Rule changes you would like to see in sports...

NFL:

- Go to the college/high school overtime rules if you can't find a different one.

- Use NCAA rule for stoppage of clock after you convert a third down

NCAA:

- Both feet in bounds required for a catch

- You aren't down until touched by another player

- BCS eliminated, playoff put in place.

All Football:

NEW Overtime system. It's so simple. Shorten the time from a regular quarter, play an overtime period through until someone wins. If you want ties, have it end after one period if no one scored. If you don't want ties, go to sudden death or the current HS/NCAA system in the 2nd period.

The NFL is too pass happy, What Brees and Brady are doing is watered down by how QB centered the rules are. Marino had it tougher, make it harder on Bress. Let contact happen between the corners and wide outs after 5 yards, just reasonable contact, like no holding or pushing or tripping other than that go nuts. To make it shorter go back to the rules under the old CBA with some minor changes, like the above.

1. the NFL replay system. Teams should have challenges, but only lose one if the call stands/is confirmed. Why punish a team for getting a call correct? Also, the booth upstairs should have more opportunity to call for a replay then just on scoring plays, inside of the 2 minute warning, and in OT.
So they are not abused. Keeps teams from calling too many challenges and slowing the game down.

But if you only lose a challenge if the call is upheld, you aren't abusing anything. You're just making sure the play is properly called, which is something both the players and the league want.

I'd rather see the officials look at replay 10 times a game if it means that those 10 calls are all correct.
