This is exactly what I was talking about, which is what you failed to capture in my post. You've stated a couple of times that Nintendo is failing when in reality; their handhelds alone could keep the company running strong for years to come.
PS3 is far from better than Nintendo, once the PS3 has been around for as many years as Nintendo has, then you can claim that it is better. Longevity is key here, Nintendo has been making consoles, handhelds, video games, accessories, and magazines for more years than the Playstation has even thought about existing.
I don't hate on any of the systems. I perfer each system for a certain style of game, Playstation is ass for FPS because the controller for the Xbox is more natural feeling. Sony tends to get the better RPGs (minus Fable). And I would rather play a platformer by Nintendo any day over a platformer on Xbox or Playstation.
Your closed minded view on video games is an example as to why there is a "console war". Consoles are supposed to be different, to give the consumers different choices, video games are made different to appeal to different people. I get it, you don't like platforming video games, just because you don't like them, doesn't mean that they are shit, it means that you don't like them.
What's wrong with enjoying all systems and dissing games you don't like AFTER playing them? I'm not a Halo fan because it never really sucked me in with the gameplay or story or anything. FPS's aren't my thing anyway. However I know some people DO like it and that's cool. I'll just be over here playing something else.

I hated Infernal when I played it but I'm sure someone out there enjoyed the game, I'm just going to make sure my circle of friends don't play it because they have the same temperments that I do.

Halo is garbage. Sorry to any Halo fan boys, but the story is shit and multiplayer is highly overrated. It did a lot for online play of course, but it easily ranks as the most overrated game series of all time. Funny how when COD:MW came out a lot of people stopped giving a fuck about Halo.
Never really got the appeal to Halo.. Mind you I dont enjoy MW much either but at least I can play it for 10 minutes or so.

Some of those are shit but some are awesome. I never cared for Doom or Quake but Goldeneye was awesome back in the day. The newest Wolfenstein game was pretty good.
Going out very shortly to get a new playstation. I've needed one for a long while, as mine is one of the ones from when they came out.
I'm expecting the game too stop freezing in my new station, if not I'm expecting a patch very shortly.

I think we've confirmed Nintendo and Ps3 are both greats, Nintendo was great in its time, and has a great console now. Nintendo also has good hand held games, and their games are good for the type where your not looking for a plot, and just want puzzle solving like games. Ps3 is good for shooters and story games. I personally like my games to be like...interactive movies. So I'm giving this debate to you guys.
Now back to RDR. Once I fix my freezing problem, I'll give you guys my full input, but I've only got about an hour of gameplay in since tuesday, and in that hour it's a damn good game. (That hour I had to restart my saved data after it was erased, and I only got about 2 missions past that at this point.)
Also, In order to get my mom to even go out today, I had to help her for the past 2 hours shoveling shit...well..molch.

I would not go as far as to denounce all of these as I found Goldeneye and Half-Life to be fine games. The first level of Medal of Honour is amongst the best ever.
However, many games in the shoot-em-up genre are the prime culprits for sacrificing storyline and length for repetitive gameplay
