From WWE.com:

Moments after screwing Rob Van Dam out of the ECW Championship, Paul Heyman gave the following statement to ECW.com:

"As of this moment, Rob Van Dam has been suspended for 30 days."

I approached Heyman immediately as he came backstage following the match to ask him why he screwed Van Dam. Heyman only smiled and offered the above statement. I followed him to ask him why RVD was suspended and why he was screwed out of the ECW Championship?but he only walked faster. When I finally got to his office door, Heyman slammed the door in my face.

Unfortunately, what should have been RVD's holiday weekend homecoming went from bad to worse to downright horrible. On Monday morning, everything seemed cool as RVD walked into the Wachovia Center as both the ECW and WWE Champion; Tuesday night, however, he left the building with no gold and no job for a month.

After losing the WWE Championship to Edge in a Triple Threat Match on RAW, RVD also lost his ECW Championship to Big Show live on ECW on Sci Fi Tuesday night. With the referee down, Van Dam seemingly had the match won after a Five-Star Frog Splash. Paul Heyman went to count the pinfall like he did at One Night Stand?but before he got to three, Heyman stopped and stared at RVD.

Van Dam looked like he had just lost his best friend, and as he and Heyman did some jaw jacking, Big Show recovered. He spun Rob around and nailed him with a chair, and after a vicious chokeslam on that same chair, ECW had a new champion.
And now, with the suspension levied by Heyman, it looks like RVD won't have a chance to right the wrong he has been handed.

This is crazy, I thought Vince would brush this off his shoulders, not that he shouldn't, but with his rules saying you can smoke the stuff 12 hours before a show, plus RVD being a main eventer.

BRUSH IT OFF HIS SHOULDER???!!!Are you crazy?Look RVD should be out of WWE.Terminated.You can't expect RVD to get caught with drugs and not get in trouble. If Vince did nothing do you know what the superstars that did get in trouble for drugs would do.CAUSE A RIOT!

He shouldn't be terminated because Masters wasn't terminated. The policy says that after the 4th offence is termination. Vince has to stick to his rules, he can't change them midway and they have to be enforced even if his best guy does the wrong. RVD will be back.

I'm sorry, but if you haven't noticed Marijuana is hardly even considered a drug in Ohio. Anything less than 100 grams is only a $100 dollar fine, a MINOR MISDEMEANOR. In a sense this is equivalent to parking and minor traffic offenses, late payment of fees, and building code violations. Marijuana, a term created by the United States in the 1920-30's in order to give it a "mexican connotation" was only made illegal in order to stem immigration (for many Mexicans crossed the border with it) and to spread racism against our southern neighbors. The fact is, RVD was taken in for a Minor Misdemeanor for 'drug' possession, of a substance that EVERYONE IN THE WWE AND ECW knew he smoked. His old tights had 4:20 on them, and he even had a shirt that said "4:20, I'll smoke your ass" in his ECW days. To punish someone with a suspension, while knowing he acted in the way he was suspended for, is a logical and reasonable conclusion WWE enacted in order to save face. To say he should be terminated is not only against the wellness program, but narrow minded and based upon an idea brought forth by the United States in order to spread hate and discrimination.

I'm glad RVD joked with the ECW fans in Philly with a toking gesture, he and Sabu put their bodies through so much--who the hell can blame them for dabbling in substances used for pain relief for hundreds of years--Including Queen Elizabeth (rumored).

WWE slapped him on the hand, because that was all he deserved.

He really is, the whole damn (ECW) show.

Lets see what happens in these 30 days, time to build some characters. The new impact players, CM punk, Knoxx, Test, who's next
