A REAL American
Sean Waltman, one of the members of the infamous Kliq backstage faction (Hall, Nash, HBK, HHH, and Justin Credible). Waltman has been in wrestling for over twenty years now believe it or not. From his days as the Lighting Kid, the 1-2-3 Kid, and so on. But wrestling fans mainly know Waltman from his stints in WCW as a member of the New World Order stable as "Syxx" during the Monday night Wars. And after that in the WWF as a member of D Generation-X as "X-Pac" during the attitude era.

Waltman made history in both the nWo & DX. Winning various championships while in WCW & the WWF/E in those factions with his fellow kliq members. But which wrestling faction will you remember Sean Waltman from in depth, the nWo or DX? Because it won't be from Waltman's short-lived "X-Factor" faction along with fellow kliq member Justin Credible and Albert aka Tensai.

Even though he was a prominent member of the original nWo, he had a longer run in DX with several high profile feuds. Even so, the fact that he was able to re-align with the new nWo as X-Pac speaks to his versatility as a wrestler.

X-Factor probably would have done better had Waltman held the IC title at the time instead of Albertensai.

First thing's first, your threads are horrible. They're all like poorly written Wikipedia stubs with an inane question at the end. You are awful.

To answer your stupid question, X-Pac is far more popular than Syxx and frankly it isn't really close. He was a forgettable member of the nWo that accomplished very little. He was at the forefront of DX from the moment he joined them and he did his best work as a part of that faction.

DX by far and this is coming from someone who probably watched ALOT more WCW then WWF during that time frame. I barely even remember Syxx being in the nWo and I pretty much watched the entire nWo run. It might just be me but when I hear the words Sean Waltman, D-Generation X is the first thing that comes to mind.

I loved X-Pac in the WWENWO. I thought his feud with Kane was a great. A fantastic continuation of his feud with Kane from his DX era and I loved him running around with Kane's mask.

In the end however, he was undoubtedly more successful in Degeneration X. Numerous title runs. Numerous high profile fueds.

I always did have a soft spot for him. I never quite understood the X Pac sucks chants, he could go in the ring.

I will always like the him better as Syxx as part of the original nWo. Him and the original Wolfpac with Hall and Nash were great to watch. I loved his version of the crotch chop, where he would do that hop around thing. I loved his finisher The Buzzkiller aka Crossface Chickenwing. Don't get me wrong though, I loved him as part of DX, but I will always like him more for his time in WCW, even if it was short lived. :)

Honest answer - the only decent thing I remember about Syxx was on WCW v NWO world tour video game from 1997. This was exceptionally fun in those days and Syxx was a good character to play as.

But that sums up Syxx. He did his best work by far in DX 1998.

I never seen his run in the original nwo, so i have 2 say dx.

I did like him. Whenever i think of xpac, dx pops into my mind. The dx faction is the 1st thing to come to my mind when i think of him. So yeah dx will be the faction i remember him for. I was a fan of dx and he was a part of the reason for it.

The attitude for his character was perfect for dx. I remember being really pissed off with him when he turned his back on kane with tori.

The main reason I posted was to tell Nate to relax. Dont be giving out about threads. If they are "horrible" why are you wasting your time with responding to a "stupid" question?
I do however, agree with Nate on his points regarding xpac. There is just no need for the abuse.

Waltman did ok as Syxx in the first incarnation of the nWo in WCW, but his best run was without a doubt as a member of D-Generation X in the WWE.

He was brought in in an immediately high-profile role, as one of the DX army that HHH recruited after taking control of the faction from Shawn Michaels and he ended up having some really good matches and feuds throughout his WWE career. I never understood why he ended up being so hated by fans and getting what became known as "X-Pac heat", he was always very entertaining to me.

He won quite a few belts in the 'E, and his run as Kane's tag-team partner before betraying him and stealing his girlfriend Tori was a fantastic storyline and I consider that Pac's best work in his career. I remember a good feud with Jericho also, and Pac was always a solid worker in the mid-card.

