Reinstating the Mayhem Title

I remember when the tag titles almost got retired, crazy times I tell ya.

Unless it gets to a point where there are literally no other teams willing to give it a try I can't see the tag titles being retired. Whenever the division seems dead like 3 or four teams pop out of nowhere only to split in two cycles and the process starts over again.

It didn't help that Cooper with Keaton retired three tag teams before grabbing the belts. Those bully's.

It took what, 5 years before a team managed to win the belts more than once.

Four titles are too much. Bringing back the Mayhem title to make five is dumb. You need to remove one title at least to justify the Mayhem title. Whether that is via unification or retirement is up to you.

However, we retired the Mayhem title. It's dead. Make the Elite or Eurasian better, or put it in the same position tier wise as the Mayhem title

I may be in the minority when I say Mayhem title doesn't need to return, not yet anyway. The roster isn't big enough. I am also against show exclusive midcard titles because it wouldn't make much sense right now. It's like everyone can appear on either show except the champion which makes no sense.

I held off on really saying this earlier, but this is how I feel as well. Why do we need to differentiate the shows at all? Why bother making the titles show-exclusive when we have the same pool of contenders and the titles will be defended as the same rate they are currently? It just doesn't make sense to me. I'm not super fussed though.

Call me crazy, but I like to think a group of alleged creative writers should be able to find ways justify the existence of their characters in situations that don't involve the pursuit of a championship.

I want the mayhem belt back because I like the mayhem belt. But saturating the fed with championships so that everyone "has something to do" has never made sense to me, which is why I'm indifferent to the existence of either of the other midcard belts.

I know, I know -- I have funny ideas about wrestling.

I agree with the notion that more titles aren't needed just to have something for everyone. The only reason I don't want any current title to go is because both midcard titles have intriguing reigns going on, and in fact both of them have become an intricate part of stories going on. Adding another title for lower guys won't do anything for them.

Maybe we need more feuds?

They can work their way up. That only makes the current titles more interesting and prestigious. As I said earlier, more feuds could help the lower guys.

There's a thing called a "feud" which has a tendency to elevate both people involved.

Oh and it might encourage people to go attempt to take the tag titles with someone else.

Adding more titles is just a lazy way to give everyone something to do. We need more feuds and better storytelling. That's what we are here for: creating crazy characters with cool stories and developing characters. Let's reflect that in the shows, too. Have the titles be there as a prop/another element to these stories.
