10% of his purse. He will also give up any share of a fight of the night award, should his fight receive that honor. Not a great start for Daley on his road back to the top. It makes me a little mad when fighters miss weight seeing as they know what they have to do pre-fight and then don't do it. I guess it doesn't matter that much since the fight will still happen though.

A decent enough card. What you would expect from a smaller company. The production value was shit, but the commentators made up for it. Bas Rutten and Don Frye were great. Frye was hysterical the entire night and really made the fights more entertaining when the pace slowed down. The third guy in the team wasn't all that great.

Larson/Saffiedine was upsetting. Saffiedine gave a very good performance and deserved the win he got. Something must have been wrong with Brock because he didn't seem himself. He had to of had some sort of injury or was sick or something. Very uncharacteristic. Saffiedine needs a bump up in competition as far as I am concerned. Strikeforce needs to pick him up and see what he can do.

Villasenor/Villefort was alright. Villefort basically dominated the fight the whole way through. Joey just couldn't get out of the blocks and didn't do much of anything. Villefort looked great through the first and second rounds but obviously gassed in the third. He needs to fix that if he really wants to make it.

Daley vs. Masvidal wasn't terribly exciting. Very close fight, the unanimous decision was bull shit, it was a split decision. Daley couldn't find his range the entire fight but managed to steal it in the end. I won't bitch about it to much cause the fight could have gone either way honestly. However, Daley's post fight interview left a lot to be desired. Daley is quickly making himself one of the top heels in MMA. And people give Kos shit for being an asshole.

Houston vs. Soukodjou was a shoot out. Man oh man was that a fun fight. Soko looked good and appeared to be on his way to victory, except for the fact that Houston is tough as nails and wouldn't fucking die. I have mad respect for Houston and his chin, however, I think Houston is a bitch for throwing some headbutts from the mount. Soko definitely suffers from the same complex as Vitor Belfort. If he can't finish early he gets frustrated and begins to break down. Houston beat Soko's ass in the second. Also, the referee for this fight sucked ass and should definitely be fined or something. Soko took way to many punches when the fight was clearly over.

The main event between Jardine and Prangley was good. Jardine looked awesome from the start but Prangley kept his cool and found an opening. He dropped Jardine with a nice knee and uppercut. It was nice to see Jardine actually use his BJJ for once though, both looked good but Prangley looked better in the first, same goes for the second. Jardine looked awesome in the final minute of the fight and obviously caught Prangley. So much drama to finish the fight, but Jardine just gave to little to late. Prangley earned the win and it sucks to see Jardine lose his fifth straight fight.

I don't have much else to say. It was a bad night for a couple of my favorite fighters and hopefully they can bounce back. Prangley looked very good, but not ready to fight in the UFC like the commentators thought he should do. It is obvious that this was a minor league fight card and that none of the men fighting on it really deserve a spot in the UFC right now. Solid card but not great, a nice debut for Sharks Fighting.

Well, Keith Jardine needs to go ahead and hang them up. That's 5 losses in a row for him, and the fact of the matter is, while he kept this fight close, it shouldn't have been close in the first place. The Keith Jardine that fought Chuck Liddell would have killed Prangley last night, but instead he took a beating and finished the fight with a flurry. There's just no reason to believe Jardine can recover from this, unless he's given nothing but straight bums from this point on (which nobody wants to see).

Some people might be surprised that Jorge Masvidal was able to hang with Paul Daley, but of course, I'm not. However, I'm still disappointed in Masvidal; he was nowhere near as aggressive as he should have been, and had he... he would have certainly won this fight. Daley's heavy hands are intimidating, but sometimes you just have to trust your boxing and I feel Masvisdal didn't do that last night. Very unfortunate, because I would have loved to seen him pull of the upset, like I know he was capable of doing.

And Sokoudjou vs. Houston Alexander was awesome, end of story. Alexander looked perhaps the best he's ever have, and if he can rack up a few more wins, there's no doubt we'll be seeing him in Strikeforce within the next year. As far as Sokoudjou... very exciting fighter, but he just doesn't have good defense. He's not going to make it much further in the sport.

All in all, those are the three fights I watched this morning and it was a fairly entertaining show. I'm bummed out by the results (especially since my Predictions for the Shark/UFN contest went to shit), but still a solid show from Shark Fights regardless.

I just got done watching the Jardine fight, and the Alexander fight. And I do agree, Jardine is done, when you lose 5 straight, you just gotta hang up the gloves, he's just not anywhere near as good as he used to be.

The Alexander/ Sokoudjou fight was fucking awesome. Fast paced match with Sokoudjou looking strong at the start, but looked to lose that momentum in the 2nd round, he seems to get gassed pretty easily. And what the fuck was up with that ref? Took Alexander like 30 shots to the head to finally convince the referee to stop the damn match.

Last nights fights were pretty solid. Like Indy said Frye and Rutten helped make it way more enjoyable. Frye might have been a little drunk, but he was being funny as hell. I loved the comment when he said Jardine was like a rabid octopus. However the third guy chiming in was a tool. He did not no anything about the fighters, and kept giving the wrong information on some of them.

Larson vs. Saffiedine was a disappointment. Larson looked similar to Penn in his last fight. Other than the first minute of the fight Larson was very dull looking. Something wasn't right with him. Saffiedine showed some good striking and had no problem controlling the whole fight.

Villasenor vs. Villefort was basically another one sided fight. Villefort was the dominant fighter for the most part, towards the end of the second Villasenor landed a nice knee to Villefort's face, which was the best thing he did throughout the fight. Villefort looked gassed when he was in his corner at the end of the second round, it showed in the third but he was still able to hold on and get the decision.

Daley vs. Masvidal showed us just how bad Daley's wrestling skills are. The guy has no takedown defense whatsoever. I completely disagree with the unanimous decision given to Daley, if anything it a split decision was more worthy. Daley had trouble connecting until the last minute in the third round, which is what won him the fight. I agree with jmt, if Masvidal would've striked a little more then we would've had a better chance. He also needs to work on his ground game, his takedowns were nice but once there he hardly worked at all, providing he did he could've probably have the decision in his favor. Daley just showed he still is a piece of shit during the interview after the win with his comments. He didn't hear the crowd cheering for him when he came out? The crowd was only booing for his lackluster performance, which he should of known thats what it was. I find it funny how he made the comment that he makes more than the people in the crowd, funny I saw Rashad Evans there, I bet he makes a lot more than Daley!!

Alexander vs. Sokoudjou was a very entertaining fight. Sokoudjou had Alexander rocked in the first. Whether it was instinct or just an iron chin Alexander hung in there. I'm sure like everyone else thought that it was about to be over after Soko's flurry on Houston. What a turnaround though for the second round, it then became Alexander's turn to mount the attack, his was definitely more effective. That ref is sure lucky nothing is wrong with Sokoudjou, the fight went on at least 15 seconds longer than it should have. Sokoudjou wasn't making any attempt to protect himself after the first few shots. If anything would've happened to him, I would've had the ref pay the medical bills, since he was the one that put him in danger. Anyhow Houston looked great, took the beating in the first and dished it out in the second.

Jardine vs. Prangley was a classic tale of to little to late. Jardine was beat for the better part of three rounds, then decided to pour it on at the end of the fight, which hurt Prangley but wasn't enough to put him out. Jardine has quickly became the Pulver of Light Heavyweights. The thing that sucks for him the most is that some of those losses are in close decisions, its not like he is just getting his ass beat in the fights. That fight was supposed to be Jardine's stepping stone into getting back in the UFC, now he is really gonna have to put a string of good fights together to get back there.
