Rusev probably will be an Upper MidCard villain once his current push hits the inevitable roadblock in the form of an over babyface.
How his character is handled thereafter will be key. I also do feel, the handling of Lana might hold the key to how long Rusev can remain somewhat relevant as a heel going forward. I just don't see him as ever being a serious babyface threat at all.
Maybe he can be an Authority stooge like Kane is currently, but with slightly better booking that will make him look intimidating and more relevant as an in-ring presence, whilst Lana can take over the Vickie role and keep up the "russian" accent and maybe even move onto other clients with different gimmicks...
