Sooo as we all know, this Monday will be the WWE vs. TNA event that everyone has wanted. But, what nobody has cared to remember is that ROH is also on Monday nights. And sure, not everyone can watch ROH, but that's not what I'm asking.

What I'm asking is, how do you think ROH will do against the first hour of TNA?

Will they still get their usual ratings, or will TNA bring them down a notch or two?

Unfortunately, I do think ROH will be the promotion lost in the shuffle. I'm sure the ratings will be a step below normal. When it comes to wrestling, I live and breath for ROH- but even I will be setting the DVR for ROH and opting to watch TNA instead this Monday. And why not? A live TNA show on a Monday night is something that has never happened before. I wanna see the trainwreck that is Hulk Hogan talk about himself like he's the next coming of Christ; I wanna see obscene amounts of Nigel McGuiness; I wanna see the Young Bucks debut; and damn it, I wanna see RVD! I'll be switching over to ROH/RAW during the commercials of TNA, and I'll be sure to watch the complete shows- but TNA will be my top priority this Monday.

Honestly I don't think this will effect ROH at all. In fact I don't think TNA is going to see a big lift in ratings. I wouldn't be surprised to see them still linger in that 1.0-1.3 rating they seem to always have.

Besides TNA's fans and the IWC not many people outside are going to know they are even on this Monday. And besides the fans that remember Bret Hart, I don't think the WWE will really be effected by this.

So my point is, I don't think this Monday is going to be as dramatic as others think. Am I excited? Yes, I'll be tuning into TNA for the first time in over 2 years. I catch the occasional ppv if I can find a good stream online, but I avoid Impact at all costs as it ruined TNA for me. TNA has to do more advertising outside of the IWC and Spike TV. They just aren't reaching the masses, and I think Monday will prove that.

Is there even a rating for ROH? I heard HDNet isn't even recognized by Nielson because I've never once seen ROH's ratings reported over the net. Anyway, I do think it'll affect ROH's viewership which I doubt is significant because very few people have HDnet. I would assume that maybe 6000 people watch ROH every week on tv so if it comes down to the 8' o clock hour between TNA & ROH, I think whatever audience ROH has would be cut in 3/4. Unless ROH comes on a major network, no one will care for them but the diehard fanbase.

The reason HDNet is not recognised by Neilson anymore is due to coverage, only a hand full of cable networks have the network on board, But it also leaves ROH with an advantage, they don't have to worry about ratings and such like the major promotions do, they just need to focus on DVD sales mostly and I hope that Ring of Honor makes the most of this and does what ECW did back in the monday night wars, just be the little guy that puts on a great show and not bother with competing with the majors because when you start to think about competing with the big guns all that you built will crumble and youll have nothing left.

IMO I will be watching all three shows the day after on stream, i seriously don't really want to see Hogan attempt to steal the show once more because he is an afterthought in todays industry, I'm more concerned with Watching Raw live Monday and see Bret Hart after a long hiatus adress situations that need to be adressed.

So as for Ring Of Honor, they will put on a show regardless, TNA needs this so they can justify putting Hogan on the roster, if they show ratings of 1.0 i doubt Dixie will be proud.

ROH should not learn from ECW because ECW went bankrupt in the end taking small steps. ROH has been around for as long as TNA has and with how big the internet has been this decade, the're still not much of a #3 promotion as ECW was. ROH needs to try to compete. Paul Heyman's goal was to compete, he just wasn't a good enough businessman to get there. Paul didn't stay underground on purpose, you know? If ROH doesn't get on mainstream tv and try to become number 1, no one will care. Every wrestling company should have the goal to be #1. If not, they'll continue to be the small promotion that graduates there talent off to college.

Hogan stealing the show? No bro, unless you consider him receiving tv time as stealing the show. I have faith Hogan will put TNA in a good direction. Most fans can't get it through their head that he didn't sign onto TNA to become an active wrestler. He'll be a business partner w/Dixie and will be an on air personality. Not to mention, the Young Bucks will be on the show, RVD may make an appearance, and more surprises may be on the show. I don't see how anyone could be a wrestling fan and deliberately not watch TNA or wrestling on this night.

Umm...huh? It was actually the exact opposite that triggered their bankruptcy, Heyman spent far too much money that he didn't have trying to make his little indy fed a legit number three promotion and bankrupted his promotion in the process. If anything he tried to take too large of steps too quickly.

As for ROH on Monday, I don't get HDNet so I just watch the show the next morning online usually, so I'm really missing anything here.

Spent money? I don't know if he spent money because I don't know what he spent it on in regards to ECW but I know he mismanaged money and that's his fault. He's also to blame for his refusal to get investors who wanted to invest in the company involved. He alone wanted his hands on everything and as a result, he wasn't getting sleep and it corrupted his way of thinking and his way of doing business. ECW had no business shutting down. They were selling out shows until the day they closed. They could've continued to operate even without a tv deal. He was on the right path but when he lost his tv deal and couldn't get another one, it was the nail in the coffin for him.

All Paul had to do was manage to keep his tv deal and manage his money and he would've been okay. ROH can do the same. But if ROH is going to base how their company moves around another man's failure and not try to compete, then they're quite dumb. ROH needs to do something drastic because they were born around the same time as TNA and they are vastly behind TNA. I understand TNA has investors but on top of ROH not having that, ROH is also losing some of their buzz and luster on the internet even among their own fanbase. It's time that they expand and venture out. You can only stay so small and indy for so long without going to the next level. The PWGs, The DGUSAs, Chikaras, are all taking some of ROH's shine. ROH on HDNet is a step up but by now they should have been doing a live PPV every month. Even ECW had that.

ROH v TNA?

ROH is worried ab out TNA? TNA will not put ROH out of business. TNA will not sign away all of ROH's guys, and try to bury the company. WWE, however, will sign all the top guys they produce, and purposely put shows on in the same area, just to upstage the promotion.

I don't think ROH will suffer that much on Monday. I, for one, didn't even know ROH aired on Mondays, and wasn't fully aware they had a weekly show. I thought it was all on DVD. They'll lose some viewers for that night, but won't lose any fans. Consider it a small bump in the road, unless TNA does go to Monday nights on a consistent basis.
