Red Dead Redemption

I'll be getting it in a couple weeks. Goal at the moment: UFC Undisputed 2010. Pre-ordered that shit. Playing the hell out the demo..

Yeah speaking of that code, I can't get mine through for the Deadly Assasin Outfit. Says Rockstar network down try again, or something like that.

I really hope this game is quickly fixed, as I've been having some bad experiences so far.

Bad experiences?

I'm extremely disappointed with this game right now. First off, the loading screens are really long compared to most of Rockstars other games, I mean, I know it's open world without loading, but it doesn't match up to the loading time I'm used too, reminds me of Ps2 games. Hell, I remember PS1 took hours to load...stupid low graphically harry potter game...

Bad experiences?

The loading screens I just mentioned don't bother me too much, but like said earlier, during some cut scenes the graphics get a little flash, that might be my TV, but it's a little bit annoying, I don't mind that much either though.

Then, I pre-orded it at Gamestop so I could get the special unique code, and get the Deadly Assassin outfit. It wasn't working all day, the server was down or something, but I don't really care about either...no...

What really put me in a very pissy mood, was the fact that the damn thing freezes every 5 minutes! My playstation is a total piece of shit, but it doesn't freeze, and when it does, it's usually the game. Now even that, I coulda delt with until they make a patch. So yesterday I forced through some of the game, getting about 4 hours worth. After restarting my playstation after the 7056th freeze, the hard drive decided it needed to reformat.....erasing all of my saved data, not just RDR, All of it. Luckily I had stuff from previous games saved on my flashdrive in case of something like this.

But the nice people who make Smackdown vs Raw, decided to lock the save file from being saved on a flash drive, meaning I couldn't save any of my Caws, all the things I unlocked, my Road to Wrestlemanias, my Create a story things. I haven't even put all the stuff from the flashdrive back on the playstation yet, as I'm damn sure it'll do it again, plus, the main games I play are Madden, Call of Duty, SvR (not anymore.), GTA, and now Red Dead Redemption.

This freezing problem must be fixed, it ruins a very great game.

I saw the video review on Gamespot Australia and it looks ven more fantastic and im sure the game does freeze for everyone.

If you buy it from HMV you get 3:10 To Yuma for free on Blu-Ray.

I don't see how they'll be able to make it better than GTA game, but it should still be great. After driving around in fast cars and having a wide variety of weapons it'll probably appear a little limited.

IGN gave it a 9.8, but then again IGN makes bullshit ratings like GTA4 getting a 10.

If I keep hearing praise about it I might check it out, but Starcraft 2 is the only game im set in stone about buying this year so far.

In RDR, you can shoot fuckin animals for fun and cut them up, im astounded PETA ain't been all over this game, next thing you know there will be a secret cheat where you fuck the shit out of women in a carriage...while holding a gun to their head.

Nah, you just get a lot of revolver/shotgun/rifle variants. And different coloured horses.

Im getting the golden guns pack with my pre order i think, as UK and Australia are getting different packs i think, im not sure, im gonna ask the folks at GAME as im pre ordering there for $39.95 as i can trade in a selected title. But the bonuses are great though for this game.

Huh. Mario Galaxy is starting to sound pretty good right about now.

GamesTM is who you should go to for game scores. They're pretencious as fuck, but their scoring system is very good. It used to be the same with Edge, until they gave Bayonetta a 10, so they have a strike against them.

I dont know of many games deserving of a perfect 10.

From personal experience, the only games I would really give that rating to would be Starcraft (after a shitload of patches to make it the fantastic game it is today) and Ocarina Of Time (and naturally both decisions are biased there).

I dont think either of those games are perfect, but they are the two that stand out above the pack to me personally. While GTAIV was a good game, there was so much useless rubbish to do, parts of the game were just flat out boring, and while I dont mind realism, taking out tanks, parachutes as well as a variety of things that made San Andreas so fun was just annoying.

Havent played Bayonetta though, and Mario Galaxy was good fun, dont think i'll be getting the second one though im sure it will be just as good

It depends entirely on how you're viewing a score of 10. I think many gaming websites have clarified at this point that 10 does not mean a perfect game, but one that could not be meaningfully improved in any way. I think GTA IV was a 10, because while it had flaws, I don't think you could have expected significant improvements from that game, it was a huge sprawling world with online multilayer as well. Here is GameSpot's clarification on their 10 rating:

10.0: Prime
This exceedingly rare score refers to a game that is as perfect as a game can aspire to be at its time of release. Obviously, the constantly changing standards for technology and gameplay will probably make this game obsolete some day, but at its time of release, a game earning this score could not have been improved upon in any meaningful way.

Notice that it's called Prime now? It used to be called Perfect, but that was changed because arguably no game can be perfect.

I can understand that really, I even said myself that I knew my two favourite games are not perfect, but got their 10 due to being on that level above everything else in my opinion.

The site I even mentioned before, IGN has similar reasoning to their score system. No im not so stupid that I cant understand this concept. I guess I just dont feel that GTA4 was worthy of a 10, somewhere in the 9's sure, but it didnt feel that special of a game (or enjoyable at some points).

Each to their own though of course.

Shenmue II is more viewed as an Xbox game than a Dreamcast game.

I'm going to buy a Dreamcast. So many games I never played...

You'd rather buy an overrated, stale, annoying, and creppy Mario game....over a free roaming europhia game engine game, which has great plot, awesome voice acting, and a millionx2 extra side things to do. Suit yourself. I for one will buy an game made by Rockstar.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Are you an absolute fucking ******. Seriously, read back what you said and then realise how much of an abomination to your parents you are.

Fucking tard

I don't like numbered ratings. I prefer the A-F grading scale.

And I know Shenmue II was a Dreamcast game first, but people don't really know that.