His re-joining the nWo when they arrived in WWE was ok, nothing special and didn't compare to his DX run, and it was probably the right time for him to leave WWE after this. I thought Waltman was a good worker, but definitely his friendship with power players like HHH, Michaels and Nash kept him around alot longer than he would have been.

Sean Waltman has been, is, and always will be one of my favorite Wrestlers. On my list, he’s somewhere in the Top 20. I saw him once on ESPN wrestling for the GWF and thought, “This guy is my size and he’s doing what I’d like to do when I grow up”. I never did try, in case you were wondering.

As far as Syxx vs. X-Pac, I’m one of the few, actually, after looking up at the poll, I’m the only one, who thinks it’s a tie. Syxx and X-Pac are definitely the best out of all his ring names and personas, but I really associate him as being just 1 of 3 SuperStars to ever be a part of 2 of the Top 3 Factions of all time. I don’t really count Ravishing Rick Rude, only because he was a manager type for both Factions. I don’t really count Shawn Michaels, only because he was in the WWE’s version of N. W. O. and not the WCW’s version. To me, Waltman is the personification of the Kliq.

I don't have a problem preferring his DX run to his nWo run as obviously he was more popular in DX, but to say his nWo run was forgettable or he was a forgettable member or anything like that is crazy. His run with the first DX Army incarnation was from March of 1998 to March of 1999, one year. DX reunited at the end of 1999 and at first he was a big part but eventually his injuries and the rise of HHH caused him to be less significant, though he did have a big title match against HHH during this time that was fun.

He was a member of the nWo from September 1996 to October 1997 and was a big part of the group. His cruiserweight matches were well received, he was a big part of the Outsiders angles with Hall and Nash, even tagging with Hall during Nash's injuries.

I think a lot of people didn't see much of the nWo from 1996 to 1997 based on comments I read on this site talking about way too many members and being watered down, not knowing how good DiBiase was with the nWo or Syxx. Too many people think of the nWo as the incarnation just before Starrcade 97 and through 98.

True dat, he wasn't well known in the NWO because he was just one of those members that made the group look ridiculously huge and interfered in the matches. So DX because he is more known for that and actually did something. He was in the attitude era version and was HHH's right-hand-man. He was part of the DX invasion when they went to WCW headquarters and was memorable.

So in the NWO, he did nothing, in DX, he made himself worth it.

Again, this is just a flat out false post.

I don't mean the opinion that his DX stint was better or memorable. That's opinion.

But the idea that he did nothing or was just thrown in as one of many that made it ridiculous huge is just false. He was a major player. The throw ins were Ray Traylor, Wallstreet and (unfortunate that this is all he was) Scott Norton. Wallstreet hardly ever appeared on television except for Saturday Night.

The Corporation had 15+ members
The Ministry had around 10

First of all if you don't like the thread then don't reply on it "Nate"! You just made an ass of yourself by saying what you just said here on these forums you trick.

But anyways. I think that X-Pac's work in WWF/E overshadowed his work in WCW apart of the nWo not only due to the time frame. But he was the backbone of DX and one of fire's that was the attitude era. If it wasn't for Sean Waltman being at the right place at the right time his career could have been where Billy Kidman and Gregory Helm's career's are at right now.

Before you point the finger, read the thread first you mark!

IMO he played his role in both groups absolutely perfectly, but since WCW's 1996-1997 was my favourite year as a fan, I'm going to say Syxx is my preference. The original wolf pack was ridiculously bad ass/ entertaining. It's just unfortunate that there isn't two of him -- so he could've continued his nWo run and still been a part of DX.

I just don't think this is close. He was successful as Syxx. He was one of the original member, and he really had some good crusierweight feuds and matches. His run in DX was much more high profile though. He was their when DX "crossed enemy lines". It was a big deal when they brought him in the night after Mania. His feud with Kane alone got him a lot more attention than anything he did in the NWO. When I think of Sean Waltman I think of DX.

I never liked him at all, his primary move is a crotch chop and he looks like he's always dirty. That said, he somehow fit into DX. He was always like a "me too" in the nWo, like a mascot they couldn't get rid of. But he fits in with the likes of Chyna, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn. Though since you gave the option, I voted for kliq member...I like him better behind the scenes where I don't have to see him.
