Since violating the wellness policy he was smashed by a guitar and now on his return he got kicked inside the steel steps. Is he just being punished or is this a sign that he will be futured endeavored soon? Is this a warning to other superstars?

Also, I think he'll just go back to NXT and find a new gimmick there. It's a good thing imo, seeing as he was getting ADR cheers, which is not what a heel needs.

Del Rio is a heel, and Ricardo was a guy that the fans kinda liked. Get the guy the fans are liking away from the villain is pretty sound logic. Not just that, but then Ricardo can eventually come get his revenge on the evil Del Rio. Ready-made feud for his return. Maybe Ricardo becomes a manager for a new charge. Maybe he starts wresting. Maybe he becomes a new authority figure type. Who knows.

Del Rio doesn't need him anymore. Whether they bring Ricardo back to instantly cause ADR the title or give him time in development to lose that weight the fat burners oh so badly needed to destroy and train some more he should be back, or fade into irrelevancy ala JTG, Primo, Epico, Ted DiBiase and others.

Del Rio without Ricardo can start to draw real heat. Let's face it, having Ricardo, a comedy and friendly character was being used like an anchor for Del Rio's heat. People didn't seem to know if they should boo him or not. I'm interested about Rodriguez's future, he will probably return with Mysterio. Or just cost Del Rio's championshp to Christian at SummerSlam.
