This should be no contest at all. RE is better than Boring Hill, but there is no way RE4 should even come close to topping Zelda. That's all I got to say about this one.

Zelda 4 Life.

Again two great games, Resident Evil 4 is a damn fine game, but at the end of the day Link and his wonderful Orcarina takes it. There's a reason it's wildly regarded as the greatest game of all time, and whilst it still has its flaws I just find it better than RE4

Has RE4 really come this far? I've played it several times, I didn't have much fun. I don't know why everybody is all up in arms about it; the gameplay is mediocre. In the past this tourney I haven't voted for Ocarina of Time, much to the irking of just about everybody, but between then and now I purchased the game. I've only played several hours of it, but I must admit I am having a lot of fun. I was never interested in the series, it just boils down to its style direction, etc., but the game itself is very fun. I think I've proven to myself the right to vote for it here.

I am going to vote for Resident Evil here because, to be quite frank, I played both of the games and I did not like OoT. It's a shame because I think if I had played it for a lot longer, I would have found it to be a good game. However, I liked Resident Evil 4 and for that reason, I see no reason why I should vote against it.

Vote: RE4

Shooting zombies, or picking flowers and making potions with an elf?

It seems like a simple choice to me. I am of the mindset that every Zelda game ever made is absolutely horrible, and dreadfully boring. I have never in my life been entertained for a moment by a Zelda game, where as I like to shoot things.

I voted RE4. You should too.

48.7 that is the worst thing I have yet to read in this tournament, it makes me think you've not even played the game. Is Link an Elf? Nope...does he pick flowers? Nope. Seems you're getting ti confused with wOw

One of the scariest moments for me playing on my N64 was when you came accross the zombies in OoT and the blood curdling scream when they attacked you. So if you want zombies, it's there in OoT...oh you want to shoot? We have a bow and arrow and a sling shit for the lil uns.

Methinks you need to research a bit further.

Ocarina of Time is a better game, let me just get that out of the way first. It's a game I loved to death as a kid, and one of my fondest memories was spending all night with my friend sleeping over so we could beat the final boss in the game, and just how fucking proud of ourselves we were when we won. I replayed the game recently for the first time in nearly a decade...and it just didn't hold up for me. It was still fun, but I suppose all the games of the last decade have spoiled me forever. Don't get me wrong, I'll always love OoT and it's quite possibly the greatest game ever made. I imagine it'll get most of the votes here.

But I'm voting for RE4. Playing through that game was one of the first times in YEARS that a game had totally and completely consumed me. Not since the GTA series had a game captured my attention so much and taken so many hours. Something about the game just instills wonderful joyous memories inside of me, and outside of my personal favorite RE game Outbreak, it's the best in the franchise. It gets my vote here because I imagine it will lose, and I'd like it to atleast no lose badly.

So, vote OoT or RE4, either one is a winner in my book.

Tough choices, Tough choices. We're looking at two different genres completely here, although I take offense to the statement made by 48.7 in that Link is not an elf, but comes from Kokiri Village, a magical village in the forest guarded by the benevolent Deku Tree, who....I'll stop right there.

With Resident Evil games, you know you are always going to be in for a ride, as cliched and hackneyed as that may sound. I still remember playing an old PS1 version of a game called Biohazard (The name for Resident evil in Japan) and playing it all nigth with friends, crapping our pants at some pretty shoddy graphics compared to these days.

But this is Resident Evil 4, and I didnt own a Gamecube when it came out, nor did I buy it for my PS2. I borrowed my friends PC copy, and it was bad. No mouse support? Really? Thats just not good for a PC FPS. Apparently it's much better on consoles, but I'm only going on with what I'm given.

Nintendo 64 however i played on the console, and it was great, and it's even great on a PC emulator. So that gets my vote.

48.7, you get to shoot zombies in Ocarina of Time as well. Just go into Hyrule Field at night as a child, or walk around the city as an adult after you get the bow and arrow. Then, once you get Epona, you can ride around and shoot things on horse back as well.

In fact, Ocarina of Time has everything that Resi 4 has, AND more. The puzzle solving, trading, getting better weapons, fighting giant monsters, avoiding getting grabbed by giant hands from the ceiling etc etc.

Fact is, is that Resident Evil 4 traded in all the suspenseful camera angles, tight spaces and eerie music for a 3rd person shooter with absolutely no replay value except the Survivor missions (or whatever they're called). Apart from the zombies, weird freaks, and character names, Resi 4 wasn't really even a Resident Evil game, and Resi 5 even more so. YOU DON'T SET GAMES LIKE THAT IN THE DAY TIME DAMMIT! IT'S NOT SCARY!

Sorry, anyway, Ocarina of Time was probably THE best game on the N64, while Resident Evil 4 was a refreshing cut away from the usual Resident Evil formula (or virus if you will lol) that was basically going to sell regardless.

The Mark of Zur-En-Arrh votes Ocarina of Time, hands down.

I've never played Resident Evil 4, but to be honest I can't see any game beating Ocarina of Time. Take this as you want, since I can't argue against Resident Evil, but I can promote OoT. And no matter what Zelda takes this one.

Mario 64 might have been the first 3D game, but OoT was the first one to take it to the next level and create a game where you can do almost anything. The huge variety of scenery and surroundings is amazing. The desert of the Gerudos, the waters of Lake Hylia, the Lost Woods, the volcano that's home to the Gorons and the many areas to explore filled with people like the Kakariko Village, Marketplace, Gerudo Sanctuary and Long Long Ranch. You can ride through the Hyrule Field searching for Poes or go exploring the Graveyard. When you start off the game you instantly feel in control and whether you take time looking at every inch of Kokiri Forest or head straight to the Deku Tree for your first mission you're gonna enjoy yourself. Every moment from then on is an adventure as you're thrust through temples, dungeons, graves, races and puzzles. After the first three missions, including the amazing Jabu-Jabu's stomach dungeon, you get to head to the Temple of Time where the game really picks up. When you become an adult you get to see the world around you changed from the dark practices of Ganondorf over 10 years, and it makes you sad to enter the Marketplace which was once a happy and thriving place to find it infested with zombies and destroyed. The world is a completely different place, and it's up to you to stop it from being finished. As you move from temple to temple, the Forest, Fire, Water, Shadow and Spirit, in order, you just get amazed by the creativity and uniqueness of each world. The Forest has a false sense of calm whereas really it's haunted by the, in my opinion, terrifying dead hands. The Fire Temple gives a sense of desperation as you avoid being burnt to pieces and race to find the Gorons. The Water is puzzling and frustrating as you try to figure out when you should raise and lower the water level to make it to the end. The Shadow is just creepy, zombies creeping around everywhere and invisible enemies making life miserable. The Spirit Temple, my personal favourite, has a huge sense of options and choices as you try and find your destination. Finally, when you reach Ganondorf's castle, you must overcome the most powerful enemy in the game before reaching the final boss, but before you finish the game you embark on an extremely fun race down the ruins of Hyrule Castle. There's also the many side quests you can try, like getting Epona or the Biggorons Sword. All in all, this was the first game that gave real freedom, and is just bursting with creativity and exploration. I know I've never played Resident Evil 4, but I'm certain it has nothing on what I think is the greatest game ever made. Vote Ocarina of Time.
