Rene Dupree fired by WWE

From WWE.com:

"World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of Rene Dupree. WWE wishes Rene all the best in his future endeavors."

If I were a betting man, I'd say Dupree was probably let go due to failing a drug test. The Benoit tragedy has really put WWE in a negative light and has gotten everybody worried about steroids, so it's only natural WWE will publicly fire some wrestlers to try and show the media they are taking measures to stop the drug problem. I think Dupree has already been in rehab, and now that he's just suddenly being fired, I think WWE may be making an example of him.

Also makes you wonder, are more firings coming soon?

Dupree was bound to get fired as he as been in trouble before that why they canceled the whole La Resistance angle in the new ECW. Of course WWE will leta few of the under card guys go if they fail any test. They never let a big superstar go. Oh well Dupree will wind up on the indies.

Possibly due to steroid use. I mean, he was gigantic when he won the WWE tag team championship when he was only 19, and I don't know anyone as big as he was that's 19. I also heard that Vince notified his talent not to be on steroids due to them possibly being investigated on. But at the same time, since when was the last time we saw him? The release was probably the same as Rob Conway's. He was kept off TV for along time and not used.

I don't understard the release, but as you've said, there might be something behind it all. He could have had a future in WWE, he was good in Smackdown way back. But there might have been something that kept him out of the ring and TV.

Sometimes, I forgot Dupree was still with WWE. I understand he made a few appearances in ECW, but ever since La Resistance died, this guy has been total shit. He's been having drug problems and they had to send him to rehab.

No doubt that I'll say this firing was not only because of the media crapping all over WWE, but because they really never used Dupree in the first place. Ever since Rob Conway was fired, I could tell that Dupree was going to be turned into a big pile of nothing, because he may have had the superstar look, but let's face it, he was just going to be ECW's Chris Masters, and that was never going to work.

I see this setting an example for the rest of the roster. Expect a few more wrestlers to be released in the next few weeks or so, to kill off the steriod talk for awhile. Also, with Barry Bonds, the media will also take their focus off WWE and put it on Bonds. Either way, they need to do this for awhile to show they're serious.

All in all, I thought Dupree was going to get fired anyway. I think he was on the bubble this whole time, and I expect a few more guy who were barely on the roster to be fired shortly.
