Ron Paul Finishes Third In Iowa

Why even bother with the debates and the polls and the soundbytes? We all know it's a load of shit. The only thing that matters is track record in the past.

Because for some reason, someone thinks spending months in Iowa and New Hampshire is a good idea.

As for the track record, for the life of me I don't get the hatred of changing your mind on something. Yes, Heaven forbid the circumstances changed on something and my point of view has shifted. I guess I'll just need to stick with the same thing for the rest of time until I die, because I don't want to EVER change my ideas.

I don't think it's impossible that someone might change their mind, nor do I think it's a bad thing that they might do so. The trouble is when they're clearly doing it for political advantage, not for legitimate reasons. And especially when they start contradicting themselves on the campaign trail.

What I mean about track record is this - actions speak louder than words. No matter what a candidate tells you he's going to do, I play it conservatively - if you haven't shown some track record of doing it in the past, I don't buy it. Which is why I don't really care what any candidate, Democratic or Republican, promises or says on the campaign trail. The safest expectation is to see what you did in the past, and apply it to the next four years.

That makes perfect sense. Still gets annoying though.

Can I get a list of these values that America is based on? I've heard about them every five minutes from every GOP person and I've never heard what they actually are.

There's a chick from Alaska you may not have heard of. Name is Palin. She actually is.

Romney officially wins by eight total votes. I think calling it a tie is certainly acceptable, especially since there are no recounts allowed in Iowa.
