Return of the WrestleMania Tournament

At WrestleMania IV there was a 14 man tournament to crown the undisputed WWF CHampion. The title was left vacant after Andre the Giant attempted to sell the belt to the "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase. I think the PPV was a pretty cool event, and definitely a unique WrestleMania gimmick that hasn't been seen since.

1.) Do you think a tournament for the WWE title at a future WrestleMania would be a good idea?
2.) Who would you book your tournament?

I would like to see this happen.

Im going with a 16 man tournament just to make it easyer as Hogan and Andre got a first round BYE in that tourny. This is both brands together assumeing one day they unify the heavyweight titles cause there would be no room for two tournaments. But either way I chose 8 raw superstars and 8 Smackdown superstars. This match would result from a conteversal finish of some kind. The superstars would be chossen from winning qualifying matches on RAW and SD.

The finals would then be Randy Orton vs. Wade Barret in a last man standing match with the winner being Randy Orton after Rko ing Wade through a table off the top of a ladder, With Randy reaching his feet at 9 and Wade getting counted till 10.

I'm not sure they could have so I'd like to see a "Road To Wrestlemania" tournament.

They could have first round matches on Raw/SD!, quarter finals at Elimination Chamber so then there'd be 4 men going in to 'Mania, I think that would make 'Mania a huge success and it'd have heaps of hype.
I won't go into specifics like "RVD is the best ever", but I would have these guys in it to start:

I'm assuming that Undertaker, Triple H & Rey Mysterio will be gone or embroiled in another angle by the time this takes place.

I know by the time Mania came around I would have 3 guys you would probably expect to be there (BUT NOT CENA!) and one young gun, possibly JOMO. Said young gun would get a shock win in the semis and would then main event in a classic match where, although he wouldn't win, his spot at the top would be solidified.

I love title tournaments. When I was a kid, I had well over 75 G.I. Joes. Instead of playing with the tanks, and planes, etc, my deal was I built a scaled down wrestling ring out of an erector set type kit, and I held mock wrestling events. They were almost exclusively tournament style, on an NCAA basketball tourney level. 64 wrestlers involved, the prize being championship belts made from twisty ties and construction paper. Title tournaments have always interested me. In fact, I would have a title tournament at Wrestlemania once every 4 years, kind of like the World Cup or Olympics.

This was a pretty good idea given the circumstances back then. Tournaments have always been a pretty good draw, but imo, one this large couldnt take place during one ppv now. Having the tournament set up over 2 weeks before WM & have the finals at the ppv would work great. I miss the King of the Ring ppv & loved the night Jericho became undisputed champ during Vengeance.

in all honesty, i would have to give this to Sheamus or Miz if it came down to a one night tournament. they are both sneaky & seem to have pretty good stamina. if it was over a 2 week period into wrestlemania, giving it to Edge or CM Punk. the older but wiser former champs would pick apart the competiton without wasting energy.
