Yokozuna (JAP) vs Lance Storm (CAN)

This match will be a Stretcher Match.

This is a first round Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal Match in the 2010 Wrestlezolympics. The only way to win this match is to place your opponent on a stretcher and push the stretcher across a line at the top of the entrance ramp. A reinforced stretcher will be used to account for Yokozuna's weight.

The match will open for discussion on Tuesday, January 26th, and voting will begin on Wednesday, January 27th. This is a non-spam thread, so if you decide to post, you must provide reasons why you are backing a particular wrestler. You may vote without posting.

Oh that's brilliant.

Lance Storm is a technical god. Whether you find him boring or not, whether you loved him in ECW, WCW or WWE, there is no denying that Lance Storm can definately go in the ring. You might try to contend that he would have some footing in the environment, with it being a hardcore match and having such implements at his disposal such as he did in ECW, even though he didn't use them as much as say, Sabu. you might argue that he could outsmart his opponent, and sneak out a win somehow. But no way in hell does he win this match.

I'm sorry. If it were a wrestling match, sure. A cage match, sure. A ladder match, sure. If he needed a pin, or to climb to win, Storm would have Yoko by the family jewels. But in a stretcher match, where one has to firstly get one man onto a stretcher and then push him up the ramp? Even with a reinforced stretcher, thats asking the impossible of a guy who isn't exactly the biggest guy in the world himself. Yoko has the strength the back him up, and the mass, and maybe even a few asteroids orbiting him. Yoko gets the win.

Banzai.

This is similar to Eddie vs Rikishi as in a lot of cases you take Storm but there is NO way in hell, Storm pushes Yoko up the ramp, let alone just get him on the stretcher. The big guy wins easy.

As much as I respect Storm's abilities, there is no way he wins this one. He won't be able to get him on the streacher.

Come on now... you can do a little better than this.

I cannot agree with this at all. Lance Storm is an EXTREMELY skilled wrestler and I'm convinced that he can do just about ANYTHING inside and outside a ring...

...that is, except for pushing a 550lb, Japanese/Samoan fat guy up a 200ft ramp going UPHILL.

Yokozuna really lucked out in this matchup. He needed a match where his weight would give him an edge, considering that Lance Storm is one of the underrated greats in our business. This is perfectly catered to him.

Poor Lance will probably knock Yokozuna on his ass and get him to lay on that stretcher about 50 times, but won't be able to keep Yoko out of it for enough time to get his fat ass up that ramp. I can see Lance just walking himself up the ramp with the stretcher by himself and pushing himself over the line out of sheer frustration.

Give me Yoko here. I love Lance Storm and he is great in the ring and I think he wins this if it is any other stipulation. But given the fact the point of this match is to put your opponent on a stretcher and wheel them up to the top of the ramp, Yoko has this. Storm will fight his ass off, but Yoko will gain the advantage, hit a Banzai drop or two and throw Storm on the stretcher and wheel him up for the victory.

BANZAI!!!

"Yokozuna sucks, GD."
"You're trying to destroy team Japan."
"I hope you die in a fire, GD."

Myself and a few others were crucified for supporting Yokozuna on team Japan. It was pretty intense. We were told that Yoko would be of no help to the team whatsoever. Well, look who's right now.

There really is no way that Storm wins this match. He'd have a difficult enought time keeping Yoko down for long enough to put him on the stretcher, let alone push him up the ramp. The man is a fucking monster.

This match was tailor made for Yokozuna. He's already a pretty talented wrestler for his size. If you put him in a situation like this, it's a guaranteed victory.

I'm going to throw this out there as I think Storm has at least some chance of winning....

Remember Judgment Day 2003 when Brock Lesnar faced the Big Show in a Stretcher Match. All through the match the question was how was Lesnar going to put Show on a stretcher and wheel him across the line. He got Show on the stretcher plenty of times but failed to keep him on. Later in the match, he drove a forklift to the ring, put Show on the stretcher and drove the forklift across the line for the win.

Now I know that Storm isn't as big and strong as Lesnar but that is a possible way that Storm can win this match. There may be a forklift back there or there may not be, but what happened in 2003 can certainly happen again now.

LJL, no offense, but lightning could also strike the arena, causing a fire and an avalanche of spectators frantically exiting the arena... in turn, a few of them could push Yokozuna up the ramp and after the crowd cleared out, Storm could push the stretcher over the line and technically win the match.

What's my point? The odds of Storm winning this match are as good as me going a year without *********ion.

Anything can happen, but Storm's victory is highly unlikely.

Yeah I'm with the masses here. This is about as perfect as you could ask for for Yoko. The problem with the Lesnar/Show analogy is simple: Lesnar is really really strong. Storm isn't. There's your difference right there. Storm can do whatever he wants here but Yoko will be on him like Yoko on a pile of ribs. This is a squash.

Here's how I look at it, if Shawn Michaels can defeat Yokozuna, and do so as easily as he did that one time on Raw, then Lance Storm could as well.

Storm is twice the athlete Michaels is, stronger than him, smarter than him, and just as tough. Yokozuna wouldn't lay one of his fat paws on Storm once in the match. Storm would use his intelligence, speed, and agility to keep Yoko from doing anything devastating to him. He would tire the big man out, and then strike with a superkick that has laid out Yokozuna before. Then, for good measure, he'd go back to his ECW mind-set, go to the outside, pick up a chair, and repeatedly blast the motherfucker over the head until he was out for good.

Now, how would Storm get Yoko across the line on a stretcher? Easy. Like I said... Storm is extremely intelligent, and he knows as much about this business as anyone. Surely he saw the Brock Lesnar/Big Show match from Judgment Day 2003, as he was in the company as the time. He'd simply do what Lesnar did that night, and that's put a stretcher on a forklift, roll Yoko's big ass on that son of a bitch, and drive it across the line, winning the match is dominating fashion. Simple as that.

Winner: Lance Storm.

LOL

I fucking hate the fact that Yokozuna is on Team Japan, and I was going to let him get fed to the dogs and concentrate on the team's four other wrestlers, but I couldn't help myself from posting in this one.

There's no way in hell that Lance Storm wins this one. In any other situation, yes, Storm would run circles around Yokozuna. But, no scenario bodes well for Storm in this instance. If Storm could even get Yokozuna on the stretcher, then he'd have to worry about it not collapsing. Ultimately here's I how I see it going: after the 45th stretcher collapses under Yokozuna, Lance Storm passes out from exhaustion and EMTs come out and take Storm backstage for medical treatment while Yokozuna eats a sushi platter for ten.

This is the only known time in my existence where I am absolutely convinced Lance Storm will lose a match cleanly without even taking a second thought. Storm is an unbelievable wrestler where any match he is put in you can guarantee victory. But this is a lucky break for Yoko, and I mean lucky. All he has is his power and weight game to utilise, and this is something Storm can't combat here. How the hell are you expected to get one of the biggest men of professional wrestling on a stretcher, let alone push him up a slant?

I like JMT's thinking though, but thats a one in a million chance this situation will happen. All other situation leads to Yoko winning, unfortunately.

Stretchers are built to carry and move fat people, they'll only break if you raise them up. I don't know if anybody has asked this question, but what is the entrance like? If it's a ramp Storm couldn't move him up it, and Yoko would take forever to walk up it.

There is absolutely no argument for this one, I'm afraid. When Yokozuna was in his prime in 1993, he beat Bret Hart, who is a better technical wrestler than Storm. Storm may be a more intelligent wrestler, and he is certainly more entertaining to watch, but in all honesty, I don't think that we can expect to see him doing anything that will keep Yoko down for long enough for him to go and get a forklift. When you add in the fact that its rare that someone is rolled onto a stretcher, then it seems very unlikely that Storm can walk away with this one.

I haven't seen many wrestlers rolled onto many stretchers in the matches I've seen, usually they fall. The problem with Yokozuna is that once he falls he isn't getting up. It all depends on him falling onto the stretcher.

Lance Storm at 15 years of age could bench press 300 pounds.

Lance Storm is one TOUGH motherfucker. He's strong as hell, fast as hell, and versatile. He also knows how to wrestle a hardcore style. Which would be enough to take the slow moving Yoko off his feet. I honestly think Storm would win this match. There's not much that Yoko could really do to Storm, if Storm was floating circles around him and beating the fuck outta him. All Storm has to do is knock him off his feet and onto the stretcher, which he can do. Then he has to push him, which he can definitely do.

My vote goes to Lance Storm.

Big men never win matches they are too confident in. Undertaker beat Yoko in a casketmatch, and Henry. The reason? They were too confident. Big Show in the Stretcher match also lost. Any Super heavyweight in a Royal Rumble?

Lance Storm in ECW was a powerhouse. He was also incredibly intellegent. He also had some help. I have read through the 1700 page charter of the WrestleZone Olympics and no where does it state that another wrestler(s) who has previous interaction with said talent cannot interfere. And Storm has a pair. I know that Yoko also has Mr. Fuji, but I have studied Fuji well. He likes boobies. And there will be distraction of said boobies (again, charater 15 a. does not state that a woman's breasts may be viewed (as this match does not take place in PG ratings, and as long as they are censored on television, it is allwed). The Impact Players will then tired Yoko out (taking approximatel 4:37 seconds. He will then look for a place to take a rest. That place? the stretcher. Lance Storm and Justin will sing a Samoan/Japanese lullaby and slowely push the snorlax over the finish line.

Vote Storm.

Damn this is a tough one. All logic points toward Yoko beating storm and possibly eating him aftewards. But for some reason there is still a nagging thought in my mind that Storm could pull this out the bag somehow.

Yoko could dismantle his yes,but he would have to get his hands on him 1st,which ok isnt impossible but hard. Storm is smart though. Could an over confident Yoko push him towards the line with Storm playing dead then jump up,hit a super kick as make Yoko fall onto the stretcher? The fact this is a no dq match also allows for weapons, which due to his ECW background Lance would use to his advantage.

Thing is,my scenario, whilst possible,is unlikley. My prediction in the 2nd sentence is much more probable. Going to vote Yoko.

IC rigged this...I'm still voting Storm. Why, you ask?

Storm can lead Yoko to the top of the ramp (having already taken the stretcher up there), and then use his finisher, an effective superkick, to land Yoko on the stretcher, past the line, getting the win.

Yoko could easily throw Storm onto the stretcher, but he's not exactly in good enough shape to drag Storm any distance, much less uphill.

In just about any type of physical match up not involving a ladder, or a time limit above 15 minutes, Lance Storm would be completly fucked against Yokozuna. So Storm has techincal skills? Fuck his techincal skills. The only way a 600 pound trained sumo is going to leave his feet is if he trips over himself, and the odds of that happening are about the same as Lance bodyslamming Yoko.

In a stretcher match, Storm has no chance; unless, he has a spare forklift and wooden palate just lying around somewhere in the back. The only way he could ever use those objects would be to incapacitate Yoko, and the only way I could see him take Yoko out successfully would be to run circles around him for 20 minutes straight (which wouldn't happen.) Yoko would catch him eventually, and the match would just be downhill for Storm from there.
